"Ooooooooooohhhhhhhh mmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyy ggggooooddddd" was all Rex heard as Ruby ran up to him as fast she could and began asking a butt load of question, that were too fast for him to understand. "Whatwasthatijustsaw. Howdidyoujustmakegiantmetalfists. Ohandthatbigsword. Howyoujustcutitinhalf. How..." questioned Ruby until Rex shushed her by putting his index finger on her lips.
"Calm down Ruby. I know you have a lot of questions but shouldn't we get out of this place first" said Rex.
"Rex is right" said Weiss. "While I too have questions about what you just did, Rex, we need to head back to Beacon.
"Right" said everyone in unison. They all began to head back while Ruby and a couple of the others continuously tried asking Rex about his powers but tried to dodge their questions.
Beacon Amphitheater
"Russel Thrust. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. The four of you have retrieve the black bishop pieces. From this day forward you will work together as.. Team CRDL (Cardinal), led by... Cardin Winchester." Ozpin said to the four boys in the auditorium, as the audience applauded.
"Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieve the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR (Juniper) led by Jaune Arc." Ozpin said shocking the male blonde.
"Huh me?" asked a shocked and confused Jaune Arc.
"Congratulations, young man." Ozpin congratulated, along with the newly first year students. The newly formed team celebrated with Nora jumping into Ren's arms and Pyrrha punching Jaune in the shoulder knocking him down making the audience in the room full of applause and laughter.
"Really. He's the leader. Figured red head would've been leader but whatever" thought Rex.
"Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you have retrieve the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you work together as Team RWBY (Ruby) led by... Ruby Rose." Ozpin said, surprising Ruby.
"I am so proud of you!" Yang shouted over the applause as she congratulated and hugged her younger half-sister.
Rex was happy for his new friend. He found it weird how a young kid like her became that teams leader. He just hoped her team can keep up with her antics. He also snickered at how the first letter of all 4 of their names spelled Ruby's name, just differently.
He walked over to Ruby and patted her in the back as he congratulated her and her team. They were about to leave, until Director Ozpin spoke out loud saying "Now before you all go, there's one more person that I'd like to introduce as well as talk about. Will you please come to the stage, Metal boy. I know that's not your name but I don't know it but I believe you know who you are."
Rex froze up when he heard the man call him out. Even if it wasn't for saying the nickname, he knew he was talking about him. He really didn't want to go up because he didn't know what to do when he got there. He also didn't know why he was being called up there. Was it good. Was it bad. He didn't know but Ruby and her team were also worried about what was going to happen.
Rex mustered up the courage and went out onto the stage. He stopped by Ozpin as he continued saying,
"Now standing before me is a boy I never believed that I would see in all my years of teaching at this academy. This boy has shown remarkable feats today" said Ozpin as he showed video footage of Rex and his fight with the two Grimm beasts. Rex froze up at the screen. Since he found out he wasn't in his world, he thought it'd be best not to make a scene but karma had different intentions for him.
Many "oohs" and "aahs" could be heard in the audience, while Ruby internally screamed seeing his powers.
"Never have I seen a man be able to grow metal from his body, as well as take on two very dangerous Grimm and succeed. You are truly a remarkable man, boy. But tell me, what is your name" he asked.
Rex looked at the old man and had thought about lying and making a fake name but then he remembered that he told the others his real name so if he did do that, it would be suspicious. So he knew he had no other choice.
"Its Rex. Rex Salazar."
" I see. Well Mr. Salazar, you really are an interesting boy. Unfortunately, you were not registered in our program. How did you end up in the Emerald Forest" questioned Ozpin. Rex didn't want people knowing that he was from a different world. They probably thought he was crazy. So he thought of the only thing he could think of.
"To be honest, I don't know how I ended up in it too. All I remember was waking up in that forest and seeing Ruby. She said she found me just lying on the ground so I don't really know. Anything before that is just a blur. Sorry" said Rex as his voice echoed in the auditorium, where Ruby and her team heard him.
Ruby felt sorry for Rex. She was the one that knocked him out and she was a the one that found him out in the forest and thought that he might've wondered in by accident and didn't think much about him. She felt bad but she knew that she was going to try and help him.
"I see" said Ozpin. "Well, I am sorry my dear boy that your memories aren't the best and normally I would say since you didn't register here that you can't be a part of this academy" as Ruby hung her head feeling sad that Rex couldn't stay.
"But, after seeing your abilities and how you fought those two Grimm, I am giving you a chance here. I believe that with your abilities, you could become a mighty huntsman as well as a warrior. So I'm giving you a choice. To either form your own team or join any of our current teams" said Ozpin.
Hearing his options, Rex didn't know what to do. Joining a team did sound fun but not as fun as forming his own team. Rex knew he still needed info so he figured which one would be the best decision.
"I pick Team RWBY" shouted Rex as he pointed to them, hearing some "whoos" from Yang and Ruby.
"Very well then. From hence forth, your team shall be called Team RRBWY, again led by Ruby Rose" said Ozpin rolling his R's when saying RRWBY.
Rex walked down the stage as he was greeted with hugs from Ruby and Yang.
"Yay. I'm so happy you decided to join our team, Rex" said Ruby, jumping for joy.
"Yea, you definitely chose the right team here, cutie" said Yang with a flirty look as she put her elbow on Rex's shoulders as he blushed at her comment.
"Get off of him Yang" said Weiss as she pushed her off of Rex. "Try and act a little civil, will you."
"Can you try and not act like an Ice Queen" snapped Yang back at Weiss.
"Stop calling me that" screamed Weiss. "Can we go now" said Rex as he didn't want to put up with more bickering.
Beacon dorms
Rex and the girls arrived in their dorms and saw that there were 5 beds in it instead of their typical 4 beds.
"Now hold on. I'm starting to see an issue here" said Weiss.
"And what is that" said Ruby.
"There's 4 girls here and one guy. You had better not be one of those boys that has fantasies about things like this" scolded Weiss
"Wow. Not even a day and already you think so low of me. Do I seriously look like the guy that would enjoy something like that" retorted Rex.
"Well any girl with a brain would easily see a situation like this" said Weiss
"I didn't think about it until you said it. Are you saying that we don't have brains cause that's just mean" said Ruby, feeling depressed now.
"Well no I'm not saying that but..."
"Ok, listen. We just formed a team together today. We shouldn't be fighting already. Can't we just look past this and go to bed" exclaimed Rex.
"Fine. I suppose you do have a point. We have classes tomorrow so we do need our sleep" said Weiss
"Are you sure you don't want to sleep with me in my bed" flirted Yang.
"Nope. I'll stick to my own bed, thank you" snapped Rex after hearing Yang's suggestion.
"Don't you start doing stuff like that. Then we might end up with a problem like I explained" said Weiss.
"I want to throw her out the window for making me seem like a bad guy" thought Rex.
"WAIT" said Ruby as she ran to Rex and clung to his jacket.
"You never told me about those powers of yours. Is it your semblance or your weapon. If so, show me how. Please please please tell me about them" pleaded Ruby with puppy dog eyes.
"Look Ruby I'll tell you in the future. Right now, I'm tired and I want to get to sleep" said Rex as he laid down on his new bed.
Ruby moaned in sadness that she had to wait longer and got into bed. It wasn't long till everyone was asleep, but Rex.
He was still lost in thought about his current predicament. Here, he was in a world he had never seen before. There's no nanites and these creatures of grimm seem to be a common thing here. But why. What does it all mean. Why is he here. Who sent him here. So many thoughts clouded his mind, he eventually tired himself out and fell asleep.
