Day after day, morning by morning, I always order my favorite espresso in the Café Noir.
I always see her work in a cheerful manner. She always smiles to her customers and gracefully bowing down to thank them, after. She never cease to amuse me. As in, where did she get all those energy?
Whenever I see her smile along with my espresso everyday, my day felt complete. Because it's like there is no problem and nothing to stress about.
Her positive energy gives customers a smile and happiness until one day, she didn't go to work. It was a different barista this time and everything seems normal yet dull.
Maybe she was sick? Maybe she has something else to do? I never see her that day including the afternoon. So, I asked her father, "Why is she not around today?"
"You still stalk her?" He smirked.
"It's not like that. I mean, I always come here every morning, but this time, she wasn't around."
He sighed, "Sorry to break it to you, but I think she has a date as of now..."
My eyes opened widely in surprise. I sighed at him, "So much for your permission..."
"Hey, I didn't know someone is dating her. Ok?"
I shrugged, "Well... I guess you don't know everything about your daughter."
He suddenly looked down, "Yeah, and that's what worries me..."
He paused for a moment, then he looked at me and asks, "Say... You mentioned you are some sort of secret agent, right?"
"Someone who works for the government?" He added.
I nodded, "I would be glad if you keep that a secret and not tell it to anybody. Why do you ask?"
"Since you have been stalking her lately, and at the same time, you have that kind of job. Is it ok to ask you for a favor?"
I then looked at him with intent, "What kind of favor?"
He leaned closer to me, "Find out who this guy is... I can't believe he came to my daughter first, without me knowing."
His hands clenched tightly as if he wants to punch someone. I can feel an angry aura around him.
"You have my permission to date her in exchange." He added it with a smile.
I gulped. I began to think by myself, 'This is my chance... I finally have his full consent, but what worries me is how will I get to talk to her? Even if I have his full consent, making her how to talk to me still depends on me.'
I then nodded at him, "Agreed, but only if you will introduce me to her."
"Of course! Oh and one more thing..."
"What?"
"If ever that guy made my daughter cry or, you know, breaks her heart? Will you please punch him for me?"
I rolled my eyes down and sighed, "Yeah, ok. Noted."
The next morning after that conversation, she's finally back.
Same old same habit, but this time, I have the right to stalk her. Well I mean, her father approved it...
It was just normal just like all the other days, when suddenly, one guy enters the café with a bouquet of roses in his hand.
I almost spit my drink in surprise, 'Is this the guy?'
Everyone was looking at him. As in, who brings a bouquet of flowers early in the morning?
As he steps forward towards the counter. He then gave the flower to her.
The girls around gossips with each other, "How sweet..." "She's so lucky..." "I think the guy is luckier..." Their gossips can be heard...
I can't believe that her father wasn't around to witness all these.
I just sighed. Sitting uncomfortably from my seat, I looked at the window and gnashed, 'I loose... This guy seems too perfect... Maybe I should just leave them be... I mean, she deserves a better guy and that's him right there.'
While they talk to each other, I sneakily took a picture of them. Her father wants to know who the guy is, so I gave him exactly what he wants.
I'm sure her father would vote for him to go on a date with her. After all, he looks rich and someone who can support a family.
I waited and waited until they finally took their leave. They left after her morning shift. I waited until afternoon, to meet with her father and to give him the picture.
Her father, came from the upper floor, walks down from the stairs and surprises me.
I was just speechless with mouth agape, "What the... Are you telling me you are up there all this time?"
He grinned, "This is where we stay. Our business store is also our home."
"Then how come you never visit during the morning?" I asked curiously.
"I work during the afternoon and night. I'm too tired after that, so I always took my rest from midnight to morning."
I sighed.
"Anyways, any news?" He asks.
I nodded and handed him the picture, "Let's just say it was during your sleep. Customers gossiped around as they witness them. I must say, your daughter is lucky to have a guy like him..."
Her father, tightly clenched his fists and looked down, "This guy... Is her ex..."
I was shocked. I don't know if I have the right to ask, but I'm curious, "Ex? You mean... You knew him?"
"I've punched this guy before... He breaks my daughter's heart, twice..."
He continued, so I also continued to listen, "At first, he left their relationship, because he was never serious and that he's afraid of commitments. He left my daughter crying so hard..."
He then raised his fist, "--He even took her to a love hotel during that time!"
I got startled by his sudden action. I was just watching him, but also feeling slightly scared because he might punch me accidentally.
"--After a while, he returned back to her and even apologized to me as well. It was still reasonable, because after all, he just lacked commitment by that time."
He paused, making my eyebrows furrow, "Then? What's the second?"
He gnashed, "Before I let him date my daughter again, I told him to earn my trust first and so he did. However, a year after that, my daughter found out that he has been dating another girl and he has been two timing them."
He raised his fist again, so I closed my eyes, "--I literally looked for him and even punched him in the face! That cheater deserves it!" He added.
I was surprised, so surprised that I'm almost speechless. I didn't get punched, but I feel sorry for him.
"What is it with him? Why is your daughter with him once more?" I asked.
"That's what I want to know... I guess my daughter just couldn't move on from him and that she still loves him no matter what."
I sighed and shrugged, "Well... I guess there is nothing I can do now... I don't need to be introduced to your daughter now, so consider it a token of gratitude for making lovely coffees."
He looked at me with intent, "Please... Could you at least make my daughter fall in love with you?"
I literally choked after he said that, "Wha-What?? What are you talking about all of a sudden?"
"I know this is too much to ask, but I just really want my daughter to move on..."
I scratched my head and overthink, 'I couldn't even talk to her and now he wants me to make her fall in love with me? I mean, sure, why not, but I'll obviously fail, because I never had any experience.'
I looked at him with a poker face, "I'll obviously fail..."
He immediately glared at me, "Are you just gonna give up just like that? Where's your bad boy aura now?"
I gulped.
"Are you just all looks, but no guts??" He added.
I don't know what to do... He was gazing and glaring at me as he asks those questions...
I scratched my head and grinned, "I, uh... I forgot I have something to do! Yeah, yeah I have some important task to do, so I guess I have to go now. Ahaha..."
He then grabbed my shoulder as I was about to leave, "I'll wait for your answer..." He literally looked at me with dead-fish eyes and terrifying tone as he says that!
After a while, during the night. I head on to my mission.
The mission is simple: Hunt, Kill, and Extract.
I was ordered to find a single person. A person who survived from being killed and ends up summoning the keychain his assigned killer used to wield.
Any survivors who survived and took the weapon of the hoarder after being hunted, can never escape nor hide. Because we fantasy keychain wielders can sense the aura of a keychain wielder. It is basically a sense of feeling.
After hunting down the person and extracted the keychain from him, I walked around the street to have some fresh air.
As I looked around, I saw a couple who looks familiar.
It was them! Yuna and her ex. However, something is wrong. It's like this guy is forcing Yuna to come. He's trying to take him to a hotel, a love hotel.
Yuna is resisting, but the guy is persistent. It's not like I'll just watch them, but I don't think it's a good idea to interrupt them, as well.
This is where my good and evil personality clashed. Should I help her and save her? Or should I just leave them be?
I quickly ran towards them and took his hands off her. He felt the pain from his wrist as I gripped it tightly.
I looked at him with a glaring face and said, "Back off!"
I guess my good personality won...
