It took everything in Ignes to chant and call upon his gift. During the daylight the buildup of energy is much faster and easier than when the sun finally sets.
Sweat began to bead on his brow, and he is finally able to communicate with his spiritual weapon. However, he is only able to summon one blade, and it won't last for long. His body is tired and the Goddess is no longer able to aid his needs.
Growling deep in his throat, Ignes jumps from his mount quickly and runs towards the Veloo. He only has one chance, and it will have to be quick. Otherwise, fighting a Veloo with a basic weapon would mean more time for the pack to arrive. For the Veloo were very agile and quick. Their hides rather tough and would take a considerable amount of strength to pierce the animal with just a mere blade.
Andan sensed his Prime moving closer to him. He knew he had to keep the Veloo distracted. If he didn't advert the beast's attention, things were about to get very bad. His wounds ached, and he was beginning to slow down and the Veloo knew this. He could see the intelligent gleam in its' eyes.
Mustering what little strength he had left, he lunged for the animal. Hoping to startle it and give his Prime a chance to kill it. The animal saw him coming and moved out of his way, but didn't sense Ignes before it was to late. One swipe of the spiritual energy blade and the animal breathed no more.
Andan was very tired and didn't even feel the ground meet him when he passed out, nor did he hear this Prime's triumphant roar as the Veloo was slain. All he could think before complete darkness claimed him, was he hoped Ignes won't do anything foolish.
"Andan," she screamed before dismounting rather clumsily and rushing over to the fallen warrior.
Ignes reached out and grabbed her before she could reach his second in command. Pulling her close, he spoke, "Don't worry my female. Andan is strong. I will see to his wounds and then we must hurry. Where there is one Veloo, there is more."
"I want to help! Let me help Ignes. Please," she pleaded gently as she looked down at the male who has been nothing but patient with her the entire trip on this god forsaken planet.
He cocked his head to the side and then sighed with frustration. His female didn't understand their ways. When a warrior like Andan fell, it was customary for his brothers to see to his needs. Not a woman. But, he considered their predicament. There were no other males to keep watch or quieten the Doshoua males. Feeling weary, he nodded silently and went over to Adim to get a few supplies to patch up his best friend.
Jennie looked down at the male on the ground and wanted to weep. The wounds looked so bad. The light was nearly gone and she couldn't really see how deep they were. Andan's mount was being skittish, but didn't immediately run off. It snuffled around a bit and kept looking towards the horizon. As if it knew their time was short.
She then looked behind her at the proud male that was looking through his bag for supplies. His shoulders were broad and tapered down into a narrow waist. As her grandmother would say, he was built like a shit brick house. She never understood the meaning before, but after meeting this warrior, and that is what they were, warriors, she now knew what she meant. His naturally silver hair was like spun metal. It reflected what light there was and the tribal tattoos just made his muscles all the more prominent.
Just looking upon him made her pussy wet and clench with desire. He also had a very nice-looking ass in those loose pants of his. She wanted to nibble down his back and then bite that delicious ass. Jennie was totally absorbed into her fantasy that she didn't notice when Ignes was now back with supplies or the fact he stopped and sniffed the air.
It wasn't until she heard a growl that realized he was standing over her and could smell her heat. Blushing profusely, she held out her hands and silently asking for the supplies to stop the bleeding on Andan's back.
He smirked at the way his female turned colors and knew he caught her staring at him. If wasn't for the fact Andan needed them, he would take his female on the ground. Give it to her hard and dirty. Claim her before he got back to his home. He wanted all to know who she belonged to. He wanted her to wear his scent and spill his seed deep inside of her.
However now was not the time to indulge in mating urges. His friend was wounded. Instead, he leaned down, sniffed her neck and then growled softly.
"I can smell you my female. As soon as we return to our home... I will have you. Do not doubt this," he handed her the supplies and stalked off towards Andan's mount.
Jennie watched him walk away before looking back at Andan. Even though she couldn't really see much, she could almost swear that the bleeding had slowed down considerably. Sighing softly, she knelt down and began cleaning the wound before applying the bandages.
Ignes had to walk away from his mate or else he would have fucked her right then. He was so damn hard that it was messing with his head. He wanted this female so bad it hurt and the need to claim was unbearable. Taking several deep breaths, he finally calmed some of his mating urges and rounded up Andan's mount.
After making sure it was secured to Adim, his mount, he walked back over to his female. There was much to discuss between her and him. For a moment he felt jealous towards his friend, whom he cared for as a blood brother, and he needed to let his female know whom she belonged to. That she can't go around showing affection towards other males. This would cause him to be challenged at every turn. Even after the claiming.
Wiping a hand over his weary features, he made a slight noise to get her attention and when she turned her eyes towards him. His breath caught. So damn beautiful. Was all he could think for a moment.
"We will need to get Andan on his mount and make haste towards our home my little Feri. We have wasted more time than needed," he said simply before moving to his friend to drag him to the mounts.
Jennie caught a look on Ignes's face that made her breath catch. It was as if she was the most beautiful thing to him and then he spoke coldly and curtly again. She was beginning to wonder if he was that much of an introvert or was it something else? She only knew him for a short time, but he was proving he did have a heart locked away some where. It was the little things he did or said that caught her notice.
Like standing guard while she relieved herself. Which was the most embarrassing thing ever, but it was also the way he held her when they rode towards their home. Correction, his home. Even now, when she patched up his friend she could tell that it hurt him not to be able to tend to the wounds himself. It was becoming very apparent that they didn't plan for any of this to happen while traveling.
Gritting her teeth, she moved to help Ignes with Andan. When they finally got him to the mount and with a little luck, on the mount, they set off again towards where ever their home was. She hoped there was going to be a hot shower, a good meal, and a bed the size of Texas. For she was worn out and emotionally exhausted. So, for the rest of the trip, she didn't say a word. Neither did Ignes. Which was a blessing.
For she was afraid, she was beginning to develop feelings for the odd warrior and wasn't sure how to process them yet. She wasn't even sure she wanted to admit there was sparkle of feelings for him. All she could do was try to keep her eyes open and hope she wasn't passed out asleep by the time she reached their destination. Part of her was kind of excited to see how alien's lived her on Tnari.
