Viro led his companions to a small door at the end of a narrowed corridor. The stairway appeared and guided them beneath the observatory, where a big gate showed up. Tamina wondered how he made it in such a place. It had an involute helical design on, while in the center you could see an empty circle, right the same size as walnut. Viro brought out a round necklace and placed it on the circle sign.
Viro trolled the thin walls of a second and fifth row on that helical, the door groaned and unlatched.
"Did you make this safe deposit?" Strandeer asked while being satisfied.
"It is not a safe deposit we still have a long way, what do you think?" Viro snickered confidently, very proud of himself.
"Amazingly complicated," Strandeer opened his hands wide open.
Tamina stood stiff so serious without any special attention, kept her sword hilt tightly between her fist walking behind them, "show us the way, Viro Jackson".
He stepped forth, pulled a lever and all lights turned on, "before we go I shall warn you that here I made deadly toils just as my ancestors had made to inaccessible treasures, I'm afraid you must be patient till I frustrate the first one or one of us will lose his head. So unsightly!"
Tamina sighed! He was too chatty explaining too much about details, "just hurry up!" she emphasized.
He raised his eyebrow, complained, "I warned that it is dangerous, aren't you going to even pretend that you're worried about me? What a hard heart you cruel princesses have!"
Elendeer sneered at that, but Strandeer glowered at him.
"My people are getting killed I'm not here to listen to some humbug", he stared into her eyes, Viro swallowed and without saying extra stepped in.
His feet landed on the first sign of gold, a ring and a clue inside it engraved on a gray square shape glazed tile. One after another he passed them all carefully to make sure he won't slip away. He had embedded a sharp tiny blade inside the wall, a wrong sign could bring him a painful death. One of those small blades was able to dive deep into a vein or tear up your flesh.
He reached the end wall and stood still on one foot because the square didn't have enough space for both. Three pieces of dark stones laid on the back wall, orderly in a vertical column lined the right front of him. He pressed the first one twice and the others three times although he had built that trap, but sweated out of stress. He puffed in the air and lifted his head, "safe now, you can get in".
Strandeer and Elendeer looked at each other not sure if the path is safe. Tamina ignored those two and entered first.
"Well, she trusts him, let's go", Strandeer murmured.
Viro strode to the left vestibule and they followed him back, meanwhile arrived in a hall and passed it.
"Here is another trap, but already locked", Viro mentioned.
They rushed through three other vestibules and turned to a hall with a short ceiling, thus, had to lower their head.
"How long we have before us to reach there?" Strandeer asked, because of being taller than others had to be bowed.
"Here we are!" The third hall he intended. There was no wall, but stairs acceding underground. Above all palisade, a colorful stone settled in. He walked into the green sign and they went after him.
As soon as the stairs ended they stopped, amazed by the spectacular scene ahead of them. "This isn't your work! An underground gill slit!" Tamina averred. There was a bridge passed along on gill slit. They walked through it.
Viro gesticulated above their head, "Of course not, I can't build a city in such a short time while making the observatory we found here".
Strandeer zoomed on the ceiling, "what an ominous had resulted in? It reminds me of the old world of the lost city, Edarose creed who had extinct about five thousand years ago, the eagle-like people without any survivors. Tell me if I'm wrong. Very similar!"
"Not only similar but exactly is the lost city, the city of people with the power of transforming to eagle shape".
"If they could change to an eagle why didn't run away?" Elendeer asked.
"The acidic rain had poisoned out of intention or not I have no idea… I don't know what had happened here, but a terror." Viro answered seemed very curious to search more about them.
"How it deepened this much or even had contrariwise? Only the city part so illogical!" Tamina was amazed, but couldn't comprehend, whereas there was no reason.
Viro pointed to the corner edges, clear to see slipped on each other, "Landform on the case of the planet could impact, but not this much, here is marvelous isn't it? Whereas I discovered here had been made underground the houses are bird nest-like, the sinuses in each corner side led a fine light within, safe from flood for being in highlands, but after the incident, it buried under metal and sands. They made their city on an ambulant undersurface may be intentionally or not, it is very complicated, I found a book here I'll show you at a right time, now let's speed up".
They transited along the bridge. The last hall was filled with colorful glasses, and Viro turned to them, "for the safety of yourself stay out here, I'll be here soon".
Tamina with a rough tone sound protested, "how come?"
The princess was strong and wise, but anytime rage overcame her she wouldn't behave very smart. Viro rolled his eyes down, couldn't confess that he doesn't trust Elendeer while a man always believed that vigilance is a condition of intelligence to be safe from snacks in the grass.
"I don't mean to affront, but here have toils that I can't lock so better to keep you away from risk on the last part".
"My lady he is right", Strandeer was behind Elendeer so she realized what the real reason is, "so move on don't waste the precious time".
