As the elevator came down to the first floor, Chris took a step out.
Surveying the room, he noticed Cybel propped up against the wall, with Ema fast asleep on a nearby couch.
"What in the world..."
Upon further inspection, he realized that Cybel had a wire connecting her to an outlet.
"Ah..." Chris mumbled.
"I have to say it's kind of creepy seeing such a human-like body plugged in like that..." He chuckled nervously.
He then walked over to the couch where Ema was lying.
"Oi," he began.
"Ema," he continued, poking her cheek.
No response.
"Goodness gracious..." Chris grumbled, rolling up his sleeves.
He then proceeded to lift the sleeping Ema off of the couch.
"Let's get you to bed already..." He mumbled, carrying her towards her bedroom.
As he laid her down, pulling the covers over her, he let out a sigh.
"Listen," he began.
"I know you're not used to sudden change," he frowned.
"Neither am I," he paused, looking down steadily.
"However I must say you're handling this pretty well..." He whispered with a sincere smile.
"I'm glad you'll finally have friends your own age," he said, standing up.
"Goodnight, Ema." He whispered, closing the door behind him.
As he walked out, he looked over at Cybel who was still charging.
"As for you," he began.
"We'll try and upgrade you to wireless charging so you won't have to sleep sitting up every night." He laughed to himself.
"Goodnight, Cybel." He whispered, gently stroking her head.
As he stepped into the elevator, he smiled to himself.
"I guess the Huser family really did get bigger..." He then narrowed his eyes.
"I'm sure you would've loved to be here to experience this, huh gramps?" He closed his eyes, smiling.
"Rest assured, pops and I have got it from here!" He laughed, as a single tear rolled down his cheek.
