After Ashito falling unconscious, he's consciousness floated above and sank back under the sea of nothingness, him struggling to get to the shore.
Finally after a long struggle his eyes opened and he once again saw the blue sky above him.
Ashito wasn't sure how long he had been unconscious. All he did know was that he was just glad he was alive.
Ashito still felt weak, but he was able to move.
Ashito looked to his side where Akane was still calmly sleeping. Seeing her safe and sound put him at ease. He had won. He had saved Akane. He had saved the townspeople. He had defeated the dark knights.
Not wanting to disturb Akane, due to her falling unconscious due to exhaustion he decided to lie down next to her and rest. After all Akane wasn't the only one who had used all her energy. Ashito had also gone all out.
About an hour had passed. It was definitely past midday. Ashito had also fallen asleep and woke up several times in the span of this our.
The final time he woke up, he was awaken by Akane.
"W-Wake up... Ashito, wake up!" Akane tired from just waking up said to Ishito.
"Five more minutes, Mom..." Ashito mumbled, half asleep.
"Auuuuch!" Ashito yelled out as Akane slapped him.
"Don't call me "Mom"! I'm not that dang old." Akane snorted.
"I know, Jeez..." Ashito said as he remembered something strange, "Old...Age... You said something about "Human years". What does that... mean?"
"O-oh, that..." Akane said as she looked down, almost ashamed, " Well... I... I say some weird things when I'm using a lot of Mana."
"Mana, huh..." Ashito mumbled to himself, focusing on the "Mana" part of the sentence forgetting Akane's lying tone about the rest, "So I guess that there is some kind of energy, huh?"
"Yeah,... Wait I never told you?"
"You didn't. Well I didn't ask thought."
"That's true. Well magic is quite complicated so I'll just teach you the basics." Akane said as she began her monologue.
"Magic is fuelled by Mana, which exists in all things, living and not-living. Magic users like sorcerers, wizards and mages can use this Mana to create elements. The four elements are - Fire, Water, Earth and Wind. Based on where you live and what you practice you can use one or more of these elements. One or two elements is nothing special, but people with the ability to manipulate three or more abilities are quite rare and powerful. As you saw I can use Fire and β"
"β that knight could use Wind." Ashito chimed in and finished Akane's sentence.
"I myself did not see it, but I do know that people practice Fire and Wind in Serfama so you would be correct." Akane responded and continued, "And to measure the amount of Mana in a person a magic flower called "The Manausa" which blooms when there is Mana around. The amount of Mana in a person is called their StaMana. And that's about it for the basics."
"I guess that's simple enough. In that case, what is my element?" Ashito asked.
"I'm not sure. I've never seen anything like it." Akane quickly replied, "Since you use your power to pick things up it may be connected to Wind, but I am not sure. As far as I know it may be a new element all together."
"That's... Cool I guess." Ashito said, but quickly snapped back to the topic at hand, " What do we do now? About the attack on Arowa I mean."
"Yes, that. The knights! I fainted, but after thaβ"
"Don't worry." Ashito said in a calm voice, "I defeated them. The guards arrived so they're probably already locked up."
"Phew... That's good. Well in that case, we only have one more problem."
"What?"
"Kade."
