As days turned to months and months turned to years I gradually grew to love my new parents. They were very nice people that would always make time for me no matter what was going on.
The years we spent together were generally peaceful with occasional monster attack. During my first three years I would generally do nothing but eat, play and sleep. During those three years both mom and dad would talk a bunch about their past exploits. My favorites were my dads stories where he would talk about him sprinting through the battle field decapitating enemies as he went. It was honestly a little confusing as vampires have are one of the most magically inclined races. One could even argue that they are the best when it came to magic. Of course there are probably stronger beings but those are mostly extinct. What I learned about my father is that four things he loves the most in this world.
1. Mom and me
2. His sword
3. The battlefield
It was a bit surprising(?) but once I thought about it, it made sense. Of course when I heard about swords I immediately wanted to learn how to use one like in the novels I used to read as a kid but thinking it over I realized a flaw in my thinking. I am currently three and a girl albeit an extremely strong one. When I realized this I knew it wouldn't be easy.
When I turned five I instantly got to begging mom to let me train with dad. I was instantly shot down. Despite my failed attempt I was persistent.
...
After three months of begging I finally got mom to cave and I was finally able to train. In exchange mom would teach me things like the world's history, manners and how to read/write. I guessed this was her attempt at trying to beat the tomboy out of me. Unfortunately I was a boy in my previous life and she was doomed to fail. In actuality I was already doing some research into the first thing and was somehow able to do the third, but had been avoiding the second.

Above everything else except for spending time with mom and dad was going to the town 50 miles west from us. When we got there dad cast illusion magic to hide me and moms tails and ears along with my special eyes. Despite some expectation I had deep down humans were very racist in this world. About 95% of the population wouldn't hesitate to kill even the half human races. This was something I was told very early on, which after considering what the humans of the past in my old world did, didn't really surprise me.
Behind a stand that stood on the opposite side of the town square, sat an old man. When he noticed us he started to wave us over.
"Honey, I'm going to catch catch up with a friend" dad said to mom as he carried me towards the stand.
"Ok, I'm going to be over there~." Mom said while pointing to a stand with lots of jewelry.
Despite her seeming to be the kind of person to not indulge herself in things like jewelry she had a sort of attraction to shiny stuff which I soon found I also had. Of course mothers stash was much bigger and we often compared our collection. It's almost like we were dragons fighting to see who could get the most shiny things.
As dad carried me over to the stand I didn't particularly complain as the old man would often bring tales he had heard while on the road which I enjoyed listening to. He would also bring many interesting trinkets that I would beg dad for. To my great displeasure he had a will made of steel and would rarely indulge in my whims. Over the years I had come up with a solution to this which would end up with him caving. First I would put my hands together then put on the most pitiful expression I could muster. I then proceeded to say "I'll tell mommy" in my cutest voice.
"Bahaha, that's one scary daughter ya have there." The old man said in a cheerful tone.
A visible shiver could be seen running down my fathers spine before he caved. Mother was a doting parent and when I didn't get what I wanted she would turn into a monster in the most literal sense.
...
Two years later and it was the morning of my seventh birthday. When I woke up something felt strange. It had felt as if I had grown and when I reached up to rub my eyes I was surprised to see a paw. After freezing for a moment I rushed to my mirror. When I saw my self I let out a scream which sounded more like a dog yelping. In my stead stood a giant wolf that was at least twice as tall as me with beautiful jet black hair and eyes identical to mine. A second later dad and mom burst through the door, both asking if I was alright. When mom spotted me her face went from worry to surprise to then excitement. After many long minutes of explanation I had finally grasped what was going on.
In a werewolf's life there are two major event's that happen at the age of 10 and 16. The first is where you transform into a wolf and the second is where you transform into your run of the mill werewolf that you would hear about in stories or see on tv. I was honestly shocked at first but I gradually grew to get used to it. When in my wolf form I could have probably been mistaken as mom's twin sister if I was a little taller. Of course there was also my eyes. If one looked without my dads illusion magic they would certainly be taken aback. They were half blood-red and half gold. If someone from my old world were to see them they would instantly notice my irises being in the shape of yin-yang. On top of that they would continually rotate and could probably put someone in a trance.
...
Another 2 years passed and I had gotten my parents to teach me how to use magic. I say teach but it's mostly about imagination~ with a dash of mana control.
Tomorrow would be my ninth birthday and I was very excited as we were going to the village. When I wake up I instantly notice something isn't right. There is a lacking of the smell of breakfast being made. I instantly throw on some cloths and rush to the kitchen. When there instead of mom behind the counter preparing breakfast with a side of my favorite berries that can only be found deep inside of the forest, is an empty space. Hundreds of horrible situations rush through my head when it hits me. I quickly calmed myself remembering that mom and dad are the strongest things I this forest. Thinking about it more and become to the conclusion that mom is just being held up by a monster.
As seconds turn to minutes I start to worry again when a familiar scent enters our little clearing. I immediately rush out the door towards the scent. When I spot mom I am shocked Inyo place. Covering her body are large cuts and a lot of blood.
When she spots me she yells, "Go get your father!"
I comply immediately rushing back into the house at inhuman speed. As I open the door I see dad bolt out of bed and out of the house.
"What happened!?" He asked in a panicked tone
"They've found us."
After those last words dad sits there for a few seconds, unmoving. He then turns to me and says, "Honey I'm going to need you to go to the hiding spot I showed you, ok?"
"Is mommy going to be ok?" I ask
"Absolutely, your mommy is the strongest in the world!"
"It's alright honey, mommy just needs some time alone, ok?"
"Ok."
I knew something bad was happening but I had confidence that dad could take care of it.
Note: hey guys sorry I posted this so late. When I actually went back and read it I realized it was quite messy and decided to revise it. You may be thinking oh but you had all day why did it take so long well the reason for that is I realized this right before I was going to post it which was at like four o'clock. That and I practically rewrote half of it.
Before I end it for those of you who didn't read the synopsis I recommend it because there is some semi-important stuff in there.
Also before I go please check out my other novel 'trials of Shessefe'.
Anyway stay healthy, be safe, have a good night and thank you for reading.
