Chapter 25 - A Strong Punch

Harleen:

Screaming as I tackle Manbat off the bridge and into a bunch of computers, sparks flying everything as we land, I push myself up in time to grab a nearby computer and raise it high above my head. Tossing and slamming it right onto Manbat's head, he screams a little before blacking out.

"Whooo," I yell, rising a close fist into the air before looking around. However, my celebration is short live when I hear Selina scream! Turning around, I see Bruce on top of her, pinning her head against the ground!

Running to her but stopping when I realize I can't fly or even jump really high, I search my pockets for anything, anything useful at all! Practically turning all my pockets inside-out, I once again stumble upon small black discs from before.

"What the hell is this," I ask myself, looking the thing over.

The:

"Here," I say, offering a hand to Kara after leg swiping her. Slapping my hand away, she pushes herself off the dojo's floor and gets back up.

Finish with the vaccination now, Kara and I splinter from the rest and enter my personal dojo. Lights hanging from the ceiling, the floor is covered by a layer of bamboo mats, with stone walls and weapons of all sorts lined up against them; pistols, shotguns, swords, staffs, bows, and even a few explosives.

"I don't need your help," Kara says, wiping her forehead and getting into a fighting stance. Hovering a little in the air, she brings up her close fists. "I can do this!"

"Yeah," I reply, "You can do this. Listen, Kara, I'm trying, I really am, but I think, either way, this is going to sound harsh. You are a bad fighter."

Sensing an incoming 'hey', I put my hand before she can and shake my head.

"Your entire strategy relies solely on your powers, but if all you have is super-strength, then all you will do is just punch really hard. You need to learn how to fight, not just punch."

"How about I show you how hard I can punch," Kara starts, flying toward me, both her fists out and about. Rocketing toward me, I step out of the way and watch as Kara flies right past me. Flying a few more feet before stopping, she turns around to see me waving at her.

Her eyes changing color, now glowing bright red, a pair of lasers shoot out and charge toward me! Again, stepping back, the lasers flying past me, they stop before they can hit the explosives on the wall.

"Oh thank you," I thought, wiping my forehead. Also again, hearing Kara screams as she flies toward me, I reach into my pocket and grab my cell phone. Tapping a few things, the lights then switch from normal white to a pale green.

The pale green hitting Kara, she drops to the ground, her hand against her head.

"What," she starts, looking at the green lights. "What is this? What did you do!"

"I changed the lights from regular to kryptonite."

"What! Why!"

"Because again, you need to learn to fight, not just punch. Don't worry, this isn't the full glow. It's only about ten percent. You can still use all your powers, but not at full strength."

"Okay," Kara says, moving her hand away from her head and putting it up front. "Another question. Why do you have kryptonite lights?"

"They're something I built specifically for you. I have whole storerooms filled with kryptonite. I've been hoarding them for years."

"Wait, what! You have storerooms filled with kryptonite! And you've been hoarding kryptonite for years!"

"For the record," I start, putting up my finger. "I collect all sorts of things. A prime example is right over there."

Pointing at the many shelves of weapons right behind us, I then put up my own fists, also spreading out my legs. "Now, I believe we were in the middle of something."

Her feet on the ground, Kara charges toward me, her fists behind her head. Swinging it forward, I block her swing with my left arm. Now, face-to-face, Kara then inhales. Seeing where this is going, I duck down and out of the way as Kara uses her frost breath to freeze the bamboo mats.

Letting out a sigh, I shake my head.

"I'll replace those later," I whisper to myself. "At least, she didn't hit the grenades."

Firing lasers, I jump out of the way, turning around and running.

"This is how to fight," Kara screams, her lasers following me as I run. Forbidding myself from using any weapons or 'skills', I change tactics and run up a wall! Jumping off of it, backflipping through the air! Landing on the complete opposite side of the room, on my knee, I then shoot forward, Kara's laser disappearing, she tries a hard right swing but I slide under it, grabbing Kara's foot and pulling.

Falling to the ground, I push off the ground and onto my feet. Turning around to Kara as she pushes herself up, I remember something very important and pull it from my pocket.

"Here," I say, kneeling down and handing Kara a disc. "It just dawns on me. You're still in your prison uniform. Considering this your."

Taking the disc, we both stand up. Tapping my chest, Kara places the disc on her. Like Barry, Cold, and everyone else's disc, Kara's disc begins to grow, starting small before quickly moving to the rest of her. In only seconds, her white prison suit is replaced with a shining blue uniform, with a red cape and shoulder pads. Smack right in the middle is a giant, red 'S', on top of an upside, golden triangle.

"Wow," she says, smiling and looking at the suit. Her mouth dropping open, she quickly covers it with her hands before looking at me.

"This is," she stutters, "This is awesome! This is unbelievable!"

"Yeah," I reply, something getting stuck in my throat. Coughing and turning away, I look at all my weapons. "Do not mention it. Though personally, I would lose the cape and the 'S', you really seem to like those. Enjoy."

Walking out of the dojo, I stop when I hear Kara scream.

"Hey, wait," she starts, stepping forward. "Where are you going?"

"Somewhere not really important. Crane and the others should be passing by here so feel free to join them. Enjoy the tour."

Stepping out before Kara can say anything else, I place my fingers together and begin drawing a circle. Glowing blue as I draw, I then push the circle, the inside of it filling with a bright blue glow before hovering by itself. The portal now ready, I step into it.
