Elizabet knew she had to act quickly, he believed her now, but she knew after she made her move he would know. He would hunt her down no differently than any of the others held within. She she was nothing special to him, not really. Elizabet walked to their room, she looked at the bed they shared. She felt a little nauseous looking at it. She didn't think she could pretend to love him much longer. How did she ever think they were in love in the first place. Her eyes welled with tears and she scrunched her face angry with herself for being so weak. Emotions were human's business. She was better, wasn't she?
A few days later she headed towards the prison, she brought food with her. She didn't have to sneak it past the guards, they were well aware of her 'plan'. She walked down the flight of stairs and to the far cell that contained Hattie. Elizabet placed the gently in front of the woman and subsequently cleaned an area on the floor so she could sit next to the hag.
Elizabet took a deep breath. "So, you know who I am and I know nothing about you. I know you are a powerful witch and you were forming a coven to thwart Atchen."
Hattie laughed, "that beast calls himself Atchen?"
Elizabet shrugged her shoulders and raised her brows, "That is how he introduced himself the first night we met. If he has had another name, I do not know it."
Hattie pursed her lips, "Yes, I am a very powerful witch and our coven was well over 50 men and women when it was at it's strongest." She let out a sigh and only briefly broke her eye contact with Elizabet. "But that was a little while ago. We were decimated with only about 5 of us surviving. Some may still be alive, but we were scattered to the four corners of the world."
"Is that when you were captured?" Elizabet asked truly interested in her story.
Hattie shook her head, "no. I wasn't so much captured as I allowed them to catch me."
Elizabet furrowed her brows, "what?"
"Shortly after we were attacked which left many of my brothers and sisters dead, I developed a plan. Which in a way involved you."
Elizabet spoke up, "you're not trying to trick me or something, right?" She asked cautiously, eyeing the chained woman with a careful gaze.
"No, no nothing like that. I purposely let myself be caught by him and his men. I did this as a way to save the coven and to save the freedom of our kind and humans. What he is doing is wrong. My plan did somewhat revolve around you. It was the only way for us to meet. Because if I didn't meet you or more specifically, you chose to ignore the plight of magical creatures; the resistance would have died. The resistance and our coven would have no chance."
Hattie paused looking at the succubus in front of her, unsure of how she should continue. "This is not a trick or any kind of manipulation. You are so powerful and amazing. If given the right opportunities you will bring the light upon this world...that is figurative and I suppose somewhat literal."
"I'm sorry, but I am struggling to understand you." Elizabet wanted to ask more, but she heard shuffling feet at the far end of the hallway. Instead she stood up and dusted off her dress and slipped out of the cage. The men greeted her and she barely acknowledged their presence.
On the way back to her home, Hattie's words fumbled around her brain. She struggled to acertain their meaning and she found herself getting more frustrated that she couldn't. Was she not bright enough? But while that may be part of the problem, it wasn't all of it. She would need to ask Hattie more questions. Hattie didn't explain it all to her. But deep down, she knew that the hag spoke the truth. She knew that she truly wanted to be a friend to her. Something told her that, she just didn't really understand it.
In the following weeks she visited Hattie once a week, sometimes more. During her time at the house she began developing her plan. She would get Hattie out of the prison.
Two months after their first initial visit Elizabet had a plan. She quickly informed Hattie in as few words a possible in cryptic messages, afraid that Atchen would somehow come to discover it. According to Hattie's directions, she prepared ingredients for a spell. The spell would be used to replace the need of a key and free all the captives from their cells.
It was only a few days until the next full moon, and Hattie wanted to wait until then. Her magic was influenced by the moon. A full moon meant more power and she knew she would need everything within her arsenal if she was to free the beings held within this prison.
The night of the full moon, Elizabet began the spell. She move around the building putting the various crystals at strategic spots as indicated by Hattie. Using her own natural born abilities she seduced the guards and snuffed their lives out. She quickly moved toward the cell that contained Hattie informing her of what she had already completed.
Atchen had felt Elizabet remove herself from bed. He didn't think much of it until the succubus didn't come back o bed after using the privy. He stood up and walked to the window to see her moving towards the cells and towards the witch. He let out a snort and a wicked smile fell upon his face. If a normal human would have seen it, they would have collapsed with fright.
Elizabet however, was unaware. She had thought she made a clean break. She thought she had made it without his knowledge. She watched as Hattie spoke her magic and the chains upon her wrists fell to the ground. Hattie rubbed at her sore wrists happy to have the weights off. She was free and now they would free the rest.
At this juncture the two separated, divide and conquer. Elizabet opened the cells freeing those within. She sent them in the direction of hattie who was forming an underground tunnel to escape far away from this compound. Elizabet was opening the second to last human cage when she felt something grab her and throw her. She it the metal bars with a thud. Her vision blurred for a moment and when she came to, she saw the free human being torn apart in two.
Elizabet stood up and rushed at Atchen before he could grab the other human. She moved him enough that the human could rush past them and headed toward Hattie and thereby freedom.
Elizabet used her claws and her teeth becoming something akin to a wild animal. She clawed at his skin, forming bright red lines. She bit his arms, pulling chunks from his forearms. Again he swatted her away. She banged her head hard, but she had a mission and she could fail now. She stood up blood dripping from the corners of her mouth.
Atchen snorted and walked to her grabbing her by the neck.
"You're a demon." Elizabet said her voice coming out like a growl.
"Yes and that is why you loved me. We were going to take over the world. I never changed...you did."
He squeezed her neck harder. Elizabet struggled to breathe and then her vision went black.
