"What are you doing here?" she asked.
He laughed as his eyes examined her. It had been so long and yet, he never knew he would find her here of all the places.
The Promise Ranch.
"I should be the one asking you that, Monique Fisher."
She rolled her eyes. Clearly, this guy did not know who he was talking to.
She smiled proudly.
"I'm staying here tonight."
Jacob smirked and as if to taunt her, he strode over to her, making her stepped backward. Her heart suddenly beats faster than normal as he took more steps towards her, and she continued stepping backward until her back hits the wall. She gulped as he stood in front of her, sweeping his eyes on her face.
Panic was in her eyes as she suddenly felt trapped and heat rose to her cheeks as her eyes met his.
Jacob saw her blushed as his eyes filled in every detail of her face. He could not believe she still looked the same since high school.
He gazed at her jade green eyes, and found himself biting his lower lip as his eyes focused on her thin pink lips.
"Welcome home then, Ms. Fisher."
