Right outside the village there was a spot I would go to when I needed to get away from the responsibility of everything for a while. With this in mind, I knew it would be perfect for Cass. I wasn't sure how no one else seemed to know about this spot but at the moment that made this an even better spot to go. It had a small waterfall that over the years had created a small pond at the bottom before continuing down the river. There were some larger rocks that I usually used to lay on when I needed to relax. The little pond and waterfall was surrounded by trees, that once you entered them it was like a secret area. It took us about 10 minutes walking. Slower than when I was in my wolf form.
"Oh my goodness! Wilder! This place is beautiful!"
The happiness in her voice made this even better. Since I loved this place I knew she would. "Think you could comfortably meditate on the rock over there by the waterfall?"
"Its perfect! Do a lot of people come here though? It suddenly becoming loud would make it difficult." The way she worried her lip at the idea was down right sexy as hell. I got so caught up in wanting to kiss her that I forgot to respond for a second.
"No. I'm not sure why but no one but me comes here. So it should stay quiet for you."
With that reassurance she quickly ran off to the rock closest to the waterfall. I watched as she stuck her hand in the water and her smile grew. Seeing almost her child like excitement with the scenery made my heart soar. I felt proud to have been able to give her this spot. She took off the jacket she had thrown on this morning and sat where the water would be able to splash her with some mist. I could see another long cold shower in my future.
I had been meditating for about an hour when I decided to take a break to see if I could notice anything. I wasn't expecting anything in a short period of time but my curiosity got the better of me. I felt more relaxed for sure. What I hadn't expected though was to feel like moving was easier. Almost as if I was lighter or something.
Realizing that simple meditation was actually doing something I quickly went back to my spot to continue meditating. I didn't dare to take breaks to test my progress. Now that I knew it was truly doing something I wanted to become stronger as soon as possible. While I wasn't sure about life long mate with Wilder, I had started to fall for him easily. He always treated me with respect and like a princess almost. The care he put forth already spoke to me. That mischievous smile was my weakness too. If I had known him when we were younger I had a feeling we would have caused havoc together rather well. Then there was the fact that some unknown people, who could have possibly been the same people who killed my father, were after me. If I wanted to go against them I needed to be stronger. My current ability was heavily lacking.
"We should head home."
The sudden noise startled me. I opened my eyes surprised that he was saying we should leave when I realized it was dark. How long had we been here? Then I felt my stomach rumble with hunger. "Agreed. I'm starving!"
