The four dark knights were approaching quickly. They're movements were as fast as Akane's as they ran toward her, completely ignoring Ashito, the seemingly harmless, floating potato.
Once they had passed Ashito they were only 5 meters from Akane. Then suddenly one of them turned into a shadow like form, then the next, then the next, until all four had become ghostly shadows.
They did this in order to surround Akane, without her being able to attack her. Once they did so they returned to their original forms.
Now it would be time that they attacked Akane. The four knights this time, had different weapons. One had a basic black sword, another a spear, the third a war hammer and the last one a metal club like weapon with spears around it.
They all raised they're weapons readying to attack Akane. The four weapons went down on Akane killing her.
At least that's what would have happened, if Ashito wouldn't have stopped them.
Until then Ashito had been standing by the side watching, as Akane quickly defeated the knights with no mercy. But now that she was greatly outnumbered and outpoured, taking them all on, instead of defeating them one by one, Ashito saw that she couldn't achieve victory by herself.
And so using his psychokinesis, Ashito was able to stop the incoming attacks on Akane.
"Aaaargh!" Ashito screamed, "I guess I can't use my psychic abilities on so many objects at the same time, huh. This is pretty painful."
"What the...?" one of the knights asked, as he looked at Ashito, who was glowing the same colour as the frozen weapons, "Is that potato doing this?"
"Indeed." Akane smirked as she spoke, "He's a rather strange being and I'm not quite fond of him, but he is powerful."
"Well that's putting it very bluntly." Ashito murmured to himself.
"Not like I needed the help anyway, but now that you all are stopped... It's my turn." Akane said with a malicious grin on her pale face.
After Akane was done, it truly was HER turn.
But Akane just... stood there. Not moving a muscle.
Then suddenly her eyes shined bright red once more and something very unexpected happened.
Suddenly around Akane like a tornado, gusts of wind started blowing all around her, carrying leaves and other small objects in a circle. It got stronger and stronger, starting to even shake up the knights, but then suddenly - It stopped.
It just stopped. For no apparent reason. But the reason would soon become apparent, as Akane physical exhausted fell to the ground unable to move.
'What the...?' Ashito thought about the sight in front of him, 'Did she just...just, faint? No way right? I can't win without her!'
Ashito realised what was happening and put his priorities in proper order.
'OK, she did faint. What now? OK, Ashito, think, think, thin, damn it!... Got it! First things first, get Akane out of their range. Next... I'd like to run away and regroup, but if I do there will only be more casualties, so I have to take care of the knights now.'
As soon as Ashito had formed a proper plan in his head, he could begin executing it.
As he planned first he needed to get Akane out of there.
'But how?' Ashito thought, 'I'm barely holding four, I don't think I could hold five things. So I've just got to throw those weapons away. Easy peasy.'
After figuring that out, Ashito could finally make his move.
And so he did. Using all his might, Ashito used his psychokinesis to rip the weapons out of the knights hands.
He was about to throw them all away when he realised something.
'Wait a minute... I can keep one of them to use it as my own weapon! I'll choose the... War Hammer!'
Ashito threw all the weapons, except for the war hammer, far away hoping the don't land on anybody, then lifting up Akane and floating her up to a nearby rooftop.
"I'm gonna take you down!" Ashito said to the knights, " It may be four to one, but without you're weapons, you can't wi- Aaaaaah!"
The knights HAD another way to attack. Magic.
It was very similar to Akane's magic, but the flame slightly brighter. Ashito didn't know exactly what this meant, but since the knights had a new way to attack, he knew he was in trouble.
Even so Ashito believed in himself. 'I can do this'll thought, 'I have magic and a weapon. This'll be a piece of cake.'
With this new courage Ashito rushed to attack, learning from what he saw while Akane fought the other knights. That was: be fast, be smart and most important - be merciless. Ashito had no reason not to be. In the end these guys had tried to kill his only friend in this new world. He was not going to forgive them for that.
With this mindset Ashito swinged his war hammer at the closest guard - the one who previously possessed the spear. He was going for an uppercut, but the knight managed to dodge it. But Ashito expecting this went in for the second attack, swinging the hammer right back down, on to the knights skull, knocking the knight unconscious.
Although Ashito may have been mad, he wasn't a merciless murderer. He didn't want, no COULDN'T bring himself to eliminate the knight, even if he had intended to eliminate his alley, his friend - Akane.
With the first knight out cold, Ashito didn't take a second to attack the second one - the one who had the war hammer Ashito was using. Ashito continued his swinging motion, to the side hitting the second nights hip, fracturing it, pushing the knight into the side, slamming in to the third knight, who had carried the spiked club.
Although the strike of his ally slamming into him was quite powerful, the knight only barely flinched. He was the one that would get the first hit on Ashito, punching his small potato body, sending him flying.
After an airtime of fives seconds Ashito flew into a wall.
"Aaaaargh!... I'm a potato, but the feeling really is, as if my human body, got slammed into the wall."
After taking this beating Ashito's attitude was about to change.
"OK, I'm done with you! Attacking my friend and attacking a peaceful innocent town. You're about to pay for this!"
"OH, no look - the potato's angry." the knight said, mocking Ashito, "Better, take him down quickly. We don't have time for you."
The knight began charging at Ashito.
Not knowing what to do he looked around for something he could use. Then he found it.
It was one of the cart. It was the biggest one over them spanning over 2 meters in length.
'Surely this will be enough to take them down!'
Ashito then used all his energy to lift up the massive wooden cart. It was payback time.
Ashito hauled the massive cart to the incoming knight, hoping to take the other one with it as well.
The cart flew massive speeds at the approaching knight. He tried to block it with a magical shield, but the cart hitting him with full power wouldn't stop. If Ashito had been holding back before, now he was putting in his all.
"Nothing will, no, nothing CAN stop me!" Ashito yelled out.
The targeted knight was now flying back due to the cart, soon after taking the second standing knight with it too, both flying into the wall.
"No way they could be conscious. I won. I WON!" Ashito yelled at the top of his lungs.
The crashed cart, was silent, nothing moving under it. But then suddenly I started to rumble. The rumbling got stronger and stronger until - it flew off, from under it emerging the knight who had been hit second.
'I guess the impact on the first knight weakened the impact on the second knight.' Ashito thought, as things unraveled before him.
"You scum. We come from Serfama. You really think we'd lose this easily." the now standing knight said.
"Those other guys went down much easier. You're not giving up are you."
"You're the one who's going down!"
The knight seemed back to full strength, as if nothing had happened. As soon as he was he opened his palm, and a strange gush of wind burst out of it, Ashito who was floating in front of him, out of the wall, being pushed back several meters.
Ashito got back up and tried flying up to the knight and attacking him, but the wind blew him right back. He tried throwing objects at him, but they were blown away. Everything he tried to do was pushed back, by this knight, who was clearly of a higher skill level.
'I'm definitely not winning the with brute force,' after many tries thought Ashito, 'so time for a strategy. Whenever I fly or throw anything forward it get's pushed back. I can't get close. I can't attack.'
Ashito felt defeated. He felt useless. He was trying so hard to win. To save Akane, to save this town. It all was resting on him, yet he could do nothing. But in his darkest moment, the moment which felt impossible to overcome, an idea struck him.
'That's it! Akane. Akane fell unconscious. But why? She seemed to start using some sort of magic, but failed. That means there's probably some kind of energy feeling it. Which means if I can drag this fight out long enough, he'll faint too. I just have to make sure I don't faint.'
And that's exactly what Ashito did. He dragged the battle out. He kept dodging. He threw items at him as decoy. He could see that the knight was getting weaker and weaker after each wind attack. But so was Ashito. He's powers also had limits. That meant he had to end this soon.
'I'm tired and I don't know how long I can still use my powers. I have to end this - now.'
Ashito thought 'How can I deplete all his energy?'
The answer soon came to Ashito.
He picked up a bunch of the carts from the market.
'Oh boy, I can't do this for long.'
He packed them all into one mushed up ball and threw them at the dark knight.
Why? Simple. His plan was to deplete the enemy's energy in one ultra powerful attack. Both from him and the knight. He only had one chance to do so and he couldn't fail - not with everything riding on him.
The ball of carts flew straight at the knight.
It was visible that he was readying for his strongest counterattack yet.
He took a steady stance, put both hands out and - BOOM!
There was an explosion, but one of purely wind. It blew everything around the dark knight away. Including the carts, including Ashito - everything. Even things behind the knight - that was just how powerful the attack was.
Ashito had been blown away by the attack. He flew up just a bit to see what was happening. He saw the knights still standing, but a few moments after - he collapsed.
Ashito had done it. He had won.
"I-I did it. I really did it. Everyones safe now. Success!"
Soon after the explosion guards came to the seen to check out the trouble.
"That's my cue to leave. Bye-Bye!"
With that Ashito swirly flew away with what power he had left to fly up to the rooftop he had floated Akane, lied down, and lost consciousness.
