Chapter 9 - Burning Love

When I walked over Aiden was adding some spices to ground beef and it smelled amazing. He also happened to be smirking.

"What? What are you smiling at?"

"So, I'm handsome huh?" My cheeks burned.

"My mom was just worried, I was only reassuring her I was fine."

"Of course." He was grinning like the Cheshire cat.

"If I didn't she would be here in a flash dragging me home."

"Absolutely." He seemed to think for a minute. "Would it be a bad thing if she came to get you? The car could take a while and you could go home, unless there's a reason you to stay." He continued his cooking.

"Well...I don't want to leave my car, and I'm having a nice time. Do you want me to go? Because I can call her back." I stared at my hands, acting like there was something on my shirt sleeve. Aiden put his wooden spatula down and turned to fully face me. He waited a second before placing a finger under my chin, raising my head to look at him. The look on his face was so soft and tender it made my heart skyrocket.

"You're absolutely welcome for as long as you WANT to be here." He moved his hand to place it on my cheek, my heart hammering in my chest. He moved just a fraction closer. "May I?" He waited giving me more than enough time to decide. I nodded my head and he closed the distance. He placed his other hand on the back of my head and neck, fingers splayed in my hair as I tilted my head up. Aiden leaned in slowly giving me the option to back out. I wasn't going anywhere there was something about him that just felt right, like a puzzle finally being completed. At first he just brushed his lips against mine and they were so soft. My lips parted and I stepped closer so that the front of our bodies were gently touching. I raised my hand to his face and my thumb along his bottom lip. Aiden turned his head into my hand and kissed my palm then my wrist. Moving my hand to the side of his neck our lips reconnected and this time a little more urgently. Our lips moved in a synchronized give and take, one of the best things was he gave hints and teases of tongue I wasn't choking on it because he was trying to shove it down my throat. It was perfect and gentle causing me to melt into him. He wrapped his arms around me and the kiss deepened. We parted breathing heavily and holding each other. Aiden rested his forehead against mine, it was a magical moment till we realized something was burning. Aiden jumped back and rushed to turn off the pan. "Damn." He leaned against the oven and I bit my lip trying not to laugh.

"I'm sorry the food burned." I felt the need to apologize.

"It's ok." He walked back over and embraced me giving me a kiss on my forehead , nose, and lips which made me giggle. Then he said the most magical words anyone can say to me. He leaned in and whispered; "How about I go get pizza?" I jumped.

"Really?!" He laughed.

"Yes really."

"How I didn't see any pizza places."

"The diner. They actually have really good pizza." I though about it I didn't see pizza on the menu but then again I didn't get very far through the menu.

"Yes! Yes please!"

"Do you want to find something to watch while I go get it?"

"Can it be scary? Scary movies and pizza is the best."

"Sure I like a good scary movie. I'll call the diner so they can get it started. What do you want on it?"

"Any and all meat. I'm practically a carnivore" He looked at me with a twinkle in his eye.

"Where have you been all my life?" I raised one eyebrow and pretended to think about it. Then with a slightly serious face I answered;

"Waiting for pizza." He busted out laughing.

"Fair enough. I'll get right on it my lady." He went to the phone and I sat down on the couch pulling my knees up. I started flipping through movies until I found the perfect one.

"Found it!" The excitement bubbled out. Aiden stopped putting his jacket on and walked over.

"What did you find?"

"House of Wax a classic."

"That's a good one, great choice. I'll be right back with the food." He leaned down and I tilted my head up so he could give me a quick kiss. He lingered making a humming noise. "Ok I'll be back." He threw his jacket on and headed out the door. I hopped off the couch and ran to my things to change. I chose a pair of yoga pants and a college sweatshirt. I changed in the bathroom and brushed my hair but it wouldn't cooperate so I put it up in a bun. My eyes had started to bother me so I took my contacts out and put on my glasses. It wasn't super attractive but it was comfortable. Then I spurted back to the couch, luckily I had a few books in my bag and had grabbed one to read while I waited cuddled up on the couch. A little bit later I heard the door close so I looked up and Aiden walked around the corner from the entry way and stopped. The smile that lit up his face made my heart rate pick up, I knew if that kept up I was going to have some problems. He rested the pizza on his hip and tilted his head. "Gosh you're cute. Especially with the glasses." My cheeks warmed and I smiled while dropping my head.

"Well thank you. You're not so bad yourself." He walked over to the kitchen and put the pizza down.

"I know I heard earlier remember?" He gave me a wink. He turned back towards the kitchen and unzipped his jacket. "Do you like wine?"

"Uh yes absolutely."

"Ok, any preference?"

"Not really but social construct dictates since we're having pizza we should have red but my favorite is Moscato." He turned brandishing two bottles of wine.

"Oh good I got two just in case." I jumped up to help him but a question occurred to me.

"Wait how did you carry everything?"

"Very carefully and I put the wine in my jacket." We put the wine and the pizza on the table with plates and glasses then settled in and started the movie. He stayed on the opposite side of the couch with one arm on the arm of the couch and the other on the back. He was trying to be very respectful and I could tell he was giving me space but I decided I didn't want it. So I slid my wine glass closer to his, He looked at me confused as I slid closer and he dropped his leg that was on the couch to make room for me and I snuggled into him. He wrapped his arm around me and turned his attention back to the screen. Sometime during the movie the wind picked up and 'I had started to doze off. Aiden rubbed my arm to rouse me. "Hey the movie's over why don't you go off to bed." I slowly shuffled to the bed and climbed in while Aiden stayed by the couch. I fell asleep before I could think to much about it.
