Smoke and ashes. That's all he could see. All around, there is nothing but smoke and ashes. How did it get to this? He ran. He ran and ran. As fast as he could. He didn't even stop when he broke his bones but he was still too late wasn't he? He was late. He was late. He was late. He was late. He was late. He was late. He was ''sniff''
A pearl white tear drop fell from his eyes. His eyes bloody red and his cheeks fill with ashes. The light in his eyes was dim. That liveliness that's makes his eyes shine bright and them look full of life was gone. Kongane looked around and all he could see was a sea of fire and smoke. People running and screaming. Sounds of fighting could be heard all around his village. His village. His new family. Everyone he loved in this new world was gone. He lost everything. Once again. He will again never see his mother. He will again never see his father. Their smiles. Hoshino. No one will scold him. No one will get anger at him. No one will tell him what to do and what not. No one will take care of him when he is sick. No on will worry about him when he is gone for long. No one will do this things again. It happening all over again. Its like God gave him this life just to tease him. Just when he was adapting in both worlds, God reminded him that he was all alone. Their was no one who he could love.
Heh. Miracle they said. IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL A FUCKING MIRACLE!? If it is then I don't want this kind of miracle. It would have been better if he died that day. At leave he didn't had to go over all of this pain. And when he was back on his feet again he died. When he finally died he had to go through this fucking pain once again. He couldn't stand this pain. He-He couldn't stand it. He wanted an escape. May-Maybe the people here would kill him. Maybe he will finally die this time. Maybe he could finally rest in peace.
As this thoughts ran through Kongane's mind his breathing increased and his heart beats fast and hard against his ribcage. His chest rose up and down as his eyes went in and out of focus. His mind was all mushy and he could not think properly. All he could do was wait. Wait and hope that maybe this time he would die. Maybe the gods would finally let him die this time. Kongane slowly closed his eyes thinking all of this as he fainted.
The massacre that was being don't in the village was finally stopped. Every villager was dead or held hostage. No one escaped from the human hunter's grasps. The humans hunted everyone down, not differing between the elderly or the young, man or woman, sick or heathy. They killed everyone and kept the beautiful and well behaved ones as hostages. The ones who didn't cooperate was killed on the spot. The death ones were skinned as every part of a demi-human was usable.
The hunters were walking around the village when they found Kongane passed out in the cold. The hunter who found him was grinning from ear to ear and he carefully picked up Kongane, worried that he will ruin this special prey. He slowly walked towards the camp fire that the hunters had set up near the tents as they were planing on staying in the ruined village for the night as the forest was filled with wild beasts and it was idiotic to move at night with hostages who steeled like blood.
As soon as the hunter stepped into the camping area he started shouting.
'' Hey Micheal. Look what I found when I was on patrol. ''
There was a man sitting near the camp fire talking with the other hunters about how much of a fortune they would make when they got back. He was annoyed when he heard his friend calling him.
'' What is i-.... ''
He was about to shout at his friend for disturbing him but as soon as he saw what he was carrying he was speechless. His friend was carrying a boy. A small boy, probably 5 or 6 years of age with a beautiful face. Though it was covered in ashes it was not enough to him his beauty. The man named Micheal had seen may beauties in his years of travel and he knew for a fact that fox demi-humans were natural born beauties but the boy in his friends arms was on a completely different level. And the best part is that he hasn't even matured yet. Just imagining how he would look like when he grew up would make one shiver in anticipation. Be it men or women, all would fall for him. If they could sell him to a prestigious family as a concubine or to groom him into a perfect object for bargaining they will earn a lot. Many will be willing to pay a hefty price for a gorgeous child like him. The demi-humans they caught here would mostly end up as concubine or prostitutes in big cities. Selling someone grown up is profitable but not much as a child since the grown up will always try to run or won't be able to get used to human culture or try to resist at the start. They are a troubles but since this one is a kid and this beautiful it was granted that he would be sold for a hefty price.
'' Sam where did you find him? '' Micheal asked the man who was carrying the passed out Kongane.
'' I found him near the villager. Guy must have fainted from seeing blood for the first time or something. ''Answered the man called Sam. The hunters around the camp fire could not help but feel jealous and envious of Sam as he found such a find specimen. If was hard to come across something like this. Sam's grin got bigger and bigger, if that was even possible, from seeing the other hunters envious gazes and green faces.
'' He looks like a fragile boy. You sould keep him in your tent than the cages since we don't want him to get sick and sould feed him well so that he stays healthy. If even there is a simple scratch on him it will reduce the mo ey we will get. No matter what happens we should take good care of him until we get to the Capital to sell him.'' Advised Micheal. They may have greed but they are not going to steal from a fellow hunter since the money will be divided into themselves anyway. Sam nodded as he also agreed with Micheal.
'' To everyone here! Listen clearly. No matter what happens don't dare to even hold his hand tightly as every scratch will reduce the pay we will get from selling him. So no matter what happens don't even dare to hold him harshly. Anyone who harms him will get their pay reduced.'' Everyone gulped as they heard Micheal taking. There was no doubt that they would abide by his every word as they themselves know that any harm don't to the demi-human will cost them a fortune.
Sam walked towards him tent when everyone nodded their head like chickens pecking rice, Kongane still in his arms, as he daydreamed about all the money he was going to make. This was a fruitful hunt.
Alas only the gods know what will happen to them next for what they had done here today.
