Now that I was in. I tried to contact Noah and Beatrice again. they were both relieved that I made it through without directing any unwanted attention to myself.
They were currently both following a team leader of sorts to the places where various jobs were available. The captain was already going back to his ship. Most likely to prepare it for the next trip to bring even more people over.
I had at the moment not much of an idea about what I should do now. I obviously wanted to take revenge on Gert and the man that killed me. but I also wanted to see how Allenya and the others were doing. How did the situation of me being killed impact them or did they take part in it behind the scenes?
I originally wanted to wait until it was dark so that less people would have the chance to notice me. but this place, much like the stone city, had no day and night cycle. There were only periods of time where more people slept. And above that. There were detection crystals everywhere.
Of course, the ones at the gate were the largest and finest, but that did not mean that smaller ones could not be placed all around Atlantis.
Moving around would be a real bother for me. tough as long as Beatrice and Noah did not come to close. They would be fine.
With that information I made up a plan.
I would remain on the outskirts of Atlantis, far away from most of the detection devices. Noah would try to check up upon Allenya, Elisa, Alex, and the dwarf. And Beatrice would look for the man that killed me and Gert. She had been separated from the group for a much longer time, so the chances were bigger that they would not recognise her than when I sent Noah.
I told my plan to them and advised them to just take part in the small tour that they were given now. just like anyone else. This to get as much information as possible and to not stand out.
Naturally, they both agreed. Therefore, I remained hidden until they had made any progressions.
The place I hid for the months that came after that was like a miniature version of Atlantis itself. With a circle of statues surrounding, it and a few buildings in the middle. I had seen more of these places all around Atlantis and they were all abandoned.
The place was practically in ruins with broken pieces of rock lying everywhere. Unlike in the stone city there was grass instead of just tall moss.
Of course, moss did still grow on the buildings and the rocks that had fallen off.
And despite the state of the buildings the temperature still remained comfortable and the smell was also not that bad.
I mostly spent my time there waiting inside one of the buildings for anything to change and talking to Noah and Beatrice. Even if it was from a long distance. I had even made a chair of some of the flat rocks I found.
One thing that I did realise was that the detection crystals would emit warning lights a lot easier when I was looking through the eyes of Beatrice or Noah. And I could maintain the connection over immense distances. It was only hard for me to enter one's mind when such a distance was between us.
This I tried to keep in contact with them despite the heightened risk. I would just barely be present in the back of their minds in order to lower that risk as much as possible.
(Master, I found them. I have managed to convince them that I had found some strange claw markings when I was looking for herbs on the outskirts of Atlantis. We will arrive in about half an hour.)
I grinned widely when I heard Beatrice's message. it had been way to long since I chatted with my friend Gert.
I stood up from my stone chair and decided to make a few of those strange claw marks to make it easier for Beatrice to lead them here.
Thus, I scratched some of the buildings. A high piercing shriek was heard when my claws scraped the almost metallic stone.
The marks were fairly visible, and I decided that my work was done for now.
I hid in one of the more collapsed ruins, simply because I liked how this one still had a lot of shadows yet was still easily accessible.
Much like Beatrice said, I could already pick up their scents and their chatting also became more and more noticeable.
