Chapter 14 - 014 | queen of liar?

Natasha didn't expect that it would be quiet, but she knew the others were talking about her and Baker in secret without her knowing. What was her basis? Her hunch told her so.

It still made her uncomfortable, but she needed to ignore it until it all came to pass.

It wasn't wise to tell it was a lie. She had no evidence Charlotte did it, but considering what happened recently, it was only logical to suspect Charlotte. If so, Charlotte outdid her first before she could, and that frustrated her.

She could refute Charlotte if only Baker cooperated, but that case seemed to be impossible. She didn't want to get herself involved again with Baker or she would sink herself even further in the trap of lie.

So far, she didn't get into trouble. She expected she would be with Charlotte, but even Charlotte got her lips shut. Charlotte didn't even tell a single word against her.

Judging the situation, she assumed that there were three kinds of people who had their opinions regarding the alleged photos of her and Baker.

One, people who easily believed that it was true. She believed that majority of people population would believe what they saw first without finding out what truly transpired. Two, people who believed that the photos used a camera technique, angle manipulation. Based on those photos, she could prove that she wasn't kissed by Baker because of how the photos were taken. Three, people who didn't show care about those photos of her and Baker.

She didn't want to think about it because it would just induce troubling thoughts.

She resumed eating her packed lunch until her lunchbox became clear. She proceeded to the female restroom to wash her lunchbox and spoon and fork. She forgot to bring her water jug because she was in a hurry, so she would definitely purchase a water drink at the vending machine.

"Shouldn't we call Queen of Hearts as Queen of Liar at this point?"

She didn't intend to listen to what the person told, but because it was too loud, she heard it. She wasn't surprised to hear that from somebody else because those photos at first glance would seem to regard her as a liar.

She went to proceed to the nearest vending machine. She placed coins as her payment and then pressed the Évian mineral water drink. She took it from the take out part of the vending machine.

She twisted the cap to open it and then had a drink until she was satisfied and refreshed. She would drink the rest later.

She didn't want to get late to the Social Studies class of Means, so she went back to the classroom.

Means went into the classroom at the exact time. He started the discussion that was needed to be learned by the students.

She took her notes and her Social Studies book from her backpack. She turned the page of the book on 16 as what Means instructed.

It was dismissal time, so the other students went home while the others remained because of other business they had in the school.

She was on her way home when she felt her phone vibrated. She fished her phone in the pocket of her skirt. She didn't hesitate to answer the call because it was from Cassie.

"What's up, Cass?" she hoped she wouldn't get yelled by Cassie for not sending a reply in the morning.

"What do you mean 'what's up', huh!?" Cassie sounded mad. "I was expecting a reply from you at least even three periods would do!"

As expected, Cassie was mad about it, so she would apologize. "I'm sorry I didn't. It's just... I don't know what to reply honestly."

Cassie realized she raised her voice a while ago, so she gasped. "I didn't mean to be mad like that. I'm sorry as well."

"Don't worry about me, Cass," she hoped that it was easy to make Cassie agree with this, but she wouldn't expect it was easy, to begin with.

"I won't?" Cassie couldn't just do that. "You know I can't do that."

She had something to tell, so Cassie wouldn't be that much worried. "Nothing happened at school. I'm serious."

Cassie wasn't convinced. "You also do know that isn't so convincing, Nat."

"I thought so," she expected this would happen. "But please, believe me, Cass."

Cassie decided she would believe Natasha. "All right. I trust you, and you do know that, Nat."

She smiled. "Thanks, Cass. I'll tell you right away if something happened at school."

"Nothing happened at school, yeah that's for sure if you say so, but you're not fine with this lie," Cassie just knew that there was no way Natasha was fine with it.

"Of course," she had a hollow chuckle. "It's a lie after all."
