Quentin's small body shivered in the biting cold, although he was wrapped in a thick blanket and in a small basket.
A large hand was holding the basket's handle and set the basket down on their lap as they sat down on what seemed to be a motorcycle. It seemed a bit dangerous, but it was fine with him.
'So Dime was his sister? Did the mother, or should I say- my mother volunteer me for experimentation? But why would she do it? Was it for money? Is she still alive?' He thought as he felt the wind find a gap in the basket and began to cool him down.
Let's not think of this now. Instead let's look at what I can buy with the AP I gained. Also, I took it for granted when I was reborn, and I need to look for clues as to what world this was, because the system didn't seem to want to help me or tell me.
'Activate.'
'And also system, can you show me tools will help me in this world?'
The system interface appeared.

'System, that reminds me, can I open my system starting package?'
'Unable to do so. The starting package cannot be opened when your body is still mutating. Although the main part of the mutation is over, as I said before, it will keep affecting your body. And also, What do you need it for at this point? Your body is still in it's infancy!'
'You have a point. Okay then. I'll wait for the mutation to end. System, can you estimate when the mutations will end?'
'Yes. It will stop mutating when your body is approximately 12 years old. your body. now is 4 months old. This body was born July 9th, 1980.
Right now is December 9th, 1980.'
Quentin began to have a bad feeling.
'System, where am I? And Dime mention the... Ministry of ... Magic? '
'London, Driving on the london bridge. And yes, the relative of your body did discuss about the Ministry of Magic to the male named Jamel.'
'System, am I in...The Harry Potter universe?'
'Yep.'
'Of course not, I must be craz- Wait what?!'
'That was the surprise! Aren't you surprised?'
'Yes, but why did you hide it from me in the first place if you were going to admit to it at some point?'
'My last host told me that it would be funny if I did!'
'What happened to that guy?'
'He died.'
'Karma. Anyways, system, now that I know which world I'm in, what do I do for the next 11 years of my life, and this is saying I enter hogwarts without any problems.'
'You can try to get adopted soon and gain AP, but if that doesn't happen you may not make till your eleventh birthday alive.'
'Why not?'
'Because your mutations are giving you energy that you cannot contain, and as an example of what will happen when you hit the limit, imagine the energy of 10 nukes exploding all at once. But although your energy source is deadly, if you manage to mutate into a race that is strong enough to contain the energy or can strengthen itself and evolve constantly, this problem will be solved, and with the control over the energy, you can gain unimaginable power.
But that is to say that you can control it. If you evolve enough, you can suppress it, but suppression and control are two very different things. And although you can try to dampen your powers as you are doing now, it can help, but it will only stall the inevitable.'
Quentin's blood ran cold. He was happy that he had a terrifying power at first, but now, it seemed like a burden that weighed a ton. Being a ticking time bomb that was dangerous to people around him just added on to that.
Just as he was about to ask the system something, he felt the motorcycle slowly come to a stop.
He felt the basket being carried and suddenly the the coldness began to recede. It was then replaced by a warmness.
Quentin began to feel drowsy, and slowly began to drift asleep.
-5 years later-
Quentin woke up, clambering off his bed, getting ready for school as he thought how to get more AP from his friends.
He had hopes that he would manage to get some AP at the foster home, but nobody seemed interested in getting attached to one another because it would only magnify the feeling of betrayal and the pain of losing a friend if they got adopted. So he had hoped to get some AP from school. But it wasn't as easy as it seemed.
One would think that it would be fairly easy to make friends in the 80's, no? Well it wasn't. For a multitude of reasons. He dressed differently than other people from the 80's and had different terms for things, as he had grown up as an american in his last life.
An example would be when he saw what people here in london called candy floss, he would automatically think 'cotton candy', he would call fringes bangs, a biscuit a cookie. Although he managed to copy what other people said and did, there was one thing he couldn't change. His accent.
This raises the question, do accents follow you even if you were reborn? And the answer would be yes. His mind would use his past life's experience in speaking and copy it and his body would feel accustomed to it because he had a lifetime's worth of memories of speaking a certain way.
Although he could try to mimic a british accent, the accent wouldn't be truly authentic and would sound weird. And his appearance had no resemblance to any British person, most likely due to his mutations changing his appearance slightly over time.
Another off topic thing was the music. He couldn't get used to the kind of music people played and sung at school.
He lived a very strange life. slowly gathering AP until finally one day, he was called to the lobby by the government agents that were there to handle the paperwork.
He saw a elderly pair sitting down, looking expectantly at the hallway he was walking through. He felt a bout of excitement at the thought of being adopted. Not just because it meant more AP, but because he had felt lonely these past five years.
He had been stuck in a small body, worrying about the dampener that had started to lose effect on his ever growing power and the effects of what would happen if he failed to become strong enough to suppress his powers soon.
Not to mention he was placed in a run down foster home, although it was fine with him despite he never seemed to have enough to eat.
So getting adopted would save him mentally and maybe physically.
He walked closer, trying to lower his hopes so that it didn't hurt as badly if they didn't choose him. He saw the pair look at each other and back at him and he suddenly became tense.
His movements became slightly stiff as he slowly walked closer until he was standing right in front of them.
They looked at him and seemingly came to a decision. They stood up, and spoke out:
'We are going to.....'
