The cold breeze touched my cheeks as I was lying down on the concrete floor at the rooftop. There is no one there. Just me, laying on the floor. I stood up, looked at the beautiful sunset, and listened to the soft chirps of the birds passing by.
"Boring", I muttered.
A loner. That's what I was ever since I was born. I am basically invisible.
Two weeks after I transferred and I still don't have any friends.
If I join a club would that make any difference? It wouldn't hurt to try, right?
The classes are already finished an hour ago but there are still a lot of students loitering around the hallways. Most of them belong to a club of some sort. Lucky them.
Sports clubs are out of the question as I never really played one before. I don't have friends to play with remember. Also, while looking at their club rooms, I kinda feel intimidated for some reason I do not understand either.
Maybe, I should consider joining the literature club or the newspaper club, they seem decent enough and the members look welcoming,I guess.
Nearing the far end of the building, a certain club room met my eye. The astrology club. Speaking of astrology, my star sign shows that something good will happen to me today. I wonder if this is it. If I join this club, I may win the lottery or something. Well, I highly doubt that.
As I enter the room, my eyes locked upon a girl who seems to be a year older than me. She has long wavy purple-ish hair and her eyes are sparkling yellow. She seems kinda surprised about my entrance but it seems like she has no intention of breaking the awkward silence which enveloped the room.
"Um...E-excuse me. I'm Tendou Hanawa from class 2-2. I'm kinda interested in joining the club."I nervously said as I introduced myself.
Oops. I said it. I initially don't have any plans on joining already but due to my nervousness, I accidentally said it.
Her puzzled expression suddenly turned into excitement.
"Woah... A new member!! Of course you're welcome here!. Come on. Sit." She exclaimed.
I placed myself comfortably on a chair in front of her.
"Oh. I'm sorry I still haven't introduced myself. How rude of me." she said as she bowed apologetically. "My name is Shinohara Ayame from class 3-3. I'm the astrology club president and also the only member. Wahaha~"
"No one joined the club yet, Shinohara-senpai? I asked.
"Yup. We are the only remaining members ever since my senpais graduated."
"Oh...What are they like senpai?"
"Well, they are really fun to be with! We always talked about horoscopes and played with tarot cards and did some other things. It was really fun!"
After saying this, she seems sad for some reason. A round of silence filled the room again.
"It's getting late senpai. I should get going now. By the way, here is my club registration form."
I handed her the form and began to exit the room.
"Goodbye Hanawa-kun! Don't forget to come tommorow!"
"Goodbye Shinohara-senpai."
After we exchanged goodbyes, I finally headed home.
It really is getting late. There aren't a lot of students left in the campus.
On the way home, I have a sudden realization.
"Wait. What do the astrology club even do?" I muttered to myself.
Well, I guess that will forever remain a mystery.
