Chapter 8 - 008 | her tomorrow

"You will become miserable, Margaux."

**

Natasha didn't know why she dreamt of that someone once more. She must have been stressed thinking about what would occur later.

She sat bolt upright and then looked at the clock that was on the nightstand. She wasn't that surprised that she woke up too soon.

She couldn't get herself back sleep because of that dream, a bad dream.

She decided that she would cook breakfast, so she wouldn't have her father do it. She didn't know if going to school early was a good idea, but she needed to face the school no matter what.

She prepared her mind that what would possibly occur later in the school wouldn't go as what she hoped for.

She left a memo on the refrigerator, informing her parents that she would be leaving first.

**

She wanted to stop her heart from beating so fast because of anxiety. She chanted that she would be all right, but she couldn't even stop thinking about what would happen as she was drawing closer to the school.

She didn't bother to check her school locker because she was too afraid of what would she see. She went straight to the classroom, but she didn't expect what just unfolded.

Her knees wobbled in fear, losing her balance, so she ended up sitting on the floor because she recalled something unpleasant.

She saw her desk was vandalized with hurtful words like whore, liar, bitch, witch, manipulator, etc. She surmised that the culprit might have been Lawrence or someone who knew Lawrence like Charlotte or Sophia because no one knew about the incident yesterday other than Lawrence.

She breathed in and out to make herself calm.

She didn't know how would she clean her desk, but she wanted to erase the hurtful words. She didn't want to cause any more attention to the others, so with trembling hands, she unzipped her backpack to get tissue and hand sanitizer. She wasn't certain if using a hand sanitizer would do the job of erasing, but she hoped it was that simple.

But it was impossible to erase no matter how many times she attempted to wipe it off with hand sanitizer.

"Oh, it's Queen of Hearts," she heard one of her classmates, Isabella Fox, came in.

"Her desk looks awful," one of her classmates who came in with Isabella, Addison Scarlett, commented.

"Who would even do an awful thing?" Isabella asked.

"I don't know," Addison shrugged. "It's none of my concern. And you shouldn't get yourself involved, Bell."

She also heard that someone came in besides Isabella and Addison.

"Oh, what happened to the liar?" she heard the voice of Charlotte.

She surmised that Charlotte knew about the incident yesterday.

Isabella raised an eyebrow. "Liar? What liar, Charlotte?"

"Oh, you know, our Miss Queen of Hearts!" Charlotte got straight to the point.

"What?" Isabella didn't get it.

"What did I tell you earlier, Bell?" Addison asked. "Let us not get ourselves involve—" but before Addison could even finish her reminder—

"Our Miss Queen of Hearts turns out to be a major liar! She's been dismissing the feelings of her admirers because she told that she wants to focus on her studies first, but it turns out she has a boyfriend!" it didn't matter if others wouldn't believe what she told, but she wanted to spread it. "What a major liar, right!?"

She didn't know what she did wrong to the point this would happen. She didn't want to be trampled by someone who didn't know the exact truth, so she would fight back.

"Major liar? Major liar?" she stopping wiping her desk to glare at Charlotte. "I don't know if you were behind this or others did, but you can't prove I'm a major liar because you have no evidence to present other than your unreliable account, you shithead!"

Charlotte was shocked utterly because she didn't know that Natasha was capable of cussing. "S-Shithead!?"

"You heard me damn well, shithead!" she repeated.

"All right. That's enough," one of her classmates, Liam Speaker, stepped in to stop Charlotte and Natasha.

"Enough!?" Charlotte didn't want it to end. "Miss Queen of Hearts started it! Believe me that she's a major liar!"

"Can you shut up, Miss Jeans?" Liam didn't want to have a headache in the early morning. "You have no proof of that."

"You defend that major liar, Mister Speaker!?" Charlotte couldn't believe how the situation didn't turn on her favor. "I can't believe you're defending that major liar! This isn't supposed to happen!" she stormed out of the classroom.

Liam was thankful that it got quiet. He didn't want to hear noises in the early morning.

Natasha wouldn't let this incident slip. She would certainly report this to the guidance, so the culprit behind this would be punished.

She might be safe for now, but she had a feeling Charlotte wouldn't forfeit, so she needed evidence to prove Charlotte wrong as well before the baseless deduction would spread.

She hoped that Cassie succeeded talking to Baker, so she could end where the lie started.
