After my magnificent time in the bath, where I just soaked for like 20 minutes before I started washing my hair and doing all the other excessive stuff, I come into my room where I found my new pair of clothing ready for me to wear laid neatly on the edge of my bed. My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when I saw it. A wine-red tube top with a black high waist knee ripped jeans and a pair of black ankle-strap heels.
She wants me to wear this?!
I look around the room for something else I could wear, but there's nothing else. I look back at the outfit in front of me. I have never worn anything like this before. When I was still at my old pack, I usually only wore sweatpants and an oversized sweatshirt because that was all I had and besides, I didn't want to be fancy or sassy like my two 'sisters' or the other girls in the pack. Probably one of the reasons why I had no friends.
I stare at the outfit in front of me for a while. Does she want me to wear this...oh, for goodness sake, Dira. Just suck it up already and wear it.
I sigh but try out the outfit anyway. As soon as I'm done dressing, I instantly regret my decision. I look around the room for where there could be a mirror and when I found one, I was surprised as to what I saw. In front of me a girl who I assumed was me but didn't look like me at all, was staring back at me.
I make a few turns as I inspected myself in the mirror. I had to say, Linzy style and to top it all off, she's my size as well. But, even though I hid behind baggy sweatpants and shirts, I never really knew that I could look like this. Like, this wasn't me at all but...I kind of liked it? Yes, that it! I liked the new me I saw. If I was going to run away and start a new life, I might as well start with a bang.
As I was inspecting myself in the mirror, I suddenly heard a loud shriek from behind me. I turn around frantically and see a pleasantly pleased Linzy staring at me.
"Oh my goodness, Dira! I didn't know you were hiding such nice aspects of you. I mean, I saw you naked and everything, but now that I could see you in some clothes I mean, just wow!"
A shy blush creeps up onto my face as she continues to compliment me.
"Thank you, Linzy."
"My pleasure, and it looks like you and I are the same sizes, which is great. This makes things even easier to get you some new clothes when we go shopping after brunch."
I sulk and pout at her.
"Do we really need to go shopping?"
"Yes, we do! What kind of question is that even?"
"Ugg."
"Come on. Seriously, Dira. I'm not going to bring you to your death by going shopping."
"Feels like it."
Linzy shakes her head at me before coming closer, taking my hand and dragging me to my dresser.
"What are you doing?"
"Well, if I'm going to bring you to your death by going shopping, you might as well look good when you go."
"But I'm already dressed."
"No, not your clothes - make-up."
"Make-up?"
"Have you never worn any make-up before?"
"No. Not really."
"Well, from today onward, you're going to. Might as well make a mental note to buy you some new make-up products while we're shopping."
"Seriously?"
She plasters me down on the chair in front of the dresser.
"Yes seriously. Now, hold still."
Linzy takes out a lot of things from the dresser cabinets and starts to apply the things to my face.
"I don't see the point of this."
"Well, you'll be surprised what a little bit of lip gloss and mascara could do to a person. Just wait and see. I promise you'll like it."
I remain silent for the remainder of the time while Linzy applies my make-up before she moves on to do my hair. As she finishes with my hair, she takes a few steps back, looks me up and down and claps her hands together.
"I think you're ready."
She turns the chair around for me to see myself and my mouth gawks at the sight in front of me.
"Is that me?"
Linzy laughs at me as if I amuse her somehow.
"Yes silly, that's you. Do you like it?"
"I have no words to describe it. You know your stuff."
Linzy flips her hair in a way to look cool and somehow arrogant and sassy.
"What can I say. I'm a pro."
We stare at each other in the mirror and start laughing. I don't even know her that long but it feels like we've known each other our entire lives. Linzy clears her throat and taps me on my shoulder.
"Whenever you're finished gawking at yourself in the mirror, we can go and get brunch. It should be ready by now."
"You don't have to ask nor remind me twice. Let's go to eat. I'm starving!"
Linzy laughs at me and I follow her out of my room, down the stairs, through some other rooms in this beautiful mansion and finally for what feels like forever, we get to the dining room where our pancakes are stacked and waiting to be devoured. Mouthwatering.
Linzy giggle's at my facial expression and sits down at a spot I assume is where she usually sits when she is eating. I sit right next to her. I look at the plate in front of me and then at Linzy. She's staring right at me. I'm really hungry but at least I know my manners. I never begin to eat before the host of the person of the house doesn't start to eat first. In this case, it's Linzy, but she's tormenting me right now.
I see a smile creep up onto her face when she sees how frustrated I am right now because she's playing with me. I give a big wine.
"Linzy! Stop playing with me. I'm so hungry!"
Linzy laughs at my antics.
"I know you are very hungry. I was just testing you."
I take in a shocked breath and put my hand to my chest in a way to show how shocked I am bearing a sarcastically shocked facial expression.
"LINZY! Just because you found me naked out in the woods doesn't mean I'm an animal!"
Well, technically, you are an animal, Dira. Correction, technically, we are an animal.
Oh, shut up Dea. She doesn't need to know that right now.
So you mean to tell me you're going to expose us to her?!
No, of course not. Shut up.
On one condition.
What?
We have to go hunting tonight. I'm starving!
Deal.
I zoneDea out as soon as Linzy bursts out laughing. I look at her a little bit shocked with the sudden turn of events. She is crying like a baby with the sudden fits of laughter she's getting right now. I don't know what to think or what to do, so I decided that it couldn't hurt if I laugh with her and that's exactly what I did.
After a few minutes of laughing mania, we calmed down. Linzy is wiping away the tears that streamed down her face while we were laughing hysterically. She looks at me while wiping away the last wandering tear.
"Oh boy. I'm so glad I met you Dira. You are so different than these high and preppy girls in this city. I like that about you. You're so honest and speaks what's on your mind whether it is with words or your facial expressions."
"Thank you, Linzy. I'm glad I met you as well, because without you, I would probably still be wandering around the forest naked."
"Yes, you would and we don't want some pervy animal getting to you now do we?"
I start to laugh again with her for a few seconds before we calmed down once more.
"No, we wouldn't want that. That would've been awful."
"Yes. Yes indeed."
We look at each other smiling all the way before we started eating the mouthwatering pancakes.
After a few minutes of eating and a little more laughing and chatting here and there, Linzy suddenly stands up as her plate is empty and almost pull my shoulder out of it's socket almost sending diving into the floor. Yet that doesn't concern her as she still goes ahead as if she's on a mission which by now would be proven to be correct.
"Where are you dragging me to, Linzy?"
"Shopping. It's high time you and I do some bonding and get you some new clothes as you're going to be staying with me now. I wouldn't want my new sister to look like a troll."
I gawk at her sudden response. I don't dress like a troll!
"I'm so NOT a troll Linzy."
"No, you're not. I'm just concerned as to when your new naked fiasco will take place so..."
"LINZY!"
She laughs at my now blushing red face. She makes a sharp turn to the right going through a door led down by a starecase going to the garage I assume.
As soon as we are at the bottom of the stairs, Linzy turns the lights on to reveal some stunning cars. If I have to say, her cars are even better than the ones Arilyn and Kamilah owns which they got for their birthdays. One car that especially catches my attention is the black Bugatti La Voiture Noire. Once again, I stood there gawking at the sights in front of me.
Linzy probably saw which car I was staring at, or more like drooling at, because she dragged me in the direction of the car with the keys already in her had. She goes over to the driver's side and urges me to get in net to her. So I move over to shotgun, climb in simultaneously with Linzy in the driver's seat and she starts the car. As she closes her door, she looks at me and smiles.
"So, let the shopping begin."
