After observing the area and making sure that there were no other enemies besides the skeletons, Mordred made his move.
"Summon Familiar."
The dark spirit appeared floating in front of Mordred's face. Mordred petted the little thing before giving it the commands he wanted it to follow.
After hearing the orders, Nyx replied with a 'Confirmed.' The spirit began floating over to one of the several groups of skeletons. He gave it the simple command to lift the skeletons high up before dropping them.
Since Mordred weighed about 400 pounds due to his dense and powerful demon body and telekinesis could also lift a 4th of that, this was the easiest and smartest strategy in Mordred's opinion.
'Nyx will not be harmed since low-rank skeletons are unable to fight at range. This way, she can level up her skill, I can level up my skill, and we gain experience for both of us to level up.
I will practice over here and try to upgrade my skills a bit.'
And that is exactly what happened. The skeletons were helpless against Nyx even though they were all C-ranks and between levels 4 and 7. Even though it took her at least 5 drops to kill them, it was still very efficient. And since it was a skill, it did not cost Nyx any extra mana to use it continuously.
Mordred would constantly practice with his saber using Weapon Proficiency while occasionally activating Oni's Body and Tranquil Fury. He would also Analyze random rocks on the ground.
After an hour, Mordred and Nyx had leveled up 4 times while all of his abilities had gained some experience but had not managed to level up yet.
None of the skeletons dropped any ability books so Mordred did not even try to pick anything up. The bodies were made of mana and would eventually return to the dungeon.
Mordred was currently staring at his status screen. It read

Seeing all of his stats and available points, Mordred was pleased. He was already more powerful than most demons at level 20 with his automatic stat increases due to his race. If he added on his class stat points, he would become even more powerful.
Stat points came from several sources but the main way to gain them was by leveling up. When a person leveled up, they would receive two sets of stat points.
The first set was racial. Whenever someone leveled up, they would automatically receive stat points into their various stats without being able to choose where they went. For higher ranked creatures, this is where the majority of their stat points came from.
The second set of stat points was class. Whenever a person leveled up, they would receive a set amount of stat points that they could freely distribute based on the Tier of their class. This is how the weaker races tried to make up for their weakness compared to higher rank races.
As for ability points, 1 was given once every 5 levels. They allowed a person to automatically gain one full level for an ability instead of grinding or studying to improve them.
System points were unique to system users. It allowed them to purchase skills, spells, knowledge, and items related to their class. A system user will gain system points equal to the (level X rank) of the creatures they slay. So after killing 200 C rank creatures, he gained 3,558 points.
'I will save my stat and ability points for later. Let's see what I can purchase in my system.'
Mordred went into the store menu for his system and went looking through the various things he could purchase. It was divided into two main sections which were then divided into sub-sections.
The first section was abilities and knowledge. At the moment, the ability books that were available with the points he had, granted mostly passive skills and a few active ones. There was also a system introduction book. the highest tier he could buy was Tier 2 with his points.
The second section was the items. It was filled with various weapons that looked both familiar and very unfamiliar to him as well as armor and materials. There were also a few pieces of technology that he did not recognize as well.
'No point in worry about points now. Plus, I'm only on the first level and have not taken on the boss monster yet. I can still buy other stuff after I know what I'm getting into.'
Without hesitation, Mordred chose the [Introduction to the SSOS] for 1,000 points. He knew that was what he needed most in order to win.
The book appeared in his hand for a moment before disappearing. The specks of light floated around his head before entering it. Mordred felt a rush of new knowledge enter his mind.
For several minutes, he was unable to do anything but absorb the knowledge. When he finally came to, he had a flash go through his eyes. He released Nyx so that the familiar stopped draining his mana when he was not in combat.
'So that's what this is. This stuff is items and knowledge from another world mixed with ours. But these seem kind of useless. While I can take out weaker and lower level enemies with them, I won't be able to hurt more powerful ones even with things like anti-material rifles.
No. This would not be tier 8 if it was useless. Let us think about this. First are the skills and knowledge. While most are passive, they are pretty much all useful with increasing my combat or survival capabilities.
These alone are not enough to make it level 8. Plus, it seems like I do not have many spells in here. Almost my abilities are skills.'
Mordred opened up the shop menu once again before going through the ability and knowledge section with fine details. He wanted to make sure that he did not miss anything. He saw that out of the hundreds of abilities, the number of spells barely made up 50. And none of them surpassed tier 4.
He looked through the spells and skills one more time to find his answer before he finally saw it in an inconspicuous spot. It was rated as only Tier 2 spell but Mordred saw just how important it could be.
'Tier 2 Spell: Basic Enchantment. This will be the key to making sure my class keeps up with me.'
