Chapter 5 - When we all fall asleep?

When falling asleep, or sleeping, we enter a receptive state where we make up ideas or contemplate other thoughts - that could be sexual dreams, love dreams or maybe dreams where literally anything can happen such as in an inception. That morning I had gone into a very great receptive state. I woke up to find that Evie had gone and left a message, '' Good morning and sorry, dude. I had to go and meet up Chris. Party was fun besides that other stuff so pretend it wasn't real. P.S It was resolved. That's it. TTYL, Beansy!...xxx.'' She sent the text to me an hour before I had awaken. I needed to see her. I quickly got the grip of my dream before it slipped away out of my mind forever. I wasn't very good at remembering back dreams but yet, I had which led me to act accordingly and in condescension. I got ready in no time and went down to the breakfast table finding my parents notching down on their ham, egg, cheese and cinnamon toast for breakfast. I tiptoed over to the them and gave mother a kiss on the forehead and squeezed father's shoulder tight that he almost squealed. "Where are you going?'' Mother asked. I took a large bite of the cinamon toast and drank down a whole glass of orange juice saying, "Just gonna run some errands'' before finally busting out of the door. It slammed behind me. I started walking faster before mother could yell back at me. I followed the same lane I always do when going to the restaurant or the public library. My mind in the verge of exploding and scattering out ideas as I rushed in that dull old road. I texted Evie telling her to meet me in the cafeteria supposedly, though, she didn't check the message right way but I aimed for the cafeteria without any second thoughts. I felt jittery all of a sudden when entering the cafeteria where people turned towards the door eyeing me. I clasped my hands together behind me and slowly walked to an empty seat. Evie hadn't arrived yet. I practiced what I'd say and how I'd explain it to her so she wouldn't freak out. I texted her - "I'll be on the 3rd seat when you enter the cafeteria.'' She sent back a confused emoji which I'd understood why. I'd been aware that it wasn't easy to divine my intention of asking Evie for this thing. I sat in silence looking around. A 14 year-old guy had a full cup holding it tight with both of hands and he took one step at a time and carefully placed it on the top of his table and his friends congratulated him and clapped their hands. I saw how pissed he was. That took time and then, Evie strode into the cafeteria texting on her phone towards me without even looking up. My phone beeped. It said, "Here I am'' from Evie. I looked up and she smiled a brief smile with only one side of her cheek. She sat down expecting me to just say whatever I wanted and be over with it. I wanted her opinion because she'd know what to do, otherwise, I wouldn't do it. She's a leader with a stern and resolute manner. I asked, "Did you see Chris?'' ''Yes and why do you care?'' She said, in a harsh way than she meant it to. ''C'mon. Don't say that. You know I care about you, but that guy is a dick'' I mumbled without even thinking for a second. She threw me a hurtful so I apologized. ''Look, Glenda. I'm just tired and It turns out... Um. Chris said that they actually didn't found what they were looking for last night. He barely talked so it just pissed me off.'' Evie explained with a sorry look on her face. But that had made things more easy and clear. I sucked on my lips to hide from smiling because I'd liked the idea now. The great idea i thought of from a dream. ''What's so funny, G?! We'll never have a party like that again and besides...'' I cut her off and began, ''You know about the letters I get that say a lot of shit, the ones that criticize my way of being?'' She nodded letting me to speak more, ''Well, I got one two days before. And last night, I heard Chris's uncle talk about identifying some information of someone on the phone.'' ''But why would he do something for us?'' Evie questioned unknowingly. ''Exactly! He won't do it not even if we ask Chris to ask him. You can clearly see he doesn't want him getting involved in any of his stuff they way he acted as a bodyguard the whole night. '' I explained, eager to speak more but her face was blank. Then she said, ''Then what do you want to do? I...I will just ask Chris. Maybe, He'll listen or I'd beg him'' she seemed desperate to end it then I'd regretted for telling her. She must have saw me being disappointed because she said, ''Ok. What's the plan?'' She leaned towards me. ''You're not gonna like it. But here it goes. I think... We could find what they lost on the boat and I think, I might know who stole it or what happened there. We'll make him a deal of This and That. We find whatever that is and he'll have to look for our criminal, the one with letter. '' I sighed leaning back in my seat. I said it out loud and it felt much more good. The plan hadn't been so dull and colossal after all because Evie nodded approvingly. ''This is crazy! You're an idiot, but you know, I'm with you in whatever and wherever.'' She reached for my hand and I let her. She held it tight and asked, ''What do you even want to look for the person writing the letter? They could be maniacs in real life. We probably don't wanna know them. I'll break her or his face if we do.'' I couldn't disagree with her. But if I'd let that person then they would have kept writing those letters and first of all, some things the person had pointed out were true. I'd somehow met that person in real life. The thing is, most of what was written felt true. Like I'd seen them happen or someone else did. I just couldn't remember.
