Erin sat listening to Elizabet explain a coven, if she hadn't witnessed their power, she probably wouldn't believe them. Erin was still trying to determine right side from left and up from down. It was a lot to take in. But they continued. The women went around the table and formally introduced themselves.
Erin thought...Mythological creatures...and magic...What had she gotten herself into?
Cicely had a quiet voice and she wore a smile. Without seeing her eyes it was difficult for Erin to know if the smile was genuine or not. As Cicely began to speak the snakes calmed down and looked at Cicely, waiting. "As Elizabet explained, I am a gorgon. I am sure you have heard of Medusa? Well, I am not her. She was the most famous to our kind. I am proud to say that I am related to her, a very distant relative." Cicely smiled even wider, saying it as if she was related to royalty. "I am sure you have guessed, but yes, I can turn people to stone, hence the reason I wear these sunglasses all the time. My eyes are not something I can hide with magic. With a glamour."
Erin thought that Cicely didn't seem too bad, even if her hair was made of snakes.
The next coven member to introduce herself was Myrtle. Myrtle had a large smile that went up to her eyes. "I am a siren. Er, that is like a mermaid. You know, like the little mermaid, but she is a fictional character. Anyways. One time i'll have to sing for you! I've been told that I have a voice like an angel."
Erin couldn't help but agree, her voice was melodic and serene. But weren't-
Elizabet as ever the sarcastic one called out, "right before they died."
Myrtle turned and looked Elizabet in her eyes. "I haven't done that in ages!"
Erin's eyes got wide. Now she recalled, sirens lured sailors to their death. But, apparently, she doesn't anymore. Erin supposed that was what Elizabet meant when she said they weren't exactly the bad guys. Erin provided a smile. She wanted to ask about the fish tail, but kept the question to herself. She could ask later. Maybe?
Flora was the next to speak. "Well as you know I am part witch. But I am also part Dryad. Like a tree nymph/spirit."
Erin smiled. So, this Flora was basically a hippie and she let out a chuckle to herself at her own joke.
Hattie was the next to speak. "Well, obviously, I am a witch, but more specifically a Hag. Just a type of witch. I know you are unsure about us, but I am happy to have you here with us. I think you will aid us greatly in the upcoming battle."
Erin wasn't sure of this battle and what exactly that meant? She would have to ask Hattie later, she expected her to provide straight answers unlike Elizabet.
Dinah, the librarian looking one spoke next. "I am a sphinx, I am the most intelligent one here. I thrive on knowledge."
Erin wanted to choke on the mouthful of food she ate. So modest...not!
Dinah understood Erin's reaction, "I am not being conceited, it is the truth." The other women at the table nodded their heads in agreement. They were also used to how Dinah spoke and acted and were not the least bit bothered.
Lena spoke next. She kept her voice low, "I am a water nymph. And part human somewhere in my lineage." She offered Erin a small smile.
Erin nodded that she understood. Heather spoke up, the one who had a goth like appearance. Erin also noticed that Heather was wearing gloves.
"I am a mare." She said simply.
Erin raised her brows? A horse?
"I am a night mare. I cause terrible night's sleep and wicked dreams. Enough so that I can send people to an early grave. These gloves create a barrier. So, I don't curse people with terrible nightmares. I don't want to curse people."
Erin noticed her voice was soft and gentle. The woman looked sad. Like she hated that she did such horrible things. Erin then thought that maybe she was just reading into it.
Erin then turned to Elizabet.
Elizabet smiled. "I am a succubus. I feed off of sexual energy." Elizabet licked her lips and Erins eyes went large. She said it like she was proud and not ashamed!
So, it appeared that every one of these women who were part of this coven were creatures. Both good and bad. And for better or worse Erin was stuck with them for the time being. She would get her family's memories back.

'How did we get here?' Thought Emmeline to herself. She sat in the back of the SUV her hands covered in blood. She pressed down to try and stop the bleeding. She had to stop the bleeding.
They were free, but the creature found them. He found them and he hurt them. All Emmeline could do now was focus and stop the bleeding.
