Chapter 23 - Last Laugh Part 3/3

"I'm sorry...Alisa." Ethan mutters before taking a deep breath. He was going to use a breathe attack to burn her

After hearing her name called one last name, she regains clarity as her tear fell even more as she realized what she had done.

Before she had gotten here, she had already killed several people who had nothing to do with her, snatching their lives away as if they were mere trinkets.

She then gazes into Ethan's red eyes and somehow felt comfort as small smile forms on her lips.

"I'm sorry... Eth-AHHHHHHHH!!!"

Alisa lets another ear-piercing scream as her body was covered in golden flames. The flames were the most painful thing she has ever experienced in her short 18 years of life.

It incinerated her flesh all the way to the bone in a matter of seconds, but her death wasn't instant which meant she felt every bit of it.

"AHHHHHH!!...." Soon the screaming stopped. just as she was reduced to ashes.

Ethan did not look good after he did the deed, he had thought his flames would put our of misery faster, but instead, he had to hold her and hear her scream for nearly half a minute as he burned her alive.

("Don't blame yourself, boy...Blood Demons...have a lot of vitality...Even if you decided to kill her another way it would have been the same.") Tydris explained.

Quickly forcing back his feelings, he'd look at Harley whose professional past suddenly kicked in and she tightly embraced him. She was glad the girl was gone, but she could tell her man's decision was eating him up inside.

"Ethan...I-"

"No...not right now...we need to leave.." He replied walking over to the Joker with Harley close behind.

"Does...my ear..hurts...or is that just me?... Ha-"

*Bang!* Harley had picked up his gun and shot Joker between his eyes, robbing him of laughing. "Go to hell.." She growled, tossing the gun on his chest.

One of Gotham Cities worse criminal was no more...

After this, Raven would rid herself of the pain inside of her head and she was shocked at what they had done.

"You....killed them?" She couldn't help but ask, although, she knew she came to Earth to find people to help kill her Father.

"Raven..." Ethan turned to look at the twenty-year-old woman. One would know underneath that cloak was a beauty unlike any other that unfortunately has a tragic origin story that was 10 times as worse as his own.

"I was right...you do know my name...how?" Raven curiously asked while raising her guard a bit.

"I'll explain...but could you take us out of here..?"

Raven would gaze into Ethan's eyes trying to discern what he said was the truth or not. She used her empathic abilities once more almost out of habit and senses the man was being serious. However, that was as far as she looked as she was afraid to be hurt again.

Raven slowly relaxed her guard and sighed as she took off her hood, revealing her face. "Ok..."

As soon as Harley called Bud and Lou over, Raven used her powers to teleport them out of the bank and to the abandoned building she's been meditating at for the past several days.

After the group was gone, Dick and Barbara returned on the scene only to find the wreckage and the body of Joker. Although they listened to Bruce's teachings there was a sense of relief that he was gone.

The man couldn't take any more lives, but they knew they couldn't celebrate and quickly returned to Wayne Manor to inform Bruce.

Barbara couldn't help but feel regretful and useless... 'Where did you go?...' She asked herself as there was a bit of longing in her eyes, but then she shook her head.

He'll be classified as a villain and she was a hero.

It's best if they never met again.

Soon after they were gone, the police did

their investigation and cleaned up the dead bodies.

It was soon leaked that the 'Clown Prince of Crime' was dead.

Once everything was done and people left the premises a portal suddenly appeared in the vault room and out from it was a man with purple skin, dressed in strange armor that drew inspiration from bones, giving him a terrifying look as he sniffed the air.

"Such an unfortunate soul...." He said with a slightly high pitch voice that echoed.

"You've gone through so much pain...and I'll have you go through even more pain...And for that I'm sorry..." The man said as his pitch-black eyes with yellow irises cried black ink like tears. He then wiped them away, gathering enough to let fall on the floor, forming a small puddle.

"Arise...and serve me for eternity...Let us reclaim what was taken from us..." He muttered and as soon as the tears touched the ground a red magic seal appeared with a wind that whipped through his long red hair.

"AHHHHHHH!!!" The scream of great pain echoed through the room as a white hand appeared from the seal before a full body is formed connected to it.

Soon after the body appeared, the screaming had stopped. "Where...?" The person muttered weakly.

"Endure..." The man whispered and suddenly the person grips their head and lets out another scream much louder than before as they writhed on the floor.

"Endure as I have for centuries!!"

"Get...GE OUT... GET OUT OF MY HEAAAAD!!" The person screamed as they repeatedly slammed their head against the floor even after it started to draw blood.

"You...are mine."

After being teleported away, Ethan told her to take them home instead and they obliged after he told her the location.

Several minutes later, they finally arrived at Pamela's apartment and before they even opened the door, Pamela came running out only to hug Ethan as hard as she could with her strength.

She was the one that had the most connection to him and she could sense through her brand that her man was suffering a bit.

'Ethan you can talk to me if you wish...I'm told I'm a great listener.'' Pamela said soothingly with her mind as she gently ran her fingers through his hair and across his cheek.

'I just...need to sleep it off...but not now...I need to talk with Raven.' He replied back.

Pamela looked to see a woman that rivaled even her beauty, and immediately she felt a bit intimidated and jealous. However, not as much as Harley as Raven had not left her sight since they left the bank.

'Ugh...Why is she pretty?! You better not make a move or I'll move on you with my bat!' Harley thought as she glared at her.

Raven could somewhat feel what the two were thinking about and honestly, it didn't bother her because her attention was solely on Ethan.

As they entered the apartment, Pamela would look down to see two hyenas with their heads down as they followed after Harley.

"Will those two behave?" The villainess asked.

"They will...they have been strangely quiet though. I wonder if something is wrong." Harley replied.

If one were to look closely then they could tell their eyes would dart from Ethan to Harley as they stuck close to her side.

Once everyone was settled in the living room, the questions would start to fly.

"I'm really fine don't worry about it," Ethan answered with a small smile to rid his mates of their worries.

Pamela frowned at this, "But.."

"I'll talk to you guys later, but it's important that I talk with Raven...alone."

Harley frowned and folded her arm, "What? Don't you trust us?" She asked feeling a bit hurt. Even Myra who was silent the entire time felt the same pain.

The dragon guard had spoken with Pamela about her question and she still felt clueless, but the villainess's advice made her feel slightly closer to understand her new feelings.

He hadn't given her any important task to do and nor has she received any praises or thanks she desperately craved from her master.

'Master...' Her signature stoic face didn't change but somehow there was a look of sadness.

'Harley...' Ethan whispered into her mind, forcing her to look into his eyes as he crashes his lips against hers.

"Mm!..~" The villainess was surprised at first, but then she'd started to enjoy the intimacy, grabbing hold of his head as she kisses back. In the back of her mind, she knew what he was doing, but she quickly decided to slightly forgive him.

As calm as Raven usually is, she was not prepared to see the two on the opposite couch make out in front of her. 'What are they doing??!"

Several minutes later, Harley would let go of him and obediently left for her room with her pets behind her.

'After the other two leave, we'll talk and then I'll immediately leave.' Raven thought, shaking her head to calm herself

But she was surprised again as the red-haired woman standing behind the couch pulled Ethan's head back and kissed him as well while conveying her love and worry for him.

'Both of them?!' Raven stared in shock as the two mashed their lips together before eventually separating.

'Don't tell me he's going to kiss the third!' She glanced at Myra who quickly noticed she was being looked at

.

"Myra..."

Ethan's voice forced her to look at Ethan and bow her head. "I'll do as you say, master..."

"Thank you.." He replied.

Myra suddenly felt a chill run through her mind as a small blush appeared on her cheeks despite being hard to see and a small smile formed on her face.

"Your welcome..." She said in a soft whisper before scurrying after Pamela left for her room.

The action wasn't caught by Ethan, but Raven could understand all of it.

'Three girls in love? This man is greedy..' Raven thought, pulling her hood back over her head.

Soon after everyone left the room, the two would eventually talk as Ethan first explains what kind of person he was, but leaving out being reincarnated.

Raven knew he was telling the truth, but also figured he was leaving stuff out, but she'd ignore it's for the moment.

After he was done talking, Raven then decided to tell a bit of her own story, but she stopped when Ethan spoke again.

"I know of Trigon "

"....!?" She was shocked once again. "But...I haven't even told the Justice League of the threat of his coming! How did you..!?"

Raven suddenly stands up and starts to generate her mystical powers, forming spheres made out of darkness that wrapped around her hands.

"I'm not in the mood...to fight again." Ethan solemnly said as his eyes flashed with a vicious light.

Normally, Raven wasn't one to be afraid, but looking at those eyes of his forced her power down and sit back on the couch. The back of her neck would trickle with sweat as she avoided his gaze.

She felt fear similar to what it feels when her father tried to get into her head.

("Boy don't frighten her too much...She can help you") Tydris said.

'Help me?... Help me how?' He replied, clenching his fist.

("You aren't fooling anyone here...I know that decision was hard for you, but it was the only way. Or were you going let her kill thousands more until her sanity was regained?") The dragon asked.

'No...but'

("You'll need to get over it or it will affect your cultivation. This woman can help you find a place better to absorb energy.")

'How?....'

("She's similar to that of the spirit folk. I can sense it. They can naturally find places abundant with energy. A skill we lack as dragons until the later stages.")

'Her?...'
