Chapter 105 - CHAPTER 104: how have you been.

("Yes, bring them as soon as you can.")

With that I had given Noah a quick reply.

I swiftly disposed of the remains of the two men and collected their souls for later use.

I had not much else to do after that, so I just sat down and waited for them to arrive.

During this time, Beatrice was constantly by my side. She was blankly staring into the distance with a soft smile on her lips. She did not move, nor say a word while her mind was somewhere off in the clouds.

A part of me wanted to dig further into her mind to see why she was so delighted. But I decided not to.

After all it would only scare her. Thus, completely ruining her mood.

After a few minutes passed I noticed something. It was a dark ominous presence. But I did not know where it came from.

It was like the shadows had come to life and were slowly closing in. observing every movement and listening to every sound. Yet they did not interfere.

I did not know why. It seemed so powerful. Why did it not do anything?

Suddenly the presence disappeared. Like dust blown away by a strong wind.

It was like it was never even there.

I looked around the room. Hoping to spot a glimpse of the remains of the being. Alas nothing could be found.

I shrugged it off as my mind just playing tricks. Afterall it seemed like Beatrice did not notice a thing.

Roughly half an hour lather I finally noticed the first sings of the group approaching.

In my excitement I ruched to the top of one of the buildings so that I could look over the large grassy plain in front of me.

And there they were. They had not seen me yet and they were simply following Noah.

I jumped off the roof and flew towards them as fast as I could.

Right before I crashed into the ground, I flapped my giant wings a few times so slow down my speed. The wind that came from these powerful movements made all the sand and dust fly up. Leaving them to immediately close their eyes so that they would not get it in their eyes.

As soon as the dust settled, they opened their eye sone by one.

They stood there in silence for a moment.

Then Allenya ruched forward and pulled me into a hug. I was a bit startled and I did not dare to move at this point.

If I did I micht accidentally cut her with my scales, so I had no choice but to endure her embrace.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain at the end of my tail. I managed to turn my head just far enough to see Alex standing there with a mischievous grin.

"Don't you ever dare to disappear for so long again, ever!"

"You said ever twice." I chuckled.

"So? I just want you to know that you can't just do something like that again."

"Fine… can you now please get off my tail?"

With a wide smug he stepped off my tail and shortly after Allenya decided to free me again. I did not smell any blood; therefore, it was safe to assume that she didn't cut herself on my scales.

"You sure have grown a lot." The dwarf commented with a deep frown.

I was sure that it looked funny to see me stand in front of the dwarf. Since I was around four meters tall and he was just the size of a seven-year-old.

"So, how have you all been while I was gone?"

"Oh, you know, ups and downs and stuff. Oh, and Elisa is dating that weird elf guy." Elisa's face turned red as soon as Allenya mentioned the elf.

I gave a deep sigh in response. "That's just great."

I still did not really like Nathan. But if Elisa is really into him, then he couldn't be that bad.

"And how have you been?"

"Alex, how do you think hell is? It was not that fun. And I only came back to this world around a month ago. So, there is not much to say about that."

He scratched his neck as he quickly tried to come up with a better question.

" Oh… then, how did you even find this place?"

But the dwarf interrupted before I could answer.

"I think a better question is. How did you get in? there might be a mayor flaw in the security system."

"I used illusions on the guards so that they would not be able to see the crystals light up."

The dwarf rubbed his chin.

"If that is the case then we should probably instal some devises that can also make sounds."

I did not really like that idea since it would make it harder for me to go unnoticed. But I understood that it was pretty important that this place was guarded well. Therefore, I did not try to talk the dwarf out of it.

Furthermore, we talked about our experiences until it was getting late and they eventually left with the promise that they would come back tomorrow.
