I crossed my arms. "Let me go? You didn't even capture me."
The man charge at me with the sword in his right hand and the cross in his left. His sword swiftly flew through the air leaving a metallic flash. I managed to doge the first attack.
However, he had foreseen my moves. With only a small movement of his arm he managed to hit me with the cross. I fought the urge to roar out in pain afraid that it would alert the guards.
("If I were to face that many opponents I would have no chance of escape.")
He jumped in the air with his sword ready. I dodged again. this time he only hit my hood casing it to fall off.
The figure landed behind me and resumed to charge. Without turning around to face him I managed to click him over with my tail when he tried to jump again. he landed on his side.
Now that he lay defenceless on the ground I grabbed him by his collar and pushed him against the wall with my right hand. With my left I took away his weapons before I put my face right behind his.
"I told you, I don't want to fight."
I dropped him. With a loud smack he landed on the wooden floor. This action made his mask fall from his face. He stood up while grabbing his mask. And he turned to face me.
The skin of the man was pale and smooth, his eyes were more cat like however still had a round pupil. His eyes held a sky blue colour and his hair was black as the night. But his most noticeable feature were his pointy ears.
My yaw dropped. "You're an elf!?"
Elves were incredibly rare. Like dwarfs, most of them perished during the great war. And since those races didn't reproduce at a fast phase their population remained really small nearing extinction.
Even with is light eyes, he managed to shoot me a darker gaze than Gert had ever done.
I closed my eyes and shook my head. I still couldn't believe that I had encountered an actual elf.
I managed to quickly clam my thoughts.
"You said you were from the stone city. Tell me. How much do they know about demons."
He wiped the blood from his nose.
"Stupid demon. We know everything about your kind."
He was confused to see how I stared to grin. The tip of my tail tapped on the ground in excitement.
"Really? Are you absolutely sure?"
Even if I couldn't enter his mind I could still see his soul. It shined bright from all the power it possessed. I stared at it with greed in my eyes. I really wanted it. I wanted to rip out his throat so the streets would be died red with life fluid and his soul would slip out of his body.
I liked my lips while I kept staring at the soul. With all my fore I managed to hold myself back and the feeling slowly faded.
However my reaction had inspired fear in his mind. I simply could cense it radiating from him. I chuckled when seeing his terrified expression.
"You have my gratitude elf."
I turned around and pulled my hood over my head while activating my illusion.
("At least I now know for sure that the stone city has some knowledge about demons.")
The elf didn't follow as expected. The difference in strength was simply to big, also he could probably track me down whenever he wanted to.
I was a bit worried about the others. ( "Although it's not likely to happen, the elf could use them as hostages. But I don't think that he believes that they are important to me. He probably thinks that I only see them as disposable tools or something.")
I quickly managed to find the others. They were standing in front of an store that sold various types of fishing tools.
Allenya grabbed my cloak. "Where have you."
"I am almost out of magic. I'm going back!"
I pulled my cloak out of her hands, still careful not to expose my red skin.
I turned my back to them and walked towards the inn.
