"So, you think that they flew the dorm leader's magic carpet and flew out of the dorms then crashed into Octavinelle's?" Raaji muttered in disbelief and sighed in exasperation, "Still, I'm surprised they didn't get kicked out..."
"They probably would've if Grim let it slip that Jamil is up to something through Kalim's unusual behaviour." Lotus noted carefully.
"Could he really have hypnotized the dorm leader to this extent of overblot before, though? Isn't it a little too much?" Raaji's eyes widen in bewilderment.
"I'm surprised you know about that tactic of his." A-Cong muttered as he seemingly pierced through her with a glare of suspicion.
"How could I not?" Lotus shrugged as she responded bluntly, "Do you think there will be moments when Kalim's decision isn't vital to Jamil? There are no poison that can influence Kalim's decisions and none could poison him with the food that Jamil makes for him. After all, even the food he eats are seasoned with combinations of spices that can help negate the effects of most poisons."
"That's right..." Hei Hui said with a look of suprise, "Garlic, cinnamon, oregano, cloves and sage are the most elementary spices known to help negate the effects of poisons, but they aren't the only one. Only someone capable of ciphering through information and with great memory, such as Jamil Viper, is capable doing this."
With how well he knew of his studies, it won't be a surprise if he knew more than he has revealed so far. However, it is rare for Jamil to be this vocal with his outrage over the situation.
"But with just a thing such as dorm placement, how could the vice-dorm leader overblot? Didn't the warning say that overblot occurs from overuse of magic and build up of negative emotions?" Raaji noted in confusion.
"Well, aside from Kalim bugging Jamil, there's also the fact that the dorm didn't do well or worse in the recent exam and the magift tournament." Lotus brought up carefully, "For Kalim, he either doesn't put too much attention to this matter or he uses parties to release that pent up emotions of his. Not only that, he keeps his emotions in check really well. There's hardly a chance for him to overblot as easily as Jamil."
She then turned to the two and said with a frown, "If the Octavinelle dorm leaders are here as well, then it would be easier to snap some sense back in Jamil."
"However, they're so far away from the dorm, how are they going to go back?"
"If my sources are correct, there should be a unique magic that Kalim can utilize, right?" Lotus glanced over the three briefly, "Unique magi: 'Oasis Maker'. A magic capable of revitalizing water sources and magically creating water out of thin air. One of Kalim's prized traits. The ability to create water. It looks like they just so happened to have landed on a dried up river that used to run through there. If that's true, then"
"H-Huh? Well, you're not wrong." Raaji looked to her in bewilderment. Even if she wasn't wrong, just where could she have found this information from?
However, it was easy for Lotus who had visited the Land of Hot Sands. As long as you carefully peer with your ears rather than your eyes, then you can better understand many things in the society. From rumors to facts. They were all information for her to utilize. They were also her first weapons back when she first came into being in her last life. If you want to survive, rumors are the most important thing in life. Not the weapons or the power. As long as you sort out your sources and your intelligence carefully, you can also survive without the need for cultivation. However, that type of work also has its own share of risks. By trimming away the lies and deceit with fact, you can find the truth amongst the filth it is cover with. However, what's riskier is rather the truth of the matter isn't how ugly or pretty it is, but if it's a flower the jaws of death in the end.
"So, what are you going to do?" Lotus turned to them with a frown, "Knowing that those two will be able to complete the task on hand, you still have to watch over them now."
"And that demon cat?" A-Cong growled at her with a look of unwillingness.
"Nothing." Lotus responded unflinchingly as Raaji shuddered nervously, "Grim still has his own path to walk through... Since he's considered partly student in this school, you know the rules."
Hearing this, Hei Hui nodded in agreement. It didn't matter if they were unwilling to or willing to. That demonic cat is a student of the school, as evident by the magic stone around his neck. What matters the most is that the rules does not allow them to hurt him as he bears the title student of Night Raven College. There was also the fact that the guardians can not leave the school grounds nor the dorms, so pursuing the cat is also impossible unless their vows under the heavens were to vanish and no longer bound them to their duties.
Hearing this from the student, Hei Hui was rather intrigued and turned to her curiously, "The matter of the dorms can now be left to us, but how do you know that they will be able to save our students?"
Lotus huffed, "It's not about whether they can or not, but rather if they want to. If they don't want to, they can just easily leave the dorm as well, but, if they wanted to, they can just go and save him if they so wishes for it."
"You sound confident in them. Can they really do this?" A-Cong huffed in dismay.
"They obviously can." Lotus responded bluntly, "I can already see it, after all."
Hei Hui raised a brow in shock when she heard this, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she turned to the pool and watched as Kalim sobbing in sadness by the betrayal of his childhood friend. She knew the guy would believe in him so easily. After all, there was no one he trusted more than Jamil to begin with, especially if they were childhood friends.
"Jamil... I believed him..."
She could hear Kalim's voice inside her head as she watched from the distance.
"Huh... Baby Otter, are you crying? Your tears're gonna freeze." Floyd's voice came through the intermission as she watched the guy fold his arms unmoved by this.
"Huh? I can hear the dorm leader's voice and that Octavinelle guy's too..." Raaji looked to her in bewilderment only to calm down when he saw her nod.
"It's all my fault." Kalim brushed away the tears with the back of his palm as he exp lained, "I drove him into a corner without even realizing. Jamil really isn't the kind of guy to do those things! He's always helping me and is a super reliable and good guy..."
Hearing this from the connection, Lotus huffed a small sigh, "Isn't that what backed him into a corner?"
Raaji thought back to her words and realized that the current outcome truly aligned with her thinking!
Who would have thought that something like this would happen?!
However, this didn't sit wrongfully in his heart when he thought about this now. Or rather, it seemed more logically than anything he's seen. Kalim trusted Jamil completely without hesitation and often praised his intelligence and capabilities, but, for someone like him, Jamil may have thought it differently due to the difference of intelligence and capabilities between the two. Before the Jamil who was both the vice-dorm leader and the servant of the dorm leader's family, just what was it that he thought about the dorm leader. Everytime he spoke, it had also had something to do with the dorm leader's family or his connection to that family, but he never did mention "I" or "My" so often. It was a relationship of servant and master and dorm leader and vice-dorm leader. However, Kalim had always saw him as this childhood friend he glued himself to since he was young. Thinking about it now and the dorm's current situation, how could it be a surprise. The only laughable thing about all of this is that, despite the betrayal of his childhood friend, Kalim decides to put the blame on himself and not the guy who threw him out of the dorm.
"Good guys don't launch their friends to places like this." Yuu spoke up with a frown as he folded his arms over his chest.
"Eh?" Kalim looked up in surprise with tears still at the corner of his eyes.
Hearing his logical voice, Hei Hui peered curiously at the dark haired student. This must be the supervisor this child has spoke about to her earlier. The child was still in his school uniform. He didn't have a proper ribbon around his arm like those of her students or the other dorm's. He was plain looking, but his arms didn't seem as weak. Yet, even if the soul was weak, the blood was strong. She thought for a bit before asking curiously upon seeing the grey cat next to him, "A Beast tamer?"
