I close my eyes and smile as the wind hums around us. The silence is a comfortable one since there's not much say, Austin is driving and I'm trying to keep myself from slipping into my urge of ogling him until next year, which isn't that far if you ask me, I mean, it's already near the end of October, and I really can't wait to see what Mia is going to plan for our Halloween costumes.
"April, you're staring." He says in a reading voice and I feel myself getting red. Come on! I wasn't supposed to be looking at him, he's just too... too alluring!
He chuckles as I huff and cross my arms, glaring at the buildings. Austin's hand reaches out to play with my hair causing me to relax into his touch.
"If you want, you can sleep, I'll wake you up when we get there." His soothing voice has me blinking slowly but I shake my head and smack his hand away, I'm not letting him make me sleep.
I lean over to the back and grab the food that Austin had stopped to get. "Are we going to be out all night again?" I ask and he shakes his head, glancing at me and smiling when he sees me popping open the bag of Churros. What? I love it!
"I see you're already stuffing yourself." He says as he looks back at the road. I roll my eyes and throw three Churros into my mouth, licking my fingers and chewing while I look out the window.
"Have you seen your parents since you came back?" I ask him but he doesn't answer, his face just falls a little and he looks at me, shaking his head silently.
"Oh, so should I assume that's where we're going so I can brace myself or...?" I ask and throw four more Churros in my mouth.
He chuckles and throws his head back causing my heart to flutter, I find myself smiling at his beautiful laugh. "No April, we're just going to meet some of my friends, they've been bugging my life all night, if I didn't shut my phone down, u seat I wouldn't have gotten any sleep." He says and I roll my eyes but I'm happy he was able to sleep seeing that he's insomniac.
"What can I say? I am a ray of sunshine!" I say smugly. He raises a brow at me for which I smack him again. He hisses and pouts at me, before smiling smugly.
"You know April, you could have just told me you love smacking guys you're into, I mean, I'm not into that stuff but I could do anything for you babe." He says causing me to blush and glare again at the buildings running by.
After a few minutes of him trying to coarse me into talking to him, yes I'm ignoring him, he finally pulls over by a small café just out of town and looks at me with pleading eyes.
"Come on Ap, I said I'm sorry, do you want me to give you a breathtaking kiss for you to know this, or you want more Churros, or I could let you smack my chest for the rest of my life, just please say something." He pouts and makes puppy eyes at me, so I decide to play with him for a little longer.
"Something." I say and open the car door, strong down and shutting it behind me before dramatically flicking my dreads back and over my shoulder and I could almost imagine it in slow motion. I don't bother looking back or else Austin would see the smile threatening to split my face in half breaking my cool demeanor: The signature smirk.
I open the door and walk into the café, the warmth hitting my skin causing me to breathe in sharply, exhaling slowly as the scent of sweetened cinnamon fills my nostrils.
The bell at the top of the door chimes again and I feel someone standing behind me, skin grazing against mine, tingles spreading fast up and down my arm. I don't look up, or else he'd definitely see the beetroot color branding my face.
"How did you know that this is the café?" He asks as the door shuts, his hot breath fanning down my neck. I look up, my eyes narrowing and my brows furrowing.
"Because Kai Winters is here."

I walk over to the table and smile at the people there already. Three of the guys look up at me and one raises a brow, a smirk forming etching at his lips.
"Well, look what we have here? Una dama tan hermosa." He says, his pearly whites flashing at me. Kai bored as usual throws a chip into her mouth and blinks slowly at me.
"Well what are you waiting for princess, a royal invitation? Sit your behind down." She says sharply and I roll my eyes.
"A royal invitation would be very much appreciated but I highly doubt you have the brains to come up with a single 'Hello' in written form." I say and make sure to scrape the chair back and sit in it.
She glares at my head before looking behind me and her scowl lessens a little but it's still there. "Hey Henderson! why'd you bring your guard dog with you, it would have been better better if you brought Malcom!" She says and the boys ooh causing Austin to tug her hair.
He sits next to me and pulls my chair, scraping it against the floor causing everyone in the café to look at us with annoyed glances and I narrow my eyes at him. He wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls e buy pouts when he doesn't feel too comfortable with his arm stretching too far.
No, since that crazy display didn't have Kai's jaw hanging, he definitely wasn't impressed and just decided, well, since you know I'm as light as a rag doll, he just holds me by my waist and pulls me into his lap, locking my down by putting his jaw in the crook of my neck and pulling me to rest my back against his chest.
My face obviously flushes beet root red as his warmth envelops me, his hair tickling my shoulder.
"Guys, meet my soon to be girlfriend!" He exclaims and Kai's chip falls to the floor, I guess jaw hanging wasn't the last reaction.
The first guy that spoke to me laughed with his hand covering his mouth in an O shape. "Dude, that is sick, your chic is fine, bro! So you wanna be smooth huh? What are you now, the new Jordan Fisher?" He hollers and I nod my head, afraid that they'll be able to determine what color I will be when he actually asks me the question.
Wait, did he say soon to be girlfriend? I thought I was already...
Well, I guess I'll just ask him later.
"Yeah, I'm planning something grand! Maybe with a bit of French and a fake English accent, you are from England aren't you?" He turns my head to face him, my lips brushing against his.
"Woah! Keep it PG people." The other guy that has been sitting quietly at the table suddenly laughs. Austin chuckles under his breath, his warm hands holding mine in his hands.
"Yeah, take his advice 'cause I could really throw up right now." Kai scoffs and leans back in her chair, glaring out the window.
What's her problem?
Almost as if she read my mind, her head slowly turns to me and she scowls, before jerking her head back.
The door opens and I hear the bubbly voice of Neferankh and angle my neck to see River walking to us with his daughter.
"Hey baby." He says and kisses Kai's forehead, bumping fists with the two other guys before turning to Austin and pausing to look me over. "Hey April, what are you doing in Luke's lap?" He asks as he fist bumps Austin.
"Oh well, you know, I'm held captive by the mighty arms of the greatest warrior in the history books." I say with fake enthusiasm and rub Austin's lean muscles. River rolls his eyes but smiles at me, grabbing my chair and going to sit next to Kai, pulling Neferankh into his lap.
"How do you guys know each other?" Kai asks, a weird tone in her voice and I could see recognition in River's eyes, Austin already silently laughing.
"When I went to England for a shoot where I met her sister, you know for that new brand of clothes from Delilah's, yeah, she came to pick June up." He explains, holding Neferankh close to him. Kai stares at him for some time before shrugging.
"I knew, just wanted to see if you'd be willing to lose some extra hair you know." She says and smiles, silently sipping her milkshake.
River laughs nervously and looks back at us.
I guess Kai is more scary than I assume her to be.

"Come on guys, I promise it's going to be fun!" Nigel yells, pulling us towards the club. Austin just groans but walks with me, making sure to hold my waist.
"We're just wasting our time here! Nigel come on." I plead but he starts dancing, shouting hard and blocking his ears causing everyone to look at us. Once again, we're the center of attention.
I groan and clutch Austin's arm and he just laughs, pulling me to the club. The thumping beat of the music reaches me as Nigel rushes us through, flashing a smile at the bouncer at the entrance before pushing us through, stopping to take a breath in at the sight of flickering lights, the strong smell of sweat, alcohol and some vape. People grinding against each other, some just quietly making out and some... already getting in on it.
I look at Austin but find him already looking at me, his deep blue eyes watching me closely. "Are you okay? With all of this I mean." He says and I smile, yes, club scenes are not my type but I know that Austin rarely gets out and when he does, he gets a little wild, so I'll let him have the fun of it.
"I'm fine, come on, let's go get some drinks." I say and pull him with me to the bar. He chuckles as we reach the bartender, the guy eyeing me up and down but I look at what I'm wearing, just a simple shirt and a jean jacket with pants.
"What can I get you darling?" He hums and I look at Austin, shrugging and he just rolls his eyes.
"She'll have a Paloma and I'll just have the normal whiskey." He says and the bartender nods, getting to his job. I turn around to face Austin, a silly grin on my face.
"I never took you as a whiskey guy." I breathe and he just laughs, but not for one second taking his eyes off the bartender. I understand this. My hands reach up to play with his stubble, the sharp small hairs pricking at my fingers, sending a delicious spark through them.
"Here you go miss." The bartender says and I turn around and smile, taking my drink from him. He hands Austin his whiskey and we both take a seat, watching Nigel suck on a girl's face and Kole glaring at anybody that bums into him. He's a hair freak, as I have observed.
"You know we could ditch them right." Austin suddenly says and I see him shaking his head at something Nigel is doing. I laugh and gulp down what's left in the glass.
"Yes we could, but I want you to have fun, and I want to have fun. So you are going to finish that drink of yours, and we are going to dance, you know, going all out like crazy hormonal highschool teenagers that have just found out the high of being at a party!" I clap my hands and he laughs, gulping the whiskey down in one go and slamming the glass against the table, standing up and pulling me along with him, suddenly pumped about being highschoolers again.
I start shaking my shoulders slightly, laughing when he does a move my uncle used to do and he grabs my hand, spinning me. We're in perfect contrast to everyone in this building. It's like we're in out own world where the only music we hear is ours. His hands grab my waist, pulling me close to him and swaying my hips as he moves to the beat. I plant my back flush against his chest, wrapping my arms around his neck and laughing softly as he bumps into someone but doesn't seem to care.
His nose brushes against the crook of my neck, his warm breath fanning against my skin. My hand caresses his neck, tangling with his hairs. I bite my lip, letting out a sigh when his grip tightens, his hands sliding down to my hips causing me to gasp. He chuckles softly in my ear, grabbing my lobe between his teeth and tugging. My hands start to feel like jello against his neck, so I use my nails to hold myself but he hisses, tugging harder and sucking my lobe.
Some sound comes out of me and my eyes widen. He spins me around so we're chest to chest, his lips just mere inches from mine.
"I'm sorry, I di-" he cuts me off by planting his lips on mine, his tongue running over the seam if my mouth. His teeth grabs my lip and he tugs, my hands find their way into his hair and I smile into the kiss, loving the warmth of his lips against mine, the heat his fingers transfer, the electricity that sparks the air around us.
When he pulls away, his lips are red and swollen, and I guess so are mine. He smiles and rests his head against mine, before chuckling.
"I am deeply in love with you April Freeman!"
