ON reaching her room,the first thing that welcomed her was her sister apparel untop the bed.
She frowned to the floor. She knew the stake of seeing Paschal or any man at all. What was she doing? She sat on the floor, resting her back on the door and letting her tears flow freely. She was both shocked, confused and devastated. Turning to face the door,she banged it hard with her fists, crying aloud. She remembered when she promised the priest she'll never see Paschal again.
But why did she go anyway?
And why was she crying?
Standing up she walked to the mirror and tried stopping herself from crying. It was worse. The cry came more.
She was really frustrated. No -she looked shock- she was falling in love.
She had mixed feelings. She wasn't sure what was going on with her and decided to enter the bath tub for a long bathe.
The quarrels between her and Paschal, she could clearly hear them. Her yells and pleads and screams and pasts and tears and pains and frustration.
Her tears ceased finally when she came out of the bathtub. Tying her towel,she saw the sister's apparel yet again and turning her head to the clothes she wore earlier today,(trouser and silk top),she put them on. Packed all the most important things she had in her bag and went straight to the Reverend sister's office.
She had falling in love,and that was THAT.
Boom! She opened the office door.
"Shirley! Any problem?" Sister Rita asked worriedly. "Please have a sit". Shirley sat.
"Sister Rita,I do not want to be a sister anymore" Shirley said after swallowing a big ball of saliva in her throat.
