"He inhaled too much smoke from the incident. The rest were just minor injuries from his face, arms, and torso. For now, he is very unconscious and it's much better if he'll stay here for more than a week to keep him monitored but all in all, he's good," the doctor smiled at me reassuringly.
I smiled back at her and gave her my biggest thanks. I held onto Lucas' hand carefully, giving the back of it light kisses. He just needs a little rest. After all, Lucas is a fighter under any circumstance.
I woke up at six in the morning at the loud noises erupting from the small room.
"Who would've thought, Antoinette, your daughter and my son ending up together is just the perfect match!" a familiar elegant voice laughed.
Being half asleep (since I just had rest for an hour or so), I rubbed my swollen eyes and stood up from the chair I was sitting upon beside the hospital bed. I stretched a bit, feeling the muscle cramps from my uncomfortable position.
