The world has been at war for 78 years, in that time, two factions rose to power.
The Northern Kingdom of Naldel, a newly formed monarchy that is struggling to keep itself running. They aren't harvesting any food for their people, instead decided to use their plots for food to train their ground troops.
Then there is the Everlasting Empire of the Southern wall Gleighmourn. The Gleighmourian Emperor has existed since time immemorial, no human or history record remembers a time before the emperor. Rumours said that he was harvesting the power emitted by the Borrowers who access the Holy Space, but no one has been able to confirm that theory. The rumour spread before the war even began, when a reporter claimed that she had seen it happen before her own eyes. She was said to have been the first woman to see the emperor's face in 500 years. But before that rumour gained any traction to turn the anti-war protests into a full-on rebellion; especially for the dwindling population of Borrowers, the woman vanished under mysterious circumstances. No one has seen her since.
On the year 78 after the first conflict broke out, the first son of the current northern king was born. His name, Alexi Turgenev, everyone had high hopes for him, hoping that once he became king he would put a stop to the meaningless conflict that started so long ago. There was a great celebration across the capital, strangers from all over their kingdom entered the castle to drink and feast on the generosity of the northern king, people rejoiced and placed their high hopes onto this newborn. It is said that the party was so loud that it was heard across the entire globe and into the chambers of the Emperor.
Around the same time, a peasant woman was giving birth to a small, almost too small, baby in the outskirts of the empire. Most doctors looking at him would say that he wasn't going to make it to the first week, especially since the winter cold was coming.
He was just so brittle, thin and fragile.
No one would expect that little Viktor would put a stop to this Century War.
