...We can't see you...
...We can't see you....
...We can't see you...
They didn't see her. What was she? How could Hattie not see her as she was the most powerful member of the coven, right? Well, at least she was the most magical... I mean she was a witch! Erin was almost invisible to their sixth sense. "How is that possible?" Erin voiced out loud, she said it as much for herself as the other women.
Dinah shrugged her shoulders, "I've never really seen these prophetic dreams. So, it is something I don't really know anything about." She paused for a moment, "and not knowing is truly bugging me." Dinah took a step closer to Erin and tilted her head scanning Erin trying to understand the mystery.
Elizabet too shrugged her shoulders. However, she didn't say anything, but her eyes flickered slightly as if she was in deep thought. Maybe she too was trying to figure out the mystery.
...Erin the mystery...
After a moment of contemplation Hattie spoke. "I suspect us not being able to 'see' you has something to do with what you are. This is good, as it narrows down what you possibly are considerably."
"So? What am I?"
Hattie shook her head and a slight grin formed on her face, "I said it narrowed down the options, the possibilities." Hattie paused and put her hand to her forehead and closed her eyes. She rubbed her forehead with her pointer finger and thumb. Desperately trying to come up with an answer that the young girl desperately wanted. Really, an answer that they all wanted and needed. "I suppose there are really only two possibilities as to what you are." Hattie spoke as she opened her eyes staring straight at Erin.
Erin shifted uncomfortably, "two possibilities? And would care sharing them with me?" Erin asked impatiently taking a step closer to the group, "please?"
Instead of directly answering Erin, Hattie posed a statement for the girl. "Erin, I want you to look at Elizabet."
Erin turned her focus and attention to the succubus. "I am. I am looking at her." Erin indicated by pointing at Elizabet in front of her. Erin then shifted her eyes back to the hag and back again to Elizabet. "I see her." She waved her hands up and down, "I see her standing in front of me."
"You see the vision she provides to the world. I want you to really look at her. I want you to really 'see' her."
Elizabet looked towards Hattie and realized what the woman was getting at.
Erin again looked back at the hag, she obviously wanted her to see something. But, what was she looking for? Something about Elizabet, but what? Erin looked throughly over Elizabet from head to toe and then back again trying to find what Hattie was talking about. Erin couldn't see anything? Nothing seemed different or out of the ordinary. But Erin realized that Elizabet seemed to understand and wore the same annoying knowing look. She knew...why wouldn't they just tell her! Why go through all these games? Why was Hattie asking her to look for something? Erin asked herself a million questions, but she already knew the answer. It had something to do with the two possibilities as to what she was. And, Hattie would not provide the answer, it wouldn't come easily.
Erin took in a deep breath and closed her eyes. She steadied her breathing and tried to clear her mind. She took several more deep breaths before she opened her eyes again.
Erin opened her eyes and for a moment she saw something. A flash. Nothing definite. For a moment she didn't see the Elizabet that she always saw. However, now, she saw regular -old -human -looking Elizabet in front of her. But she did see something, she just didn't have a long enough view of it to know or even explain what she saw. Erin drummed her fingers on her thighs before she squinted her eyes and stared at Elizabet. She focused all of her will power to try and 'see' the flash again. The image that flashed before her eyes before presented now as a flicker. The image flickered between the 'human' Elizabet that she was used to seeing and something else. A creature. No, a demon. The longer she stared at the image the clearer it became and suddenly there were no flashes between the demon and human. It was just the demon in front of her.
"Hattie, she sees me for what I truly am."
Erin did not turn her attention away from the demon afraid that she would lose the image. But hearing the voice of Elizabet come from the demon figure she knew. This was her true form. The succubus was still alluring and sexual. Her feminine curves were still the same. Her skin tone was similar albeit with more reddish tones. Upon her head she had two small horns and on her back two bat like wings. Elizabet the succubus demon.
"What am I Hattie?" Erin asked finally turner her attention to the witch.
