They began walking to the colosseum. The sun was finally setting. When the villagers started to see Mika, and Akando some of their strongest warriors. Heading to the arena they began to follow out of curiosity. It didnt take long before a massive group was being gathered behind them. Astrid was by a tipi talking to a woman with long black hair, and red eyes. She had beautifully tan skin and was dressed in the same outfit that Mika had. She had some strange tattoo that resembled runes going up both her forearms. Even with her chest tightly wrapped, you could tell she was well endowed. When Astrid saw Sven walking with a group she quickly went to see what was happening.
"This is Sven the one I was talking about. Sven, I want you to meet Nova. She's the lamia I mentioned before. Where are you off to?" Astrid said as she quickly grabbed onto him, and began to follow him.
Nova didnt seem to happy when she saw this. She was quickly drawn to Astrid when they first spent time together, and it was why she tried to get her to join the sanctuary to begin with. When she saw this was the man Astrid desired. That he could so easily get Astrid to come along with him. It caused her to immediately see him as an enemy.
" Nice to meet you, Nova," Sven said quickly introducing himself, before going on to talk to Astrid.
"I told some of the hunters here, about the harpies we heard about. Then someone started complaining that I should prove myself if I wish to join them. Even though it was my suggestion, to begin with." Sven said in an irritable tone.
"This will be fun to see. Where is Helga? Thought she would be back with you by now." Astrid asked while she glanced around for her.
"Last I heard from her was she was going to the colosseum to search for another siren. Haven't seen her since. Guess we will be seeing her in a minute though. " Sven replied.
They finally made it to the colosseum. Mika placed her hand on the wall of the colosseum as she poured lunar energy into it. The stone began to illuminate. Quickly making it as bright as day around the structure. After she did this the people began to quickly fill up the arena. Sven had never seen a structure like this before, wondering who could've designed it. Astrid went up to sit in the crowd with Nova, as Sven was lead down a hallway near the entrance. While Astrid found a spot to sit down, she saw Helga walking in with another woman. She had red hair tied up in a bun, and green eyes. She was dressed in armor like a Dane. When she saw Astrid she said goodbye to the women and went to join her.
"Just in time to watch Sven in action. Did you have some fun with your friend? Maybe some of the things I was teaching you before." Astrid said while winking at her.
"Don't say such things in public. " Helga said before sitting down.
Nova didnt seem to mind the remark to Helga. She didnt mind another woman or man to join her, and Astrid. So long as it wasn't Sven. It was just all Astrid talked about was him, and it irritated her.
After being led through some corridors he was in a room filled with weapons.
"You may choose from the weapons here in this room if you like. Good luck in their Sven. I'll be in the stands. Akando said he was gonna send someone out before I lead you in here. So someone should be waiting for you already. After that, you may get a challenge from the crowd. It is fine to refuse or continue. The arena is warded so you don't have to worry about holding back the people will be safe." Mika said before walking back the way they came in.
Sven wasn't going to use a weapon. Since he's not sure what kind of warrior he could be facing. He was more confident in his claws. He walked down the tunnel as the light began to shine at the end, and he could hear the loud voices booming inside. When he walked out into the arena a stone wall closed behind him. The first thing he noticed inside was runes completely covering the walls in the arena. So many people were watching down from above. Sven was starting to get nervous. He's never had so many people looking at him before. Out the other side walked a big tan man, with short black hair, and brown eyes. He was wearing hide pants and leather wrist guards. He had a club in one hand, and an axe in the other.
"You may begin!" Mika yelled.
The man wasted no time, he quickly poured energy into his weapon as the stone axe was engulfed with fire. He threw it towards Sven, as he quickly ducked under to dodge it. Sven closed in ready to end the fight quickly. The man begins to swing down his club, as the runes began to glow on it. Sven was focusing the energy in his hand as he did in his last fight hoping to shatter the flimsy weapon. The second it made contact with Sven he could feel his bones shattering. How could a club of wood, and stone be so powerful?
The power from the runes had to be the cause of this. Sven kicked the man in the stomach to knock him back. He held back most of the force unaware if his opponent was a human or not. Not wanting to kill the man. When the warrior landed after wiping the blood from his mouth he immediately held his hand out. He realized what he was doing. It must have been his plan all along. Sven felt a sharp pain in his back. The axe was being called back like how Helga recalled her bow. Everyone here is indeed using runes or magic. Helga mentioned before that someone who could activate weapon runes to imbue it with elements was a magic-user. Runes to reinforce the durability of weapon worked for everyone, and Sven should've noticed this at the start of the fight when his axe lit up. He was just to cocky in his abilities.
The man began to charge forward to continue his attack. While charging he chanted. When he finished the flames in his Svens back began to rapidly spread. Sven realizing he can't take it easy on someone whos working as smart as this. He ignored the flames and charged forward leaping in the air. He delivered a swift quick to the man's face as he flew back into the wall being knocked out. He ripped the axe from his back as if he wasn't bothered by the flames. Quickly shattering the weapon in his hands as fire dissipated. Akando couldn't believe his eyes. He could easily endure the flames and shattered a weapon made from the great tree with ease.
Some old man jumped into the arena, and quickly placed a silver medallion on the man's chest. It began to glow as a green aura covered the man quickly healing his wounds. The old man was a healer from the village, and a level four mage. He spent most nights storing vast amounts of energy into his trinkets for moments like this. It was his duty to tend to those in the arena. He quickly started a chant, as a thin layer of the earth came up beneath the man. He used it as a stretcher to quickly carry him out of the arena so they can continue.
