"You shouldn't give up you know."
A voice sounded in the cell, awakening me up from my deep in thought slumber. I shivered by the chilly feeling that ran down my spine.
I turn to the voice only to come face to face with a black silk cloaked figure, sitting next to me.
"Pardon?" I confusingly asked not wanting to seem rude.
By now I had noticed I was alone, besides who ever this person that's sitting next to me. Was I asleep that they were moved? Or was it all a dream?
"This is not your fate, so don't give up." The voice said again. I processed the voice in my head giving me the signals that it was an elderly female. Her voice was a bit shaky with a hint of wise and dangerous.
"How can i not. Look at me." I thought of what she said. I was chained with no way to escape. Fate was cruel, maybe she decided to change my reality based on my pathetic state.
"Your future has been set as you will set things in order, my queen." Crazy is the only word that's ringing throughout my body. I don't even know this person. Her head was bowed down not giving me at least a peak of her face. And did she call me queen? Yep definitely crazy.
"Did you just call me queen? My name is Ale-" I wanted to correct her as she was mistaking me for someone else, but she cut in.
"Alexia. Yes, but all in due time."
Creepy. How did she know my name. I don't recall an introduction.
"He is coming. He is ruthless and is out for vengeance. His heart is black after all had challenged him. But you will change that, do not give up on him Alexia. Don't give up for you will be each other's strength and weakness."
"Wait-what...who's he?" I wanted to know more than I was confused. But slowly the cloaked figure started to disappear leaving me in this cold cell alone.
Who in god's name is He? What's this about weakness and being black-hearted. He sounded scary. If that's the case, I don't want to meet him. I have been tormented enough.
I felt a slight movement of my body. Slowly I began to feel something heavy on my chest as if pushing me into the cement wall.
"Wake up... Hey...wake up..." I felt a kick to my shin.
I kept hearing those words confusing me as I was hearing voices. But I was alone in this dark and empty cell. Where were those voices coming from?
Suddenly I felt a sharp sting on my cheek cause my body to jump in surprise.
I gasp as I opened my eyes in shock. My body felt stiff and cold. The warmth I had before was gone. My eyes widened. Where was Valexia?
I turned my head trying to spot her. Only to find her hiding between two male shifters in a far corner in fear. She peaked but was a statue with tears sliding down her cheeks.
I furrowed my eyebrows as to why she seemed so scared. Movement and sound brought me out of my thoughts.
"Get up mutt!" My temples were throbbing again making me squint my eyes in pain while looking up at the figure in front of me.
It was the guard from before. Was Hildred back? But why was Valexia hiding then.
The guard seemed to be frustrated and impatient. His face held disgust.
"I don't have whole day. Get up."
He grabbed the cuff chain making my hand move upwards as he yanked me up from the ground. His grunts were heard as he used his strength.
My legs felt like jelly. My cold feet met with the even more cold cement making me winch as pain shot up my muscles.
I stumbled as the guard kept pulling me. I tried to keep my balance.
"Come on move!"
He started walking towards the cell gates. I dipped my head so the bars could not hit my head as I exited the cell.
This place has less of a foul stench than of a pack prison. There was only one cell I spotted. The other guards looked alarmed at me as I was forcefully pulled the same was Hildred was.
We rounded the corner only to come to another long corridor. The walls were painted white with windows that showed it was dark. The only light illuminating from outside were a few torch lights hanging from trees. It was a good thing we were not underground I guess.
Turning my eyes from the freedom outside, I watched the corridor we walked along. The floors felt cleaner than my barefoot.
Six white doors were placed a few inches apart from each other. Suddenly a door was pulled open and voices were heard. The guard stopped walking.
What looked like a guard walked backwards out of the door crouching. I noticed he was carrying something that was wrapped in white cloth. A body. I could see the outline shape of feet.
I froze as a dread feeling washed over me. After a few seconds the other end of the body was being carried by another guard.
My eyes widened when blonde hair came into my vision. I wanted to ignore the scary feeling inside me. But I also wanted to know the truth.
My assumptions were cleared when the guy from earlier exited. Mateo. He was wiping a sharp blade with a black cloth. The red stains made my heart thump bringing me out from my statue state.
Hildred? No no no... not Hildred.
He killed her. She was innocent and he killed her.
Blood was pooling out onto the white cloth that wrapped her body.
My feelings were numbed. I no longer felt the pain of losing someone but I felt a pull in my heart for she had only been kind to me.
Going from pack to pack I learned not to be attached to another. It would only result in moaning their loss when the hunters came.
Mateo lifted his head. His eyes meeting mine with a wicked smirk. With the cloth and knife in hand, he motioned his hand to the room he came out of.
"The room is all yours Nico. Raftar will be here in a bit after I have a quick word with him. Keep am eye on that one, sneaky one she is I heard."
"No problem Mateo."
Mateo walked behind the guards that carried a lifeless body of Hildred through another door that seemed like the way out of here. Please rest in peace Hildred.
I kept of picture of my surroundings in my head so I remember my way around in case I get to escape. I was on survival mode now and I needed to keep an eye out for a weak spot in their system of operating.
The guard I now know as Nico lead me into the room. I was anxious of what was in there.
To my relief upon entering the room, there was only a table and two chairs. It looked as it would in an interrogation room of a police station with a camera, minus the big mirror.
I expected weapons to be lying around but there was no such thing.
Nico placed my on the chair further from the door and hooked me to the table.
He stood in the corner watching over me. I used this time to analyze him. He looked like a normal human, with muscles here and there. Nothing too impressing. The long black hair as pulled up into a bun on his head. He had no facial hair except for bumpy hair patches. His pale skin matched his black eyes that seemed cold. He stood against the white walls.
What are we in a hospital that everything has to be white? Even the tiles were white. If they think white will help them go to heaven, oh they are in for a surprise.
"Ouch!" The sharp jutting out iron scratched my arm.
"Shut it mutt." He spat out in irritation.
What's his problem. Doesn't he at least feel sympathetic that I got hurt?
"Maybe...just maybe." I thought smirking inwardly.
"Why should I shut it?" His eyes met mine, each second that passed by I knew his blood boiled.
"Because I said so." He said in a 'I am the boss here so listen to me' kind of way.
"Why did you say so?" Oh, I was just getting started. His pale skin exposed a hint of pink on his face. I was getting to me. I cared less that I was playing with fire with him. I knew his type, he couldn't hurt me without permission from his boss so I could push all I want.
"Because i don't want to hear your voice mutt." Did he just growl that out? And he called me mutt.
"Why don't you want to hear my voice mutt?" This time I really smirked when I called him mutt.
"Because you are disgusting." Yeah I know, I hadn't had a shower in days, thanks to you stupid hunters.
"Why am I disgu-" before I could finish he snapped at me. Goddess, I am frustrated of people cutting me off in mid sentence.
"Shut it! I'm not playing this game with you." He banged both his fists onto the metal table.
"What game?" I asked innocently tilting my head.
"Its just a mind trick Nico, don't pay mind to her."
