Chapter 168 - A Dismissal

"Your dismissal letter."

"But why, Madam?" Ah-Yeong asked with worry written over her face.

"Why? You ask me why?" The principal scoffed and said "Mrs. Jung, Do I even have to tell you the reason for this? You already are very smart to know the reason as to why I am dismissing you from this school."

"I...I..." Ah-Yeong felt short of words upon hearing the principal. Well, what she told was right...

She was smart enough to understand as to why she was being fired from the school. She had been attending school very rarely and spending all her mornings at Dae-Hyun's place. Surely, the children's parents might have complained regarding this.

But if she was being fired then shouldn't Dae-Hyun be fired too? Afterall, he also used to accompany her.

As she opened her mouth to speak, the door was knocked and opened and Ah-Yeong turned around to see who had entered. Her heart was in relief to see Dae-Hyun walking inside.

She smiled at him but didn't receive his respond.

"You can leave, Mrs. Jung. I am done with you!"

She heard the order of the principal and she walked out after bowing and having one glance at Dae-Hyun. But to her surprise, she didn't see him looking at her. She felt a little disappointed and walked out of the room.

Walking into the staff room, she started to clean her desk. Thankfully, no other teacher was around otherwise, it would have been hectic to explain everyone. But she did have to say everyone goodbye after all, she had been working here for a few years.

It all felt similar to the time when she was leaving this school after graduating. After realizing that she would no longer see this school, she had become very dull and upset. But Dae-Hyun was there to keep her company.

And after getting a higher degree, she had again come back to the same school where she was taught but this time as a teacher to teach other students.

It honestly became very sad and heart-breaking for Ah-Yeong. She had been diligently working here for years until she started going around with Dae-Hyun. She didn't mean to say that Dae-Hyun was the root cause of all this and that she regretted doing that.

All Ah-Yeong meant was that she should have kept her both lives separate, her working life and her personal life separate.

But she hadn't done so. She had interfered her working life with her personal one and had caused this dismissal upon herself.

Nevertheless, she was glad to know that she wasn't the only one who was being dismissed. After seeing Dae-Hyun in the principal's room, she understood that the principal was going to fire him too.

Well, she wanted to be with him and leave with him.

Time by time, teachers came and Ah-Yeong began to tell everyone that she was leaving. Everyone was upset and shocked by the news but they even cheered her up saying that she would find somewhere really good to work.

Ah-Yeong was glad that she had supportive people alongside her.

After arranging all her stuffs in a small carton, she waited for Dae-Hyun to come thinking that they both would leave together. But it had already been time for lunch and she didn't see Dae-Hyun come inside the staff room.

Then she saw a teacher taking some books from Dae-Hyun's table and she asked "Are you taking them to Mr. Kang?"

As the teacher gave a nod, she took the books from him and asked him to tell where Dae-Hyun was.

When she got to know that Dae-Hyun was in a classroom, Ah-Yeong hurriedly rushed to that classroom and saw him communicating with a child. She knocked on the door and Dae-Hyun looked up.

"These are your books, Mr. Kang." She said with an annoyed tone and walked out of the classroom.

Then, she took out her phone and texted Dae-Hyun asking him to come outside. A minute later, Dae-Hyun walked out and Ah-Yeong asked with a frown on her face.

"Did the principal not say anything to you?"

'So, you are finally showing what you can be, Ah-Yeong.' Dae-Hyun smirked and answered with an innocent look on his face "What do you mean? What did she had to say?"

"Did she not dismiss you?"

Upon hearing this, Dae-Hyun asked while raising one of his brows "Dismiss? And me?"

This came as a shock to Ah-Yeong and she felt that she was electrified to the core. Then, she said that she was dismissed and Dae-Hyun took this as a chance to ask "Were you thinking that I would be dismissed too?"

As he saw Ah-Yeong giving a nod, he scoffed "Ha! And here I thought my girlfriend would wish the best for me... and she wanted me to be dismissed with her??? Wow! Nice, Ah-Yeong."

"But you said that you would..."

"Stop being so dumb, Ah-Yeong. Work and personal lives all are done separately. I can't sacrifice my good living life because of you."

With that, Dae-Hyun walked away with a smirk on his face leaving Ah-Yeong behind.

Ah-Yeong was stunned by his behavior and she felt at a loss of words. As she saw him leave, she quietly stared at his back which disappeared in the next room. Taking her stuff, Ah-Yeong arrived home. Today felt like the worst day of her life and she walked inside her house holding her carton of things.
