Takai-san's tiny mouth opened to reveal a row of sharp, dirty teeth. Hotaka shielded himself with his arms. Takai-san bit him in the arm, and swung his head around the room. Hotaka was sent flying across the other side.
Hotaka's whole world spun, everything was all a blur until his back made contact with the bookshelves. If he didn't know any better, this world felt like a REAL reality. The pain he felt from slamming into the wall, the spit he coughed out from impact and the dizziness he felt upon falling to the floor. Breathing and even moving was painful. Did he actually break something?

"?" Hotaka looked up in time to see that Takai-san also seemed fixated on the crystal in the tank.

"Urrrrrrrrr-ahhhhhhhhhh!" Takai-san was convulsing from just the touch of the cylinder. His bones protruded out of his spine, forcing his back to curve. His skin blackened and his fingernails elongated. A black impish tail forced its way out of Takai-san's tailbone forcing a cry out of him that sounded like a dozen Takai's screaming at once.
The noise hurt Hotaka's ears. What was going on? Why wasn't his ward showing up? Was this really real? Was he truly going to die in a place like this?
