Darkness.
All I could see around me was Darkness.
Drip… Drip… Drip.
The rhythmic sound echoes in my mind. My feet unconsciously carry me towards the sound.
Drip… Drip… Drip.
'A Light?' I question.
My legs shake as they propel me towards the light that illuminates the Darkness. My heartbeat accelerates, as my steps change, I feel a liquid on my bare toes. They squish and they splash through the thick mystery goo.
Drip… Drip… Drip.
As I get closer to the light cutting through the Darkness, I start to feel a sense of security, of warmth. Until my eyes
focus on the limp arm suspended in mid air above a sea of red: and that sense of warmth is replaced with a strong sense of panic and despair. My heart accelerates and my pulse quickens.
"Cassidy." All the blood drains from my face. A chill runs down my spine, as an echo whispers my name. Examining the limb, there's a steady flow of blood running down the arm and off an extended digit.
Drip��� Drip… Drip.
The smell of iron and salt fills my nostrils.
"Cassidy!" a hand darts out and lands on my shoulder. Quickly I spin on my heel and turn the opposite direction, instantly regretting it, Because, emerging from the Darkness is a pair of ice blue eyes ringed in the color of blood!
