Chapter 29 - It was obvious

- I…umm… - Sarah fidgeted a bit desperately looking for John, but he was now nowhere to be seen.

- What class are you having? – asked the teacher.

- Biology.

- Then enter the room before I do it.

Sarah didn't wait for this to be repeated and quickly got inside the biology lab and sat on her seat next to Zack.

- What did he want from you? - asked Dobro with a caring expression.

- Will you cut it off? – Zlo couldn't take it anymore.

- What do you mean?

- Oh, please! It's so obvious that you are not naturally warm towards others!

- And what makes you think so?

"What makes me think so?!" thought Sarah "You are so f*cking obvious!"

From the moment he entered the math room she noticed how fake he acted.

Was this a way to hide his true identity from his classmates?

The surprised face he had when he saw her after entering the class of Ms. Tassk was indeed a good one…for a movie. Behind it was hidden the wolf who was fully observing his presumed victim.

But how could Sarah detect that, when even his eyes seemed surprised… at least at first sight? He was an experienced manipulator and she knew that the moment she bumped into him and spilled his coffee.

As a professional serial killer she had to depend on her initial instincts more than the average person, therefore when the alarm in her head turned on to warn her, she didn't neglect it, but looked deeper in the meaning behind Zack's reaction.

It was not normal keeping in mind the way he acted in the café, but at least now she knew he was after her.

When Tassk made them solve the problems on the board he obviously knew the answer but purposely pretended not to in order to test Sarah's abilities and hopefully check if she could actually be worth his suspicions.

Unfortunately Sarah had no idea the formula she used was actually one nobody before her had margined and proved what a mathematical genius she actually is.

Well for goodness sake, only being a perfect mathematician wasn't enough of an evidence to show her true identity, otherwise all the people majoring math would be serial killers.

But what was up with those reactions?

If he really wanted to be seen as a nice boy by the public, then he wouldn't be so cold to Sarah, who was a completely unfamiliar to him.

No, something else was there…

Did he try to make it up for their first time meeting each other?

Well that was the most logical explanation.

He had found the approach of Sarah suspicious, therefore made sure she knew he was not dump and was after her, but now in school he has no time or place to do that and just sticks to his regular innocent act.

- Sarah Zlo? – the voice of the teacher, who had already introduced herself and now was checking if all the students were attending, interrupted Sarah's speculations.

- Present.

- Oh so you are Sarah Zlo. It's been less than an hour since the school year started and you already managed to create yourself quite a name.

- I'm flattered.

- Don't be. Tassk told me you are amazing at math, but from what I know this is not enough to make you second at the entry test.

- Oh, I am not that good at biology if you ask that. – Sarah tried to lie to not let Zack check another thing in his list of trades of serial killers.

- I will be to decide this.
