Chapter 309 - It Was Unfortunate, Though...

After hearing this, Vil was shocked, "So there's more than just those individuals."

"That's right." Crystal responded, "Don't you think it is unusual for us to be able to traverse this far past the perimeter of the dorm territory?"

"Is you're talking about that murderous looking lunatic..." Vil hesitated before it dawned on him as he looked around, "The miasma around here!"

"That's right. The miasma is created by the individual as a way to divert trespassers back to the dorm without them realizing it. However, coming in this deep is dangerous as the miasma here can kill even ten elephants. While on the outside, the miasma cannot harm an individual no matter the type of physique they have. The first time master came through her, she was unfazed by the poisonous miasma."

"What?!" Vil turned to the butterfly with a shocked expression, "However, she was seriously poisoned back in the dorm!"

"That's because that poison was created by blot." Crystal replied, "You wouldn't know about this since your relationship with her has only just returned to being friends again after so long, but master has a special physique since birth. Rather, according to others, she has so much heaven defying traits from birth that it has created a conflict within her body making her unable to utilize magic or cultivate at a young age. Like water and oil, those traits clashed against one another. It was not until she was six or seven that she was able to start her path as a thaumaturge or magician. Before then, she had gone through great lengths to obtain the ingredients for medicine used to help weaken the conflict enough that she could overcome the hurdle and began her practice. According to her adoptive parents, she did this all by herself without even a doctor or them to aid her. She was her own doctor."

"That's crazy!" Vil said with a shocked expression, "Something like that usually only appears from a novel!"

"Master was born in a world where only the strongest can thrive. With that, it had steeled her mind from a young age. She was born with great talents, but those talents was what delayed her in her practice from a young age. Something like this is rare, but not something that is impossible. Those who live in such a world are those who have great luck and talents, like her. So, you can say that, in her world, she's like the others you'd find on their streets just a little stronger."

That would explain her mature behavior at such a young age! Vil frowned, "You mentioned that this poison was special enough to affect her?"

"That's right. Master was born was a body capable of neutralizing poisons that enter the body. We call such physique the Panacea body and it's very rare condition, but hers is different and far more powerful. No matter how deadly the poison is, she is able to neutralize it once it enters her body. Yet, for every good thing, there is a take. Due to this condition, she is unable to neutralize poison that can create chills in the bodies or take on blot. Or rather, she could control blot if her body was strong enough and she has the training for it."

Control blot?!

"The explanation behind blot is too difficult to explain at the moment, and we need to obtain a suppression for her poison."

"Does these attacks happen often?"

"From what I've witnessed, it's hard to tell. Usually, master is careful and takes pills regularly. However, she has to take pills with stronger effects as of late."

Vil frowned, "How long has she been poisoned?"

"I can't say." Crystal replied bluntly, "Normally, she would go to make some, but she became so busy this past few weeks that she was unable to produce more."

These past few weeks were when they were busy recovering from the attack caused by S.T.Y.X. Thinking this, he fell silent.

"We're here."

Vil looked up as he brushed away the curtain of purple leaves and walked into a large clearing. Behind the curtains of purple leaves, a large white lump began to shake softly as a voice stated, "Are you aware of what you have done?"

Vil muttered in deep thoughts, "What we have done?"

"Normally, students and regular staffs are not allowed to know about the presence of those who guards each dorms. Knowing about it is taboo and those who know will have their memories wiped." Crystal explained, "However, this is an emergency. Guardian of this pocket dimension, our master's poison has taken a turn for the worse and is unable to recreate a suppressing pill with all that is currently available to her. Moreover, the assassin has created demonic poison and it has conflicted with my master's poison. She lacks the mana to continue her mission. Having solved your student's condition, we thought it would be best to come to retrieve a favor from you in exchange."

"Hmph! That girl now seeks my help?" The voice huffed in disdain, "Move."

With just one word, the trees around them began to pull back the curtains. Seeing this, Vil was curious. Did it really needed to be so extravagant? However, he was not against such a display of extravagance. Moreover, this individual didn't seem to be a human.

Just as he thought, a large white peacock appeared from behind the trees as it stared at them with glaring red eyes. Under the moon light, it was like a magical white phoenix had it taken flight! It was a breathtaking sight! Was this the one who guards their dorm?!

"Why... This is the current generation's dorm leader, is it not? Ah, I remember now. Your case was the one I was working on for a while." The bird hummed curiously, "I had thought it was unusual for her to be troubled from creating pills, but to think it would be the dorm leader..."

Hearing this, Vil grew tense. Had this bird been keeping track of all the students coming and going through the dorm?

"Wang Jia had mentioned to me of such a student becoming the new dorm leader." The peacock hummed curiously, "As he said, you are a stubborn one. Even going as far as taking what could've been a twenty minute run into an hour walk..."

Wasn't this an insult? Did Vil have to please him or something?

"It's been a long time since I last seen such a dorm leader with such drive for beauty." The peacock hummed proudly before lamenting bitterly, "However, for one to see me in this state..."

"In this state?" Vil raised a brow in confusion.

"During the stalemate against the intruder, a powerful blot poison got the guardian." Crystal explained as the butterfly landed on his shoulder and she continued quietly, "Although he can easily neutralize the poison with his own skills and resources, his decayed feathers will need time to recover. This master greatly prizes his own appearance as well and puts in time and effort to maintain his appearance and poison too. Hence why he was willing to give my master the permission to put an end to the culprit."

"Humph!" The white peacock raised his head as he continued in a cocky manner, "I can hear you loud and clear, you know! Like master, like familiar. None of you know how to keep your flapping mouth shut! Perhaps I should shut them for you?"

It was then that Vil and the butterfly could feel a heavy weight upon them as the Phoenix glared at them angrily!

Just what was this heavy aura of mana around them?! Was it coming from him?

"Leader, please, calm yourself. The butterfly is one matter, however the child is another."

"... humph!" The peacock turned his head irritated by the words of the new voice.

The echoing voice around them surprised Vil as the following aura also slowly lifted from their shoulders.

It was then that Vil realized that beads of sweat was dripping from his face as he slowly lifted his head.

This wasn't coincidental. That heavy weight really did come from this bird!

So powerful!

"Consider yourselves lucky that Wang Jia spoke up for you or you can forget about the antidote to help her!" The peacock huffed in disdain before turning his back and returned to the curtain of leaves of branches, "Wait here."

"My apologies for the late introductions." The voice echoed in their head, "I am Wang Jia. The tree nymph who lives in this dorm."

"Wang Jia is a child the guardian of this dorm created from the plant life he cultivated and maintained over the years." Crystal explained, "He was just a toddler Illusion tree nymph when he arrived here with Wang Ru, but, since then, he grew big enough to create the entire forest surrounding the dorm. He is the guardian's eyes and ears of this dorm. All who enters and leaves are seen and heard by him. A role we had also taken on prior to our contract."

"My master has told me about you, Crystal. You used to work under the Niersi Lily guardian of Savanaclaw. It's a first for me to meet a fellow colleague. Greetings."

"Hello. Please call me Crystal. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person, Wang Jia." Crystal replied before explaining to the dorm leader, "The individuals with the authority equal to the founding headmaster... are guardians of the dorms. They are the actual defense of the dorms as a disaster shelter. That is the other functions of these mirrors. The ones who are in control of this space is titled guardians of the dorms. Their words are as good as the founders in the system, but it's the guardian of Diasomnia who has the final say. Only those who know the secrets know of their presence."

"Your new master was certainly quick witted." The tree added curiously, "She was strong enough to notice our presence the moment she entered each dorms. All of our students are regular prodigy magicians, so they cannot sense our aura as clearly as she can. The moment she arrived, she immediately sought out our guardian. It was unfortunate, though..."

"Did something happen?" Vil raised a brow curiously.

Crystal hesitated, "Well..."
