Chapter 3 - The Flame of Death Mountain

"Tack, Carly, before you go, take this," Impa said, handing Tack a sword and Carly two crossbows.

They took the weapons and instinctively held them high in the air, mimicking the way one would upon receiving an item.

"Well, it is dangerous to go alone," Tack joked with a grin.

Armed and ready, Tack and Carly set off toward Kakariko Village, Tack gripping his sword and Carly holding her crossbow steady. As they crossed Hyrule Field, monsters rushed toward them. Without hesitation, they drew their weapons. Tack sliced through the Bokoblins with ease, while Carly expertly shot arrows from her crossbow, each hit landing with deadly precision.

After battling their way through, they reached Kakariko Village. It was eerily quiet—no one in sight. Without stopping, they continued toward Death Mountain. As they approached the base of the volcano, giant flaming boulders tumbled down, narrowly missing them.

"Watch out, Carly!" Tack shouted, pulling his sister out of the way just in time.

They finally made it into Goron City, where they were almost bowled over by a massive, rolling Goron.

"Gah!" Tack yelped, stumbling backward.

Carly helped him up, and together they ran, dodging more boulders as they went. Suddenly, they heard a deep, panicked voice coming from a nearby room.

"The temple is overrun with monsters... creatures of every size... and the volcano is angered by their presence," the voice said, full of anxiety.

They cautiously entered the room, finding a Goron pacing nervously. He turned and gave them a confused look, as if wondering how long they'd been standing there.

"Who are you? And how did you get in here?" the Goron asked, his voice gruff but curious.

"I'm Tack, and this is my sister, Carly. The princess sent us. We dodged the boulders on our way up," Tack explained, his voice slightly trembling.

"The princess, you say?" The Goron raised an eyebrow. "She sent children to rescue Hyrule?"

"What's wrong with the temple?" Carly asked, clutching her brother's arm for comfort.

"The temple is crawling with monsters. If the princess believes children can save us, then go to the ruins of the volcano," the Goron replied, stomping his foot on the ground.

A door creaked open behind him, revealing the fiery interior of the volcano. As the siblings stepped through, the Goron slipped something into Carly's bag without her noticing.

"Be careful," he added with a wink. "It gets pretty hot in there."

He turned and left, disappearing into Goron City as Tack and Carly ventured into the heart of Death Mountain.
