Chapter 81 - Eighty

There were too many of us to reach the palace undetected, so I asked the sailors to trust me and they did. I warned them that they wouldn't remember most of the trip, so Nathaniel, George, and I promised to fill them in when we got to our destination. Some of them were a bit apprehensive about the idea of being turned into toys, but we didn't have a choice, and time wasn't on our side either.

They eventually agreed and after I turned them the next morning, George, Nathaniel and I planned to take turns riding the wolf to the palace. I was first up. I turned Nathaniel and George into toys and put them in a bag that had washed up on shore. The girl turned to a wolf, and I got on her back and followed the tracking spell that I had cast. I rode until dusk and hid at night.

The next morning, I woke Nathaniel and I slept on his back as we rode towards the palace. By night we were outside the palace, so I brought George back and we made a plan to break in. We had the girl protect the bag in the woods as we went back into the palace through the secret passage we had escaped from. Once inside, we knocked out some guards, took their uniforms and cast Merlin's infamous detection spell. The one that made us look different to others.

We went to the dungeons to find Elizabeth and the others, and on our way there, we ran into Paul. He didn't recognize us because of the spell, but that didn't mean Nathaniel and George couldn't recognize him. George immediately tensed up and I held him back as Nathaniel lied about our destination. I saw his fist tremble as he spoke to him, but he let us go, before one of us swung at him.

We reached the dungeon and knocked out the guards by the cells, allowing me to speak with Elizabeth for a short while. She told me that everyone was to be publicly executed the at dawn, starting with her.

George and Nathaniel were horrified by the news, but it helped me quite a bit. I told her that my plan wouldn't work unless her execution was carried out, and that confused everyone around us.
