As soon as the sun starts shining, I shift back into my human form. I look down at myself and realise that maybe it would've been better if I were just to stay in my wolf form. I'm bare naked. I internally argue what to do next, when I heard a twig break behind me. I swiftly turn around and as soon as I do, I'm met with a pair of green eyes staring at me. The girl, to whom the eyes belong to, looks utterly confused. I try to cover as much as I can by throwing my hair over my breast and awkwardly moving around with my hands to cover the other necessary parts.
For a few seconds, the girl just continues to look at me with a shocking expression before she somehow snaps out of it and moves towards me cautiously but fast.
"I'm so sorry for staring. I didn't mean to."
Well, at least she seems nice. Maybe I could ask her for help.
"It's fine, really."
"No, it's not. Here you are bare naked in a forest," as she says this, she reaches out to her backpack, scramble through the things inside it and pulls out a jacket and a pair of pants, "Here, take this. I insist. It's quite chilly and you might catch a cold."
I think I'm starting to like this girl. Not in a weird way, I mean, but she's considerate and selfless. With a hesitant hand, I take the clothes she's offering towards me and I manage to get a small whisper of a 'thank you' out. She smiles at me and I start dressing in front of her. As soon as I'm done, I give her a warm smile.
"Thank you for your help."
"No problem."
We stand there for a few seconds in some sort of awkward silence before she reaches her hand out towards me. I gladly accept it and shake her hand.
"I'm Linzy by the way."
"Nadira."
"It's nice to make your acquaintance."
"Same here."
She lets go of my hand and looks in front of her into the direction I assume she was going into before stumbling upon my naked ass.
"I'm heading into town. Would you like to come with me? Maybe you could fone someone there to come and get you. I'm sure you're not out here naked in the forest on your own will or are you?"
She gives me a teasing smile. Hmm, something tells me you're my new best friend.
"Umm," I give her a nervous laugh, "No, no I'm not. And," I give her a slightly hopeless look, "I don't have anyone I can phone."
"Oh, I see. Well then, I can't have you running around here in the forest naked so you might as well come with me then."
"Are you sure? I don't want to be a nuisance to you."
"Nonsense. Come on."
I smile wholeheartedly at her before I start to follow her out of the forest.
For a while, we were silent before she spoke up.
"So," she looks at me cautiously, "what were you doing alone and naked in the forest anyway?"
I give her a sheepish grin, "Umm, well, I was being chased by a group of guys who wanted me dead, so I tore my clothes off of me and shredded them as if an animal got me. I think that made them think that I was dead."
Dea laughs in my head. Seriously Dira? Is that the best excuse you could come up with? So lame.
Oh shut up! I shout back at her in my head. She just laughs at me before she becomes silent once more. I look up to see Linzy staring perplexed at me as if she doesn't know what to say or how to feel about the information I just gave her.
A lowly 'oh' was all she managed to say at first.
"I'm sorry to hear about that, but good thing they stopped chasing you."
"Yes. I guess so."
She smiles faintly at me and we continue our walk through the forest.
After a while, we start seeing buildings in front of us. Some buildings are quite tall and some very fancy. I stare in awe at the now newly found place she brought me to. Linzy's face is filled with amusement as she stares at me.
"What? Never been to this part of the city before?"
"What city are we in right now?"
"Los Angeles."
I stare at her in complete and utter shock. I have always wanted to come to Los Angeles, but I would've never imagined that my old pack was actually this close to the big city. Linzy smiles at me brightly. She interlocks her arm with mine and drags me down the street we now found ourselves in.
"Come on. My house isn't far from here."
As we continue down the street, I could see more and more people. All of them living in these fancy houses. Linzy drags me down another street before we come to a stop at a huge mansion with some stylish front gates. She goes to the intercom and speaks into it.
"Ramond?"
A few seconds of silence as she stood there waiting for an answer on the other side of the line before the guy she called Ramon answers.
"Yes, miss Linzy? How may I be of service?"
Linzy smiles in my direction before answering him back.
"Well, for starters, you could open the gate for me so I may enter the house, please."
"With pleasure, miss."
Linzy comes strolling back to me as the large gates slowly open and she drags me into the big front-yard filled with a huge garden and a fountain in the middle. She leads me to the front door where a guy I assume to be Ramond, waits for her smiling. His smile suddenly changes to that of confusion when he sees me. Linzy comes to a halt in front of Ramond.
"Ramond, I would like to introduce a new friend of mine. Her name is Nadira and as of today, she's going to be living here with us."
I look towards Linzy in confusion and then at Ramond who shares the same expression as I do. I look back at Linzy again.
"Linzy, I thank you so much, but I don't want to be a nuisance to you here in your own house."
"Nonsense. You can stay here with me as long as you'd like to."
I give her a warm smile as I know that no matter what I'm going to say next won't even help to change her mind. I look back at Ramond and stretch my hand out towards him. He kindly accepts it.
"It's nice to meet you, Ramond."
"The pleasure is all mine, miss Nadira."
"Oh, you really don't have to be so formal to me. Just call me Dira."
"If you insist, Dira."
"Thank you."
Linzy sort of rolls her eyes playfully at me before pushing me forward into the house, but not before ordering Ramond to tell the chef to get to plates ready of pancakes with syrup, wiped cream and blueberries ready for us. He nods his head and moves into the direction I assume must be to the kitchen. Meanwhile, Linzy is dragging me to a room up the stairs where she leads me in.
I stare in awe at the amazing few of the room. I look at Linzy and back at the room.
"Is this your room?"
"No, this is going to be your room starting today."
I almost break my neck while snapping my head towards her.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, I'm dead serious. This is going to be your home from now on because well, you told me you don't have someone you could phone, you asked in which city we were so I assumed you didn't have a place to stay as well so yeah, might as well live with me."
I feel a sting in my eyes and realise that I'm crying. I embrace Linzy in a warm hug. We only met a few minutes ago but she already feels like my sister. Linzy gladly accepts my embrace.
"Thank you. Thank you so much."
"No problem," she pushes herself away from me and looks at me happily.
She claps her hands together.
"Well, Edmo's going to take a while to make the pancakes so you might as well go and clean up. I'm going to arrange a maid to come and draw your bath for you and I'll get you a set of clothes ready to wear. When you're done, I'll come and get you to have brunch. After that, we'll go shopping to get you some new clothes to wear."
"Linzy, I really am grateful for all you've done for me. You've been nothing but kind to me, but you really don't have to waste your money on buying me clothes."
"Please, Dira, I insist. You're going to be like a sister to me here so I might as well look after you well. Now, please, explore the room while I get a maid to come and draw your bath for you."
"Thank you, Linzy. I really am indebted to you. I don't know what I would've done without you right now."
"It's the least I can do."
She gives me one last hug before rushing out of the room in search of a maid. I take the initiative to look around my newly given room. It looks really nice. The room is completely white. I mean, almost everything is white in the room. A fancy chandelier hangs in the middle of the room with a white rug covering the white marble tiles. A bed is placed in the center of the wall and right in front of me just a little bit further to the end of the room, there's some huge windows overshadowing the forest we just came from with some fancy furniture in front if it. I already love my room. It beats the dump I had to sleep in at the pack house by far. Maybe I should've ran away sooner from the pack.
As I scan my room, I didn't notice the maid that entered. I only noticed her when she spoke up.
"Miss Nadira?"
I swing around in her direction and give her a warm smile.
"Yes. How may I help you?"
"Your bath has been drawn. Please follow me."
I nod my head and follow her into the en suite bathroom and look at the full bathtub with steaming water and some pettles. There are some fragrant soaps, bodywash, shampoo, conditioner and face care plastered on a rack near the bath. I look at the maid and smile warmly.
"Thank you so much."
She gives me a warm smile before leaving the bathroom and closing the door. I didn't think twice about stripping my clothes and climbing into the bath. Oh my, I must be in heaven. I sink into the warm water and just soak for a few minutes. This is life. I'm so going to enjoy it here.
