I ran as far out as I could and collapsed in front of a tree. I wasn't sure why she kept rejecting him. Or had hurt her so much to say goodbye, and that had already happened. It would take her less time. She has always stayed blind to what get conscience was telling her. He was the king. Sure wasnt a princess. His father would probably arrange a marriage soon enough. Maybe she could stay out here. It would be a bit dramatic but still, she could easily do it. Maybe I could make a shelter, she thought and after about five minutes, had made her decision. She had spent two months trying to get over him, to avoid him at all costs. But it was very difficult when he was the king. she almost always heard him being mentioned, and even after she had retreated to her cabin, she could still hear their conversations. People would fine in and tell her to go out, even though she wanted to be alone. And chase didn't seem to be bothered! He didn't spend days in his bedroom. He still went out to festivals and got coronated and sat himself when on the throne he promised to share with her. He wasn't bothered. He didn't have bloodshot eyes and a morning face when she saw him. He was well groomed and happy. Why should she cause herself more hurt by getting back with him when he could do fine without her? No, she would stay here. Topaz would understand. As would Brook and Rose. They didn't need her to help them get food anymore. She grabbed a long branch, pulling hard, and watching it crack off a tree. It was about two and a held metres long, and propped it in between two trees, like a clothes line. Two hours later, a crude, one roomed hut stood unsteadily in front of her. she was quite proud of it, and crawled through the front door. It wasn't really a door, more of a wide hole she could get in and out through. Inside was small. About the size of the double beds she had seen it the castle. Sheer couldn't stand, but she could easily kneel inside it. Humming to herself, she cleared the inside of its twigs, and went back outside. "bed, fire, door." she said to herself, and went in search of things she could use. Another hour later and she had an armful of long reds and several flat stones. She pulled a lighter out of her pocket and collected the twigs she had earlier cleared away. Piling them together, she lit them, and placed one of the flat stones on top, then started to weave together the reeds to make a blanket and a curtain for the door, listening to the animals in the forest and the wind. Suddenly a loud splash sounded through the first, followed with cursing and a thump. Then she heard the voice.
"why can't we just leave? There's ten other search party's, we may as well go home." he said. Struggling through a ticket of vines that Alexis could just see through her walls. She slowly moved outside, and climbed the willow where she knew she found see them.
"for goodness sakes, Kings orders. We have to search for her." the other one said. From her location in the trees, she could see they were both guards. One if then was tall, and the shorter one must have caused the splash, as his uniform was dripping wet. He cried out and pointed at her fire. She cursed under her breath and then bit back a laugh as he slipped again and crashed into a tree. They looked at the hut, searching inside and around it. The taller one soon his head.
"its no use, she's probably heard you fall." the shorter one scowled at that.
"week it's not my fault the blasted river was there. I didn't see it!"
"clearly." the other said, rolling his eyes. Suddenly, a branch next to her creaked as she shifted her position, and they looked up.
"there! Now, quick go!" the shorter one cried, stumbling in his excitement, and the taller tried to climb the tree. She jumped off her branch, half landing on the guard, knocking him out. Then she advanced on the smaller one.
"food please." she ordered him, holding out her hand, he fumbled with his pouch and then dumped it in her hand, slipping backwards again. Alexis pointed at the other guard.
"take him with you. Leave his pouch." she says and he did so, hurrying off and dressing his partner behind him. She heard another splash and sighed. Now they knew where she was. There goes that idea. Alexis opened the pouch and found inside meat and crackers, asking with a flask, and a knife. The other has more food and another lighter. The checked the fire again, and saw that the wine had been pushed off. She picked up a bowl shaped rock and put it on the fire, waiting for it to heat up. There was also a blanket in both pouches, rich she threw inside her shelter and then left in search of fruit and berries. She didn't have to look far. A bush nearby had large leaves she knew to be edible, and yellow fruits the size of apples. She carried them back to her camp, filling up one of the flasks with water as she went. The bowl shaped rock was hot, and the water began to boil when she poured it in. She then cut up the fruits and the leaves and dropped them in the water, with some of the dried meat and a littler if the alcohol that was in the other flask. And that was how she lived for the two months. People came looking for her, she took their supplies and sent them away slightly injured. For dinner, she was hunting for food for the rest of the day, spending most front of the fire and cooking, or in her shelter sleeping. She saw her reflection in the water every now and again. Her hair had grown to her elbows, and it was soon bronzed and light. Her skin was darker from hours of sunshine and she was working on making new clothes out of the blanket she no longer needed, as it was summer now. Sure was washing the two white blankets she had, and lay them over her shelter. She had extended it out to three rooms, and crawled inside the second one to sleep.
