Kara:
I walk around my cell, the lights from the red sun generators draining my powers. Looking at the iron gate in front, they open as if on cue and Black Adam and Wonder Woman enter.
"Kara," Wonder Woman starts, "It has been a month once more. Have you reconsidered Superman's offer? If you do, you'll finally be let out. Not wasting your time until you die."
"I would rather die in here than help either of you two hurt innocent people," I scream. "You can stop wasting your time here. I'm not changing my mind."
"I told you she wouldn't," Black Adam yells. "Let's Superman transform her already. We wasted three long months talking. No more wasting time!"
"I agree," Wonder Woman says. "Sorry Kara, but it looks like you're going to be joining Bruce. You can tell him I say hi."
Feeling weak all of a sudden, my arms and legs turning to stone, I stay strong.
"It won't work," I scream. "It won't work on me. You'll be wasting more time, and besides, in order to do it, you'll have to take me out of here. And once I'm far enough away and fully recharge, I take both you down!"
"Maybe," replies Wonder Woman, "But you won't take down Superman and Batman. Together, they're invincible, and they'll be performing the transformation."
Instantly, as soon as I hear those words, I feel my throat close and my limbs crumble. I drop to my knees.
"Foolish girl," Black Adam says as he and Wonder Woman turn to leave. "Superman and Batman should be here in no more than an hour. Once done, we can move with the plans to invade the Green Lantern Corps."
"Yes Black Adam," Wonder Woman replies. "I'll call Superman right now."
Listening to them until the end, the doors finally closing, I couldn't hold it back anymore. I feel the tears fall. I watch them drop onto the ground.
"Uncle," I say, "Aunt. Mom. Dad. I'm sorry. I am so sorry. You sent me here to protect Kal, and I couldn't do it. And now. And now. And now he's leading an invasion. With the very ship that destroyed our homeworld. You never should have sent me here! I should have died with you!"
"I wouldn't go that far," a voice says, startling me.
I wipe my eyes and look around. Despite how close the voice sounded, I couldn't see anyone in my cell block. Only me and my reflection.
"Don't worry," the voice goes on. "I'm here to help. Also, I'm here in front of you."
Turning my head, I jump when I see a man standing in front of the cell's control panel. The man is wearing a black shirt underneath a jacket with many pockets, some long brown pants, and for some reason, had on a pair of black and blue sunglasses.
"Who are you," I ask, slowly getting up. "How did you get in here? Are you another one of my cousin's regimens, here to try and turn me?"
"Who I am is not important," the man replies, his attention focusing entirely on the control panel. Typing so fast, I could hardly keep track of his hands, he keeps talking.
"How I get in here is also not important. Also, no. I am not one of Superman's regimes. I see those losers around and quite frankly, I rather not be one of them."
About to ask more questions, I forget about all of them when I hear something go off around me. Looking up, I see all the red sun lights go out, my prison cell going dark.
"It'll be a while before you recharge," the man says, walking from the panel to my cell's window. "It'll be a shorter while before reinforcements realize the lights are off and come charging in here. We need to move fast."
Pulling back his fist, he punches the window, the wall of glass surrounding me shattering into millions of tiny pieces. Paralyze by the man's simple feat, the man then offers me his hand.
"Come on," he says, snapping his fingers together. "Again, it will be a shorter while before reinforcement comes storming in here."
Staring at the man, I nod my head and grab his hand. Our hands together, he begins leading me away, away from the cell where I spend three months listening to my cousin conquer the planet.
Somehow forcing the giant metal door off its hinges and tossing it aside, all without touching it, the man guides me through the prison. Flawlessly navigating his ways through, we somehow manage to avoid all the guards running around. Ducking and hiding in gaps in the wall and around corners, we make it all the way to Stryker's Island's outer courtyard.
"Wait," I yell, pulling the man's hand back. "Wait. Wait!"
"What," the man asks, his grip tightening. "You have a pebble in your shoe or something? Well, that's going to be the least of your problem in about five minutes. Give or take four minutes."
"No! I think I got some of my power back. Here, watch."
Pulling free of the man's hand, I focus for a bit and take a deep breath. Staring at the big, bright, yellow sun in the sky, I jump into the air. Landing back on the ground, I jump a few more times before it finally happens. Hovering in the air, I look back at the man.
"I did it," I scream. "I got my powers back!"
"Watch out," the man screams, pointing behind me.
"What," I say, looking behind me. I see Black Adam flying toward me, and before I can do anything, he charges and pushes me to the ground.
"Kara," Black Adam says, lifting me into the air by my throat. "I do not know how you escaped your cell, but I do know-."
The man appears from the side and hits Black Adam's arm, cutting him off. Screaming as he lets me go, the man then punches Adam in his chest. The punch is so strong, that it sends him skidding against the ground.
"Kara," the man starts, turning to face me. "Listen. From the looks of it, you're still recharging, but unfortunately, we don't have time to stay here and wait for you to reach full strength. Besides Black Adam, there's also Nightwing coming up from behind and Cyborg is coming from our left. Wonder Woman was with Black Adam earlier but since she isn't here, she must be flying to fetch Superman and Batman. You handle Nightwing. I got Cyborg and Adam."
The man slams his fist into his palm before leaving. Running toward Cyborg, Cyborg turns his arm into an arm cannon and fires. The man jumps over the blast and rolls onto the ground before swinging around and hitting Cyborg on the side. He screams before the man punches Cyborg across the face.
Watching them the whole time, I only stop when something hits me and electrocutes me. Screaming and dropping to the ground, I look around to see Nightwing, his stun batons crackling with power.
"Supergirl," he yells, twirling the batons in his hands. "I don't know how you got out, but I'll tell you this. You're going back in your cell right now."
"I," I start, pushing myself up. "I don't think so."
Taking a deep breath, I blow Nightwing away. He tries to hold on, dropping his batons and grabbing the grass, but it's no use. Flying away, I walk right up to him.
"Let's see you use that trick again," I say, bringing up my fists. Nightwing picking himself up, gets into a fighting stance.
"Don't worry," he says, "I got a whole bag of tricks."
Reaching into his pocket, Nightwing throws batarangs at me, each one is equipped with a flashing red light. I realize what those lights are and cross my arms just as they hit me and explode.
Now in a smoke cloud, I couldn't see anything. I blow the smoke away and see Nightwing charges toward me. He jumps into the air and spins around, kicking me in the head and knocking me to the ground. While I push myself up, he retrieves his stun batons and tries to hit me, but before he can, I grab Nightwing's foot and throw him into the air.
Screaming as he hits the ground, Nightwing gets up in time for me to grab and lift him into the air. About to throw him again, I pull back my arm. However, Nightwing stabs me with his baton as I shoot my arm forward. Electricity rushing throughout my body, I accidentally drop Nightwing and back away. The electricity still making my body shake, I couldn't do anything to stop Nightwing as he does a spin kick.
Hitting me in the head, I stumble back. The kick actually clears my head, I stop Nightwing as he brings his hands together and tries to hit me with his batons.
Blocking the attack, I take another deep breath and blow Nightwing away. He bounces up and down before finally stopping. Getting back up in only a few seconds, he slams his batons together and makes a staff. Twirling it around, he charges toward me. I try to take him out with a swing of my fist, but Nightwing jumps right over it.
"What in the--," I say before Nightwing drops something red and small in front of me. Whatever it is, it explodes and knocks me to the ground. I feel weaker suddenly and can't do anything to stop Nightwing from stomping on my hand.
"Red sun grenade," Nightwing says, putting the tip of his staff against my chin. "You can thank Batman."
Raising his staff into the air, Nightwing is about to slam it down on me, but using whatever power I have left, I burn the staff out of Nightwing's hand. Screaming and stepping back after dropping his staff, I get up and punch Nightwing. I then grab him and slam him to the ground. Finally, Nightwing is knocked out.
Dropping to my knees, out of breath, I feel someone grabs my shoulder. I turn around with a fist.
"Easy," the man says, putting up a hand. "It's me, Kara. Come on, you can't rest. Not yet anyway. More regimes will be here shortly. We must leave and gather allies."
"Allies," I repeat, the man throwing my arm around himself and carrying me through the courtyard. "You mean, like Flash and Green Lantern? Harleen and Catwoman? Firestorm and Blue Beetle?"
"More or less. Hold on."
We reach the fences surrounding the courtyard. When we reach it, the man holds out his hand, and before my eyes, a part of the fence vanishes completely, leaving behind a hole.
"Hold on. Again."
The man bending down, he picks me up, my legs hanging over his arms. Jumping through the hole and into the ocean below, the two of us drop onto a speedboat. Placing me down in one of the seats, he walks over to the controls and starts the boat.
"Hold on. For a third time. We're heading to Gotham City."
"Gotham City? Why?"
"Because that's where we'll find that bastard, Flash."
