Facing the darkness, Lotus heaved a heavy sigh and muttered, "Who knew that this guy ended up inhaling so much of that poison powder?"
"I thought we cleaned out enough from all of their rooms and those halls." Little Jun muttered in confusion, "How did he manage to take in more?"
Lotus grumbled, "It's because he was up and around when she was sprinkling the powder."
Over the past few weeks, Vil had been running in and out of Pomefiore's dorm and Ramshackle dorm. At first, she didn't notice this anomally for a while, but, one day, she decided to allow Little Jun to stay outside for a short while when he immediately picked up the stench of the powder right away. The Power sealing powder was something that was used on Cultivators to seal their ability to absorb spiritual energy in the air. It was consider a poison to their society as cultivating was what can keep them alive. However, it was different for Magicians. Magicians require mana in their surroundings and their body to manifest into a spell. Naturally, this wouldn't be a huge problem if they just use the energy around their in place of the one within their bodies. However, with the interference of this powder, it also prevented blot from being expelled from the body through rest or replenish of energy and kept the blot within. At first, she had thought that the goal was only Vil and the guests, such as themselves. So, she didn't thought much of it and created a trap for her to fall into. However, who knew that this woman was so foolish that she decided to rush things at the very end and poison everyone on the night before the festival then leave the mirror that afternoon!
Lotus only need to see her handiwork once to understand what she was planning to do and it made her furious!
"When we return, it's time to step things up..." Lotus sighed in disappointment, "And here I wanted to rest while I can... Can this really be called rehabilitation and recovery? Hmph! I will definitely have to talk with Mister Mirror after this! Everything else is fine, but what's this about a double poisoning that even Pomefiore students can't solve?! I thought that the dorm was better than this when I enrolled into this school... Maybe it has to do with the dorm leader..."
"Big Sister... The path..." Little Jun whinned impatiently.
"All right, all right. Hold your horses." Lotus sighed before she sent out her spiritual senses.
It was only a few seconds later that her eyes widen in bewilderment as she had been interrupted during the process, "This-!"
She frowned and searched the darkness again before she nodded with a frown, "I'll absorb a portion of this darkness."
"What?!"
Little Jun looked to her in disbelief as he shook his head ferverently, "But, you can't, master! It's too dangerous to take in demonic energy!"
"I know that." Lotus frowned, "However, it is clear that I can."
In their world, only those in the realm of darkness can truly cultivate dark spiritual roots. They are also the only one capable of being born with the root in them. Aside from them, it would be too dangerous for those who are not from that realm to cultivate this root and energy. The element of darkness can poison a cultivate and lead them to deviate from the path of immortality. As a human herself, it is dangerous to come in contact with this energy. However, it is clear that, not only can she do so, she is also born with the dark spiritual root.
"How can that be?" Little Jun raised a brow, "I know Big sis is born with the dark spiritual root, but how can Big Sis even be capable of cultivating the energy as well? I remember reading that those with this root are those from the realm of darkness. There are no humans in that realm, only demonic beasts, demons, ghosts and souls! If master absorbs the energy, you would either become a demonic cultivator, evil cultivator, or you'll die! In most cases, human cultivators will die, master!"
Lotus shook her head, "That's normally correct. However, I remember a time twenty million years ago. The world had only finished it's evolution and humans roam the world. In this time, there was no god's realm, heavens, middle realm, or realm of darkness. There was only one chaotic world where every individuals thrived together in harmony. There was no racial division or hatred towards the other races. Many can cultivate any energy that was available to them as the blood of humans, fairies, beasts, demons, and gods are no different to one's identity aside from bestowing them their powers... There was a body type that came about from a unison of these races and that physique was called... Celestial Demon."
"Celestial Demon?" Little Jun raised a brow in bewilderment, "You mean it's a union between a god and a demon?! But, how can that be?"
Lotus shook her head, "Oh, it exists. However, I doubt that this body's biological parents have the blood of a god running through them. Humans are naturally capable of inheriting a light element, but only few are capable of being born with the root to cultivate it. Rather than a god and a demon. I bet, I am a child between a human and someone from a race in the realm of darkness."
"However, Big sis has always had this root for so long..." Little Jun frowned hesitantly, "Have you already assumed your bloodline?"
"Of course." Lotus sighed in exasperation, "I have nothing against the realm of darkness. However, the problem lies with being born with this physique. It'll be harder for me to cultivate without worrying rather or not I'll explode at any point in time. After I told my family this, they only feared that I will lose my life by continuing to practice this art... Thinking back... I'm glad I told them this and had they place their trust in me."
Saying this, a soft smile reappeared on her face as the shawl behind her floated around her, "It was a little troublesome after they started freaking out over my situation, but... perhaps, the one worried the entire time had always just been me..."
Thinking this, Lotus took in a deep sigh before she took a step forward and slipped out a long spiralling silver metal vine decorated with flowers and a bright red magic stone shapped into a tear drop on back of her palm. After clasping the metal gear around her wrist and arm, she sneered and responded firmly as she waved a hand in the direction before them, "I won't be able to absorb all of these demonic energy at once, so I will have to create a path for you to run on and absorb whatever tries attack us... Go!"
Surrounded by the darkness, two straight lines of gold flames erupted in mid air and charged ahead at full speed with a static of powerful electricity that followed after it. It took only three seconds for a road of flames and lightning to form this light path. Without waiting for another second, Little Jun immediately charged across the path without stopping as he carried the dorm leader across. The encrouching darkness tried to attack the road from all directions. However, with a flick of her wrist they were all burned away by the fire and electricity.
Lotus- No, Peony stood in the darkness and watched as the two vanished in the distance before the path slowly began to disappear and be swallowed up by the darkness around her. However, she knew that Little Jun was fast and had, no doubt, taken him out of this sleeping realm. Seeing that they were gone, the darkness then turned their attention to her. However, Peony wasn't perturbed by this and giggled with a sneer played across her lips as she rested her right elbow on her free left hand. She touched her chin with a finger and raised a brow, "Oh? Now, you want to play with me?"
As the darkness crept forward, she laughed, "All right, then! Let's play for a bit! It's been a long time since I last stretched out this much!"
The darkness immediately reached out to grab her! However, with a flick of her red shawl, the darkness was snapped away and set on flame upon touching the fabric. As if shocked, the darkness reeled back in pain waiting for the flames to dissipate, but she didn't give them a chance as she then slid into a sitting position on the ground.
A chance!
The darkness quickly reached out to grab a hold of her legs hoping to immobilize her. However, she had already begun moving slowly as she rose to her feet gracefully with a chime of the bell on her feet. Following that chime, the darkness froze in pain as she continued to take a step forward with an outstretched arm wrapped with the long red shawl. She smiled softly at the sight of the darkness shivering both with fear and anticipation as she struck an elegant pose.
Now... Let's dance, shall we?
