Chapter 2 - Prologue

Baba, please!"

"Baby let me go."

"No, if I let you go, you won't come back. You'll leave your little princess."

Little Nazpari started crying, pulling at her father's hand.

"Naz darling, this is important. If you really love me than no matter what, I'll come back."

"But momma said, that you're going. That your going to abandon us, and going faraway."

"Your mother told you that?"

Her father asked her, and she nodded.

"Yes, baba."

She replied, sniffing.

"Baby, don't worry. I know you're upset but whenever you feel like talking to me," He pointed at a star, which was glowing over their heads, twinkling, and shining, and winking at the pair of father and daughter.

"But baba, how will the stars listen to me? Will they tell you what I said?"

Little Nazpari, innocently peered up at her father.

"Naz, you know, when you think about the purest of wishes, and when you want to talk to your father wholeheartedly than no one will ever stop you from talking to me. You and I have a bond, a sacred bond that will never break, even if I am thousand of miles apart. You're my daughter and I love you no matter the distance between us."

Seven years old Nazpari, looked up to see tears swimming in her father's honey-brown eyes.

"So, whenever you want to talk to me, what will you do?"

Her father lovingly asked, picking up his beautiful daughter in his arms.

"I will tell everything to the stars!"

Little Nazpari, looked admiringly at her father, and gave him a goofy smile.

"Very good. My little baby."

He kissed her, on her forehead and put her down on the floor gently.

It seemed as if he also didn't wanted to leave his daughter, but he had to.

Giving her a last smile, he walked away from the sitting child.

The pain.

The pain she feels

Why did she feel so hollow?

Why did they call her an orphan?

Why did they peer and jeer at her?

What has she done?

Only one thing was her solace. Her solace from this dreary world.  The only thing, that will give her peace.

Peace of mind.

Peace of body.

Peace of soul.

Everything which she had taken for granted, she now craved. She craved her father's pat. She craved her father's loving eyes. She craved those heroic words and that beautiful smile, which was a reflection of hers.

Pulling open the drawer, she took out the only thing that gave her solace. That slowed down, her fast beating heart.

Her secret.

Her weapon against her own self

Her coping mechanism.

Where is she? Where the hell is SHE?"

He roared, his hands shaking as he stood there not being able to comprehend, what he was listening.

"Adnan bhai! She is gone! And  I-I couldn't do anything!

She sobbed, her shoulders shaking as well.

Her friend, her sister....gone!

"They..they took her. Snatched her, gagging her, aiming the pistol at my head...she was enslaved bhai!"

Her tear stricken face, looming from behind mother's bosom.

"I am not going to fucking let them live. I am going to strangle that pathetic life out of them, and going to tear their necks apart!"

He roared, making everyone flinch at his words.

"Fuck off! I dont want to hear your pathetic excuses!"

He growled at her, making her retreat a few steps backwards.

"But...but..I thought you"

She stammered, in fear. The anger in eyes, making her words falter.

"What did you thought? Did it look I am ready?"

He roared like a maniac, who has ranaway from an asylum.

"But, I.."

"This is a mistake. It's a mistake. Your being here is a mistake. A mistake I made, and I am going to make it right."

Saying this, he wrapped his hand around her fragile neck, and started to throttle her viciously.

She gasped for air, her delicate nosetrils flarring and deflaring at his actions.

Instinctively, her hands began scratching at his arms, begging for him to pull away. His grip on her neck tightened even more.

With a jolt of lightening, he threw her across the room. Dark, hooded eyes gazed at her venomously, she gulped and stood up, wincing as she did so.

Feeling pain in her ribs, she flinched, but kept her eyes on his. He

was a breathing monster, who looked as if he wanted to bury her 6 feet under.

"You will regret this"

The only words she said, before she felt her head heavy.

Feeling to where the throbbing was emanating from, she saw blood on her fingers.

Extreme disgusted expression crossed her face, as she looked back at him, and felt her whole body heavy.

With that, she spiralled down in darkness, as agony and pain of what her husband did washed over her, like tidal waves hitting the beach.
