Synopsis
In a kingdom where a king wages a war for the night and the queen for the reign of the day. Two heroes seek to change everything after a strange event proves that both kingdoms can coexist together and a wrong from so many years ago can be righted. Koko is part of the Night Pearl Kingdom where her side of the kingdom clashes with the day for supremacy. She enjoys her life in the shadows and in the glow of the moon and doesn't understand what's so great about the day until she encounters a boy with amber eyes. Lito is part of the Day Sky Kingdom and is happy with his life working in the fields until an event causes him to see the world from both points of view. He wants to be with Kiko but that can only be possible if they discover what caused the rift of their kingdoms in the first place. This story is loosely based on tales that people have come up with about legends of how the sun and moon came to be. Follow Koko and Lito as they discover a way to fix the past and discover a destiny that might tear them apart. Author’s Note: I will post a new chapter every week to two weeks.

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Long ago nature ruled the Earth. There were no wars, poverty, unnecessary killings, there was, simply put; harmony.

There was no sun nor moon, instead, the sky was blanketed with silver that twinkled upon the leaves like dew. No one knows how but one day two people sprung up. A man named Sulien and a woman named Callisto. They knew not from where their names came from only that it was their first thought when their eyes blinked open.

The man awoke lying in a wheat field that glistened like silver, while the woman awoke submerged halfway in a pool of water that reflected like glass. A bit disoriented they both stood and gazed around at the world around them. All of a sudden a sharp pang seemed to rupture from both of their chests and they cried out in pain as their heart seemed to be trying to tear itself from the confines of their ribs and leap from underneath the skin.

Before they both realized it they were running. Sulien's legs pounded the Earth and from his footsteps sprung mountains and valleys where there were once plains. Callisto's footsteps we're so light and quick that she never grazed the ground so was unaware of the rumbling of the Earth as it shaped itself to Sulien's will. They knew not where their legs were carrying them, all they knew is that the pain in their chests dwindled as their legs carried them

faster past deer that grazed and trees that held limbs that spanned across the never-ending sky.

A clearing could be seen through the dense trees and a light shined through calling to them both like a beacon.

Sulien burst forth from the forest and his feet stilled as he faced the most beautiful creature that he had ever seen. Her body was draped in white cloth that flowed elegantly against her body and a silvery glow emanated from her skin. Bits of her hair were pulled from her face to reveal a petite oval shape, with the rest of her hair falling down around her like a waterfall. He finally focused on her eyes that were almond shaped and held the color of the lightest blue.

He stood before me a mountain of a man. His skin was golden with hair like a wheat field but a pale yellow rather than silver. His eyes held a happy glow inside of them as he stared at me in silence. The grass beneath his bare feet seemed to flourish from his presence and the trees reached out to him as if begging to be a part of the light that surrounded him.

It took them both a minute to realize that pain no longer emanated from their chests. Finally, Sulien spoke,

"Who are you that puts nature's beauty to shame?"

Her skin held almost no trace of color but a light pink tinged her cheeks as she spoke,

"I wish I could tell you handsome stranger but, alas, all I have is my name and nothing more."

"Would you give me the honor of hearing your name?"he asked.

"It is, Callisto," she whispered to him. "Would you tell me yours?"

"I would love nothing more than for my name to grace your lips," he said with a bow.

"Sulien? Sulien." She rolled the name around on her tongue and spoke it twice and found to her great surprise that he seemed to glow brighter when she spoke his name.

Sulien then spoke," The earth beneath my feet tells me that there is only you and I here that can speak the same language, after that there are the animals with their own way of speaking."

"What are we to do?" Callisto asked.

"Let's explore and learn about one another, " he answered and stretched out his hand to her. She gazed at it from her side of the clearing and timidly began to walk towards him.

He watched in awe as her feet never seemed to touch the earth that his feet were firmly planted on and even in her timidness she walked with a grace unmatched even by deer.

When she reached him he smiled at her with a gentleness that washed her uncertainties away and gave her the courage to take his hand as he led her out of the clearing.
