"Silver was orphaned and adopted since he was an infant. He wouldn't remember anything about his past." Lady Zigvolt sighed.
"Yes..." Lotus nodded, "However, that doesn't mean that no one would know of his past or there wouldn't be any traces left. Whether he really wants to go look into it all depends on his efforts and his luck."
Her teacher shook her head, "It's very likely that he won't return then."
Lotus shook her head in agreement, "I suspect, if he was to return, it would be if he was persuaded to by Mister Vanrouge or ordered by the prince. Otherwise, he wouldn't leave his duty."
"When the time comes, we can inform them about this." Lady Zigvolt responded, "For now, just let them enjoy their school life."
"So you say..." Lotus wore a smirk as she continued mischievously, "You're going to pretend not to know and let master and I tell them, aren't you?"
"Hmph. I have the duties of an assistant and a fellow fae of Briar Valley. If something were to happen to the royal family and my family, I definitely won't let it go." Lady Zigvolt huffed in dismay.
Obviously, her words were pretty misleading. If Lotus hadn't conversed with her and spent more time compared to other outsiders, she would've also assumed that the lady has a prideful personality as well. But, the actual fact was that their loyalty far outweighs their pride.
"All right, that's enough jokes." Her teacher said firmly, "I'm curious about these spiritual beasts that you've contracted with."
"I was thinking it was about time to let you know of them." Lotus nodded firmly, "Among all of them, the only one that I'm worried of the most is the colony of butterflies."
"Colony of butterflies?"
"The colony of butterflies is capable of poison and I have created the antidote for it. The capabilities of their lineage is seen as their strength and their strength is their pride. However, many have as many personalities and characteristics as the people living in this world. The only rule they follow is the survival of the fittest in general and they'll follow the rules set by the strongest. Their queen in my contract spirit, so the others will have to listen to me as well. However, despite their strong abilities, they are still fragile. When they fall, the poison will disperse into the air and get on those that come into contact with them during their death. So, I've sent the antidotes to you and Maisey right after I finished creating them. The source of their poison is their wings and the inside of their bodies. The antidote will detoxify the poison and regain their injuries from the poison. After being poisoned, the victim will have a few hours before blood loss claims their life. This is why I chose to keep them inside and in certain corners. They're strong enough to keep the poison at bay, but it's a different situation when they are attacked first. If it was a colony, the result would be terrifying."
Her teacher hummed solemnly in deep thoughts, "And you had to contract them to see one of the guardians..."
"I was lucky at that time." Lotus sighed, "If it was long after their queen evolved, I would've been unable to suppress her."
"Was it that difficult?"
"I was at the right place at the right time." Lotus nodded, "Once their queen evolves, they are weak and needs the warmth of the sun to recover. After that, she spreads her wings and is filled with power. I was there just before she finished evolving and contracted with her during her recovery phase. I'm not afraid of her poison, but her strength is considered another thing. She'll remain by my side and her people can traverse between me and the fairy kingdom. Right now, due to the situation, I require their assisstance and had them hide out in every corner of the school."
"That's luck..." She sighed, "Then, what of the young Kirin?"
"He's still young and requires time to grow strong. He also requires to be in a place full of mana to recover and both the Fairy kingdom and Briar valley won't be enough together." Lotus responded with a frown, "Those here are special and Little Jun isn't an exception. Kirins are powerful and the mare gave birth to an even more powerful one. Now that he's with me, he can grow stronger in my space, but this isn't enough. He needs to return to that world."
"That strong?"
"Stronger than even me at maturity." She responded firmly, "Currently, he's very weak, but strong enough to fight off the blots. Like me, he can't produce blot."
"All that's left is the cat... Are you sure it's a cat? Sebek mentioned that it was a weasel."
Lotus chuckled dryily, "He's already been given a few names. Weasel, cat, racoon, and I don't know how he got called a dog."
"Sounds like you are certainly having fun there." Lady Zigvolt frowned, "Then, I'll be relaying this to father. Are you sure that you want to invite the prince? Just for that reason?"
Lotus nodded, "I... Want to be sure. If it's true, then I can rest a little easier... If not, then I'll just forget this misunderstanding ever happened. In a way, this would help my parents take their first steps. The faes and the fairies don't have a steady relationship, more so for the fairies. They're not bad, just too wary for the better or worse. I can't control the mouths of others, but I can promise that he would not be harmed or, rather, that they won't cause trouble against the prince."
Lotus sighed, "The fairies aren't weak either. However, the prince is also a dragon fae... Like his ancestor, he is very powerful, even among the faes. What happened this week is enough to prove this."
"What do you think of this puppy called Yuu?" She hummed curiously.
"Yuu, huh?" Lotus nodded quietly, "He's also open-minded and, from the looks of it, raised in a world similar to that of himself. A world where humans are the only intelligent beings but, though he is surprised by the differences of others, he does not stress the differences and accepts it, but does take it into concern when it poses a problem to them. I suppose you can say that he cares of those around him even if they are bad or mean to him."
Lotus recounted the meeting between Yuu and Malleus in greater detail and smirked mischeviously, "Upperclassman Malleus was so intrigued by this that he decided to make it fun and see what sort of nickname Yuu could come up with without knowing his identity. It would seem that the prince's presence isn't enough to overwhelm him, which made it fun for him. If you had been there to see it, it would look very much like two students conversing and joking without any other concerns. Malleus practically lit up and wouldn't stop laughing when Yuu gave him a casual nickname from his appearance and personality. In fact, I've never seen him laugh this hard before in school..."
"Really?!" Her eyes widen upon disbelief.
Lotus nodded, "That's why I'm worried that he might not be as thrilled as he is curious about the fairy gala..."
"It is clear that he is really enjoying his time in the school. However, he is a prince..." Her teacher nodded, "And these assassins."
"The assassins would never reach them even from a yard away." Lotus stated casually.
"You're certain of this?" Lady Zigvolt raised a brow.
Lotus nodded again with a slight pause before continuing, "The guardian of Diasomnia... is stirring... When I left the dorm, I felt a heavy presence around me, but there was nothing when I returned with Ren."
"Then, they're aware..."
"Yes." Lotus mumbled, "And, they're not very thrilled as of late. Possibly because of those guys doing whatever they want in this one's territory. I believe that this is the reason why there has been no activity against the dorm yet..."
"Because they're being suppressed." She nodded, "However, it won't be long before they overthrow them."
"That won't be the case." Lotus responded firmly.
"How so?"
"At the moment, this guardian's strength could be felt just by passing through the entrance. It was already on par with Little Jun's abilities by then. But, the closer I got to the dorm, the heavier it became. Their abilities feels limitless right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he is much stronger than all of us combined. For the founders to have found someone this strong to vow protection... It can only be willingly. They held some luck... I wonder if master has heard of such news before the founding of the school? This school has so many guardians. It couldn't have been quiet a century ago."
"I'll look into this matter. I still have good connections with friends and other nobles."
Lotus paused hesitantly before nodding her head, "Thank you, Lady Zigvolt!"
Despite her response, Lotus already had a bad feeling about this. If there was anything similar between the mother and son pair, it was their pride, loyalty, and that they don't like to sit down all day if they had the option to do so. Information like this could easily be found in a library, but Lady Zigvolt was not a quiet, and graceful young lady since young. Even the master held her magic abilities with great pride and joy behind his harsh criticisms. However, when it came to her simply sitting down for tea and study...
She was vaguely told that they did much to keep her in place, such as making her sit when she wants to stand and read instead during her toddler age. Either way, her master told her many tales of where his daughter was young with a look of dismay but a bright glow. Such phrases and that look, can it still be called disappointment?
"That reminds me... I heard that you are friends of the Shroud's family's eldest child?"
Lotus raised a brow and looked to her in surprise, "'Eldest'?"
