Suddenly, there was a knock on the door as Lotus took a peek inside to find that the place was very quiet as per usual. In the library, the coast was clear and Lotus could see that the library was completely empty. Surprised, she decided to look around wondering what she may be able to find in the hidden library. As she entered the small corridor of books, Lotus saw the book case that she had been looking for... accompanied by a familiar face.
"Huh?" She whispered to herself curiously in surprise.
It was Malleus?
The guy was busy looking over some books in the library? But, she never saw him in the library before unless there was some business.
She thought for a bit before shaking her head. They were all students in this school. Who said that he couldn't come to the library to read books. However, seeing that he was busy, she may as well just walk the other way...
Turning around, she recalled that either his guards or Lilia would also be around the guy. So, it was unusual that either of the three aren't around. Well, as curious as she is, she has no energy or motivation in digging her nose into his business this time, thanks to that irritating person from the other day.
With this in mind, she turned around and decided to leave. Chili continued sitting on her shoulder as she left and it was only when he chirped that she recalled Chili's existence.
"Shh!" Lotus whispered quietly in a hurry and put the bird into her pocket, "Stick your head out if you want, but stay quiet. If the librarian sees you, we might get in trouble."
Chili, being a smart bird, quickly poked his head out as she swiftly made her way out of the library. The moment they were outside, Chili chirped curiously to her to which she responded, "Even if I wanted to get stuff done, it would rouse suspicion if someone sees me in that area. The dorm leader of Diasomnia probably doesn't know about that place, so it's fine for him. But, people would definitely start suspecting me if he brought up the fact that he met me in that area."
After another chirp, Lotus continued, "If there ever does come a time where something happens, some one would ask him about it, right? He probably wouldn't snitch with his character. But, that doesn't mean that he won't put two together and suspect me. I don't have any problems with people knowing about where I went, but it would be a problem if they have this information with them and I still haven't known the heir that well to build that trust."
The bird chirped again to which Lotus nodded, "Fine. However, not regarding that library... I can trust him with everything else... No, wait a second..."
She glanced back at the bird curiously before picking him out of her pocket and raised a brow, "I've been wondering this, but you seemed rather plump as of late..."
A thought came to her before she wore a small smirk on her face, "Could it be... That you've been taking extra food from someone lately? Maybe... A silver haired human in the Diasomnia dorm? Hm?"
Suddenly, the bird in her hand chirped loudly attracting the other birds in the vicinity who immediately flocked over to them. Thankfully, there were only in the courtyard when this happened or else, it would be strange for there to be so many birds in the hallways.
Lotus could tell that this was definitely something Chili had done only by accident. He had done this before back at home. So, it wasn't a surprise for him to do it again here. This also includes the last time he accidentally let loose a little when he was held in her hand that one time. Obviously, as these were his usual instinct as a bird, she didn't mind it, so she simply used her ability.
Seeing that no one was there, the birds were confused by the cry and decided to linger around for a bit longer. However, Lotus had already left the area as she disliked mass attention the most. Just the eyes of so many strangers on you...
Can be the most tiring thing of all...
.....
Once by the stables, Chili began to continue chirping frantically but for another obvious reason. This time, he felt guilty once more. Yet, his cries could easily be mistakened for cries of help. However, she had already placed a barrier so nobody could hear him anyway. She connected her feelings with Chili using her spirit power once more which calmed the child down. Doing this was always the easiest way to communicate with this child. As her soul's power was one from nature, it was only simple for her to utilize it to communicate with others. However, there was a limit to that and she had to find ways to utilize her abilities to its fullest. Occassionally, she would use this to communicate her intention to Chili. Animals usually have a very straight-forward mindset. What they like and what they don't like. Should they be wary or not. To do this because it's how you're suppose to do it. To be curious about it or to be wary of it. They are actually very simple by the heart and also very smart. Hence feelings of guilt aren't very common with the exception of most pets. Chili had always been with her since she found him in the forest outside of home. At first, she treated him then let him go. Who knew this dolt would fly into a tree trunk next and be picked up by her mother this time to be treated again?!
To fix the problem of guilt he would feel, Lotus would use her spirit energy to convey her feelings to him. It was the best form of communication to creatures that could not understand complicated words.
Feeling her energy in him, Chili chirped more cheerfully this time. Lotus then continued with a smirk on her face, "Now, I know you may be influenced because that silver hair guy's aura is liked by you, but I still have some reservations."
The silly bird seemed rather disappointed this time as he leaked out a tiny chirp.
"I'll keep your thoughts to mind and consider it a little bit more from now on." Lotus continued.
Hearing each familiar words and her spirit power shared from her, Chili understood her words clearly and chirped before hopping onto her shoulder. Seeing this, Lotus decided to drop by at the nurse's office for a bit.
The moment she stepped into the halls, she was surprised to find that there was two figures standing before the nurse's office!
"Ah, you're here!"
She looked at Kalim running up to her with a confused look, "So, you finally brought Jamil-senpai over to the nurse's office..."
Jamil looked up with a passive look on his face, but it was clear that there was a glint of reluctance in his eyes and Lotus would not treat those who are unwilling to be treated. However, coming to this school, she had to make so many exceptions whereas she couldn't back in her previous life. So, she said with a smile, "Well, please come in. I've been waiting for Jamil-senpai for a while now."
Seeing her move so easily, it wasn't unbelievable to say if the office actually belonged to her either. She let them in without any nervousness as if they were really her patient. Even when she sat them down and asked him questions, she didn't show any signs of nervousness...
Hearing her detailed questions and seeing her actions, he knew that she wasn't just acting professional in these fields, but she was a professional in medicine!
Finally, Lotus sighed as she finished writing down her report, "Since I'm a student myself, I can't prescribe you anything without the nurse's permission. Instead, just make sure to properly relax this time and eat well. Also, you should especially refrain from using anymore magic for the rest of winter break. Limit yourself would be the best choice. Seeing that you won't be using your unique magic for a while, it would seem to be a good thing."
"Huh? How do you know I won't be using it for a while?" Jamil looked to her in confusion.
Lotus raised a brow, "Jamil-senpai is very observant of his surroundings, even when it's not work. So, I thought it would be because you were raised in such an environment where you have to be very observant, but, the way you also communicate with others with direct eye contact without any set backs means that you've done this multiple times. It's not a surprise to me if your unique magic has to do with eye contact at this point."
"Woah!" Kalim looked to her in awe, "So, you can deduce Jamil's unique magic just like that?!"
Lotus looked at the guy with a dry smile, "And, now we have someone who confirmed it..."
She and Jamil sighed with the latter being surprised that she did so as well before she continued, "Hence, I told you to have some mint or peppermint..."
