Chapter 3 - Too Intense

The summer heat was getting to me. While travelling in a poor class train, my sweat was enough to make me feel sticky and wet. The whole train was full of people, and each one has the same situation as i do.

This was too uncomfortable.

And it was such a relief when i finally got to my destination. I changed my clothes first before i could get to the cruise ship. As i was done, i was a bit excited to see the seaside.

The sight of the blue sea was breath taking, and i could also see the cruise ship nearby. My smile couldn't be taken away, i've always wanted to try and go swimming when i was young.

"Is this the first time you've seen the sea, young man?" A random guy asked. I didn't care about him, so i didn't bother looking at him.

"Yeah, it's beautiful." I answered him anyway.

"Indeed, and it's even more beautiful when you go travel on the sea."

"Really?"

"Are you going to the cruise ship?"

"Yes, but not as a passenger, i'll try to get a job there."

"Then i hope you can get there."

"Thanks." He seemed nice enough, so i turned to look at him and saw a man who looked like in his 40s. Although he looked old, there's no denying that he is a handsome man. He was also wearing fancy clothes which makes him look a noble man. He probably is a noble man.

"O-Oh, you're uh... you're a noble, aren't y-you?" I awkwardly asked.

He laughed a bit, "No need to act like that, just pretend i'm just like everybody around you." It's so rare to see a rich man to be this nice these days. It was always rumored that the rich people are rude to commoners and always treat them like trash.

But it seems not all of them are.

"Oh, okay... i'll be excusing myself then, sir." I kindly told him, but he didn't let me go.

"Won't you want to have a cup of tea with me? My treat." He offered.

I was hesitating a bit, but he kept insisting. In the end, i accompanied the old man at a nearby fancy cafe. He ordered Earl Grey Tea and some chocolate muffins.

"Uhm, why go this far sir?" I shyly asked. I feel like everyone in this cafe keeps shooting glances at me since everyone here seems to come from a rich family. I was the only commoner that can be seen here.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm just a commoner sir, why treat me like this?" I asked again. He just smiled and shook his head.

"You seemed interesting, so i wanted to befriend you. Is there anything wrong with that?" What he said shocked me. It made me wish that every people should be more like this man, and if that happens, then the whole world can probably be at peace.

"Are you alright, lad?" He asked.

"U-Uhm yes, thanks for the treat."

"You're welcome." And as we got our food, he started talking about the sea. He also said that he was one of the passengers of the cruise ship, and that he was excited to travel on it.

He is a very interesting man. Full of curiousity and wonder, like a young child. But he was also a generous man, he also told me a lot about the orphanage he helped and all the kids he met.

It really touched my heart to meet a man like him.

He was almost like the perfect parent i wished for.

Kind, generous, and loving.

I thought those doesn't exist anymore. "...by the way! We've been talking a lot, and i haven't got your name yet."

We laughed as we both realized that. I hesitated to introduce myself with my real name, so i told him a fake one. "I-I'm Jaden Louise." I feel real bad about lying to someone like him, still, it's my will not to trust anyone i just met.

"Nice to meet you, Jaden. I am Jeremiah Gabeslock." As soon as he mentioned his name, my whole body got stiff.

This man... that i-i thought w-who was...

"J-Jeremiah?" I...

I never...

"Yes, though you can call me Jerry. A lot of people says my name was too long." And he laughed, and he sounded so nice. There was actually a moment that i thought he was an angel... and that was so fucked up.

"I'll kill you." I whispered, and it was a good thing that he haven't noticed it.

I did my best not to feel anything, and avoiding to glare at this bastard was hard enough.

As he was done enjoying his moment, i decided to excuse myself. "Ah, look at the time. I have to go to the cruise now, i really wanted to get a job there." So i can fucking kill you.

"Is that so? Such a shame, we were having a good time too."

"Yeah, but i think we'll be able to see each other again." I said, smiling.

"Sure, see you soon then." Then he waved goodbye.

As i left the cafe, i was just too furious.

But it was a perfect timing.

It won't be so hard to kill you now, Jeremiah Gabeslock.
